Used Spec-​1 to replace my ignition switch after someone failed to steal my bike and left me with it in a locked position and unable to get the key fully into the ignition. Spec-​1 was able to order the part for me which saved me the time of doing it (other businesses required me to have the part already). There was a bit of delay in which my bike could be worked on due to how busy (and popular they are) but I was in no rush. The day I had my bike towed to them I was informed they would assist with unloading so I didn’t need to be there. Not sure if that is the norm everywhere else, but I feel it should be mentioned. When the day came for pick up there were traffic delays which made me late and I showed up after closing time. I had called ahead and told them I would be late and they stuck around another 30 mins to wait for me to get there. Great customer service, very friendly and knowledgeable. These guys will be my go to for anything needed in the future.

This is what a motorcycle shop should be. You bring your bike in, start describing the symptoms, and they finish describing them for you because they’ve seen the same problem a million times.
I haven’t picked up my CRF450R yet but the estimate they gave was very reasonable.
The only catch for me is they’re in San Jose and I’m in San Francisco. Open a franchise in SF or northern Peninsula, please.

This place is a old school repair shop. Glenn is honest and super helpful. He has helped me out multiple times on my GSXR 750. This place is a hidden gem. If you own a late model Japanese bike. Dont take it anywhere else. Bring it to Spec1 they will sort out whatever you need for a great price.

Great shop! Always take my KTM 350 XCF-​W here for most services outside of oil change and things I can do in my garage. Prices seem fair and the quality is great. They seem to have a lot of bikes in the shop at all times but time to completion has always been short.

I got my basket case bike for them to fix up. Despite various issues due to long storage and my abuse, they got my baby purring strong again. It did cost me money but considering the state my bike was in, the workmanship was worth every penny. Highly recommended, skilled shop.

Love this shop. Ive worked with other guys in the past and had a bad time, the people here are AWESOME.
I brought in the carbs from my bike and a new jet kit. They listened to where I was at with my project, and did an outstanding job with the carbs. They ran them thru the sonic cleaner, rebuilt them using the kit I provided, and even adjusted them based on my bikes intake /​exhaust setup.
I was really surprised at how inexpensive they were too. I went in expecting to pay more than I did, and still received great service. The guys listened and were great communicators.
I finally got my project back together to the point where I was able to fire her up just a few days ago, and she runs like a dream with the carb work that was done. She idles way smoother, the throttle response is way better, and I didnt even have to make any adjustments. They were able to set everything up perfect without even having the bike there.
These guys know their S*** and will take good care of you. My friend told me about them, and now I tell all my friends too. They are a little far from my house, but definitely worth the drive.

UPDATE: Its been over a year now, and still to this day, I have not had any response to multiple inquiries about not only the ABSOLUTELY WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD, but any offers to correct all of their inferior service, the parts they broke during the service, or repairs to the chips in the paint left by their mechanics, and/​or any offer to refund the over $ 785 I spent to have the service done to begin with. NOT ONE SINGLE CONTACT CALL OR E-​MAIL from the a-​holes! These guys are NOT cool dudes, Glenn is a poor excuse for a service manager or mechanic. Not one single call back from this guy. Oh, he sure accepted my money alright. Meanwhile, my bike still runs like shit. It’s no fun to ride anymore because of these issues that were frankly created by these hacks. If they gave half a shit about the quality of their work or their reputations, you’d think someone would have contacted me by now. So, I will be continuously updating this review, and until they make matters right, I will still try my very best to cost them as much business as possible. Nothing like feeling completely ripped off to motivate this gesture and many more like it to come.

Had to do a safety inspection for my Honda 919. Called Spec-​1 and was able to get it done in 15 – 20 minutes by Glen, who even wrote up a report for me. Everyone I spoke with at their shop was helpful. Definitely my go-​to moto shop here in the south bay. Excellent service.

2 tire replacements. Brought it in and was told that it would be done in 30 mins. It took less than that. Thanks guys. Oh and the price for mounting was very reasonable as well.

I’ve been going to Spec-​1 a few years now and I recommend them to EVERYONE. Glenn is awesome, he really takes the time to explain or talk about things. Prices are great, and they really don’t try to squeeze money out of you (like the motor café). They’ve done things better than I expected (thanks for setting up that complicated headlight) and on at least 3 different occasions, did shit for free – I even offer to pay and they refuse!
I honestly feel very loyal to this business because Glenn and his team are that awesome. I need to ask them for a Spec-​1 sticker to put on my bike!

Glen and his guys are cool dudes. I brought my 06 hayabusa there to get my forks done. One of their techs forgot to plug in the light and caught my front end on fire. When I went to check it out, it was in bad shape.
Of course any motorcycle enthusiast would be crying if their bike caught fire, even more so at a trusted shop. I was truly sad and couldn’t wait to get my baby back. A week Later the bike was supposedly all fixed.
Glen was the man. He even dropped my bike off at my house. The bike was perfext, like nothing happened. I tried to pay him for doing my front forks but he wouldn’t accept my money. I swore to myself a few days earlier I would never go back and do business. But after speaking with Glen and his excellent customer service, I will definitely go back and do business. Everyone makes mistakes… it’s how we take care of them is what sets business apart.
I need to get my rear shock refurbished. I’m calling them this weekend.

I trust spec-​1 with all of my bikes. Before any big race, they do a great job prepping the machine and ensuring It will be in great condition for the event.

Overpriced oil change and I’m pretty sure they put my bike back together wrong. I saw the guy struggling and not sure if he knew what he was doing. I just wasn’t impressed with this place and I think they charge too much compared to other places with the same quality

Finally, I guy who says what he means and means what he says. Glen (and Joe) are doing things the old fashion way in terms of «real» customer service. Brought my «new to me» dirt bike in for service and they helped me stay on budget and on point with the basics of what my bike needed to run properly. They were patient with my questions offering me good feedback and insight. We discussed schedule and worked out an appointment that let me drop off and pick up the same day (of course I didn’t slam them with me last minute need either, I know I hate it when people do that to me).
I would have given them a 5star rating but I haven’t done enough business with them «yet.» Having stated that, based on my first encounter with Glen/​Joe, I believe I found my bike mechanics. stay tuned for a follow up.

If you need anything on your bike done and want an honest mechanic who looks out for you come to this shop. Glenn is awesome. Great service and doesn’t try to screw you out of your money. I brought my 07 gsxr 600 in for a motor swap and through all the problems (someone on ebay ripped me off) he was patient and walked me through buying one So I wouldn’t get ripped off again. Couldn’t ask for better service. I’m a new rider still learning and I don’t want anyone else to touch it. Thanks

Spec-​1 recently helped me repair a flat rear tire. I was able to purchase the new tires at a Cycle Gear store in the front of the building and very easily go out back and have Spec-​1 do the installation. The guys at Spec-​1 were very helpful in getting my tire installed the day I called and even pulled the screw out for me, so I could look at it. At $ 50 a tire, I think it was a pretty good deal for the speed and quality of service and am definitely going back to them for any motorcycle needs. Between Cycle Gear out front and Spec-​1 in the back, this one stop has it all!

Very professional. Took my bike twice and both times the work was done exceptionally well.
Recommended to all my biker friends.
