Hi my name is Yvonne Wilson. I reside in Hayward, CA. Dr. Steve Trinh is the best Dentist I have ever been to. He is the best Dentist ever. I walk in with terrible teeth and Dr. Steve Trinh made me look like a new person once he replace my teeth with top dentures and lower partial. He did an amazing job on my teeth. Unbelievable. I would refer all of my family and friends to Dr. Steve Trinh. The Drive to San Jose from Hayward was well worth it. He is an awesome Dentist. Thank you once again, for a job well done.

Dr. Trinh is a well educated, patient, conservative dentist. I travel 2.5 hours each way plus pay a toll fee in order to have his care ensuring my teeth and gums are in healthy hands.

So when it comes to the dentist, I get terrible anxiety. I start shaking and feel EXTREMELY nervous. I had a horrible experience with other dentists when it came to pulling out my wisdom teeth so I never felt like I could trust a dentist again. So far I’ve been to Dr. Trinh three times:
My first visit began thanks to his lovely staff assistant, Vu. I called their office and left a message saying that I was experiencing a major toothache and another dentist I had seen discovered I would need a root canal. I had left the message before the weekend so I didn’t receive a response back until the following week. I told Vu my whole situation and she was understanding and scheduled me in ASAP to get checked out by Dr. Trinh. Once I saw Dr. Trinh, he had confirmed I would need a root canal. I also received a tooth cleaning during this visit. Overall, I was so so so IMPRESSED with everyone. The staff is amazing at this office. They really know how to make you feel comfortable and assure you safety is their main concern.
My second visit occurred a few days ago. This was the BIG DAY! Time for my root canal. However, complications occurred and Dr. Trinh had to make the tough decision of extracting my tooth because of the bad shape it was in. Overall the tooth extraction was not painful. There was just a lot of pressure when they were trying to pull the tooth out. I had to receive stitches from this whole process. They gave me some high strength ibuprofen and so far it’s held me over pretty well (I wasn’t in TOO MUCH pain where I felt the need to rely on Norco which I had leftover from previous dentists).
My third visit was today and oh boy I was not expecting the bad news. It was a follow up appointment to see how my stitches were holding up but I guess my tongue ring had loosened some of the stitches and removed the membrane that was placed in the extraction area so I had to get re-​stitched with a new membrane in place. I was totally not expecting any of this and was pretty upset with myself that I had to go through the whole process again. I left the office in tears because I was just so frustrated with myself and my teeth. The whole process was very quick, just a tad painful at first but after some numbing I was okay, and Dr. Trinh was really understanding (sorry Dr. Trinh!).
Long story short, Dr. Trinh is really knowledgable and super kind! I felt so so so bad he had to do the whole procedure again. It was totally my fault. Overall though, he made me feel really comfortable, numbed me enough so that I wouldn’t be in any pain, and consulted with me step by step. Thank you to everyone that works in this office! TAKE CARE OF YOUR TEETH PEOPLE!!!

Everyone in the office, include the dental hygienist and the dentist, were friendly, kind, knowledgeable, thorough, and helpful. My appointment was right on time and after the appointment setting up follow-​ups and procedures was quick and easy. Thank you!

Great experience. Honest and professional. They took me in right away. No wait is always a good sign. Will definitely go back.

After 5 or 6 years, I have NO reservations about recommending Dr. Trinh.
I first tried them because the office staff at 2 other dentists I’d tried were incompetent and indifferent. When they said they’d be in touch with treatment plans or costs, I never heard from them again, even when I annoyed them by calling back. Both those dentists were talented and competent and personable.
But then so is Dr. Trinh. And so are his office staff, hygienist, and dental assistants.
Good care. Good customer service.

This is my second time that I came back to Dr. Trinh. My experience is very pleasant. The office is very clean.

I was trying to get my teeth cleaned but the first thing they did was X-​ray my teeth. I asked if it was covered and they said yes. A month later I get a bill for 258 dollars from them. They actually had the audacity to charge me 55 dollars for the disgusting fluoride they said was part of the teeth cleaning.
They may be all smiles, while they are knifing you in the back. I hope everyone avoids this place.

Great first visit. Happy with my new dentist. Everyone there is very nice and supportive. I love the sunglasses they gave me to protect my eyes from the bright light. Very nice touch.

I hate going to the dentist mainly because most of the places I had gone to or was referred to, ended up jacking up my teeth. I’m not exaggerating, I had three fillings that I never should have had, a dentist who talked down and insulted me, and had the worst service from the staff. So you can see why I wasn’t a fan of going to the dentist.
So 4 years later my wisdom finally said «Hey! Get me outta here!», so I went.
Many of you who I hope reads all of this through can probably agree that going to the dentist can be scary and uncomfortable at times. But this place made me feel at home. Even when I first called to set up my very first appointment, the staff here gave me a detailed step by step explanation on how every procedure, payment and any other question that I had answered.
I thought all my procedures would be long and painful, but it was the complete opposite. I just had my wisdom teeth removed a few days ago, my teeth cleaned, a crown implanted, and any fractured fillings fixed. He did it all in a month! Which was amazing for me because as a full time student and working full time, it’s not always easy to squeeze an appointment in.
Dr. Trinh has been nothing but amazing. I love his staff! They execute well, they are very KIND, Professional, they’re time EFFICIENT, and they are all VERY well informed.
***They made me feel relaxed and comfortable in their care, which I think is an extremely important factor in finding and investing in a good dentist.***
And while I sit here swollen post-​wisdom teeth extraction looking like a chubby bunny, I am a happy chubby bunny. =)

This is a small, welcoming practice where everyone takes the extra time to get to know you and ensure going to the dentist is as pleasant as it can be. There aren’t a lot of extra frills — no daycare room or giant fish tank, but if you’re looking for a reliable dentist with an excellent staff, look no further.

Today was my first time visiting this location, and I absolutely loved it. The staff was nice and made me feel comfortable. The cleaning was gentle, yet thorough. This place is a thousand times better than my old dentist! I was happy to find out that they do ortho as well, since I’m looking into getting braces. Definitely coming here from now on!

Very professional and competent staff. Dr. Trinh is kind, patient, and backs it up with 20 years of experience. The dental hygienist Phuong does the cleaning, and she too is very kind and explains the procedure before putting anything into your mouth.
Their front desk staff is stellar. Susana neatly laid all my financial options before me and patiently explained the pros and cons of various choices. She is knowledgeable of the dental terms and procedures, and even showed me first hand how to floss properly.
This office accepts Medi-​Cal as an insurance option. Don’t let the San Jose location scare you off — there is plenty of parking right behind the office.

Got a filling here a month ago I still can’t drink anything too cold it hurts alot more than before I never even knew I had a cavity. Let alone 6.

Just got my dental approved and was refereed here. Everyone is so friendly here. Its a clean office and very organized. As soon as I walked in for my 3 o’clock appointment I was shown to my seat and they got on checking my teeth out right away. They play great music and also have a television right above you to watch while u get your teeth done! How sweet is that!
I was nervous but Dr. Trinh explained all my options and procedures perfectly. The appointment went great and afterwards I was given an appointment for the very next week. I recommend this place to any and every one. NO DOUBT 5 STARS!

I’ve found it pretty challenging to find good dental care in San Jose, especially when limited to a Network Selection. It can really be hit and miss!
Well, in this case I was in the Guardian Network and reviewing a list of hundreds of potential options and opted to cross-​check with Unilocal,as I’ve tried to do in the past, to minimize bad experiences where dental procedures (already typically fear-​inducing and uncomfortable!) are concerned — and both Unilocal and Dr Trinh and Team served me very well on this one!
This really is a jewel of a place. A little bit tricky to find, but when I contacted the office before I went, I not only got directions, but very specific details re: parking options, including specific reserved space numbers available to clientele, as well!
I was also (not exactly by choice, nor on account of bad planning by my part, but nevertheless a tricky situation for all involved) having a last-​minute cleaning, with my dental insurance expiring 3 days later. The gal at the front desk, Frances, was fantastic, and made it possible for me to go in that day — in fact within the half-​hour — so that I could not only take care of the cleaning, but also leave a day or two in case I should need additional dental care. I headed right over, filled out the paperwork (do expect to take about 10 min on that — and my only singular complaint being that if they have you’re info, it’d be nice if they at least filled your name in, but this in no way diminishes from the 5 stars… it’d really just be the sprinkles on the icing on the cake, if time should allow!) and was in the chair within ~20 minutes from time of initial investigational call.
They took both x-​rays and photos, and the primary Dentist, Dr. Trinh, performed the check. The photos were a great addition — and enable the dentist to visually show why it might be best if one of my old metal fillings should probably be replaced before the insurance expired. Cleaning otherwise went well enough, and at the end they are kind enough to offer mouthwash to rinse with, in their bathroom, which is a nice touch beyond a cup of water (though that’s also an option if the single bathroom happens to be occupied at the time).
I was really impressed with the knowledgable, polite and caring way the dentist, Dr Trinh, spoke to me about my options and some concerns over whether or not antibiotics might be necessary in my circumstances. He and his staff were very interested in gathering all relevant information, and gracious when my ability to offer them answers was rather limited, and would later actively take extra precautions on their side to account for the information we didn’t have available.
They scheduled the filling appointment to follow very shortly thereafter, so as to make sure insurance applied, and sent me home with a cute little dental care package, which is always a nice treat!
When I came back in for the filling, I walked in and was guided to the chair almost immediately! The estimated 45 min for the whole process and took 44 min or less!
The gals at the front desk admitted they weren’t having the best of days, but were still wonderful, kind, and full of smiles (kudos to them for being human and still great to interact with in spite of challenges faced — rather than falsely positive! i.e. REAL and REALLY Great!) and the Hygienist, Phuong, who helped prep for the filling was wonderfully kind and thorough/​detail-​oriented as well. She was most careful about tending to my comfort and concerns during the process, on both a professional/​technical and personal/​emotional level.
Honestly, It’s the first time I’ve ever walked into a dentist office and kind of felt like family right off-​the-​bat. I’m am ever so grateful and certainly wish to celebrate and share their high level of both professionalism and service, and to give extra kudos for their flexibility and attention to detail in my case!
The whole team was just fantastic and in spite of my inevitable move to another insurance company, I do hope to go back here some day (and how often does one say THAT about a dental institution??! ;-9)

Went here for my first time, the staff and dentist are super friendly! One of the receptionists helped me find office and I was promptly seen. They were even able to squeeze me in for a cavity fix they found in the cleaning they did for me right after. The only thing I didn’t like about this place was how the process was kinda messy; I even got a fleck of toothpaste in my eyelash. That said, it is a dentist so a bit of mess is to be expected. Definitely going back again
Update: My tooth hurt two weeks later and they were super helpful in squeezing me in to help and very friendly when I got there. These people are the best!

I went here for my cleaning because of the 5 star reviews on Unilocal and because they were contracted with my insurance. Anyways, I will not come here anymore and I definitely would not recommend this place to my friends and family… well maybe to people I hate since this place charges extra fees or recommend this place to people who have a lot of cash to blow for unnecessary dental work.
ALSO, THE DENTIST SAID I HAD 4 CAVITIES AND HAD TO PAY 175.00 OUT OF POCKET FOR MY COPAYMENT. GUESS WHAT??? AFTER MY SECOND OPINION WITH ANOTHER DENTIST, IT WAS FOUND I ONLY HAVE ONE CAVITY!!! OH, AND MY COPAYMENT WAS WAIVED THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
When I was laid off last year, I paid for my cleanings out of pocket; I paid 59.00 at one place and then 79.00 at another. After my cleaning here, I was charged 79.00 in extra fees! I mean geez, that’s what insurance is for right? I mean, my insurance covered 100% of preventative, but what the hell were those extra fees for? I might as well have paid out of pocket at Edenvale Dental where they only charged me 59.00 for xrays, cleaning, and evaluatation! What got me pissed off was they charged me 35.00 for fluoride! The dental hygenist asked, «Do you want fluoride?» I said sure, thinking it was part of the cleaning and not know ing it would cost me 35.00 extra. What she should have said was,“WOULD YOU LIKE TO SURPRISINGLY BE BILLED 35.00 FOR FLUORIDE YOU CAN BY FOR 5 DOLLARS AT WALMART?“
Also, they took colored photos of my teeth and that cost an additional 44.00! After talking with Frances, she was kind enough to waive the fluoride fee. I asked for my xrays to take to another dentist for a second opinion. Now that I think of it as I am typing this review, they only gave me the xrays and not those other pictures they charged me an extra 44.00 for. What a rip!
Okay, okay, I think it’s fair I should say something nice about this place at least. I’ll recommend this place to anyone who likes their insurance being taken advantage of and spending money on stuff they probably dont need… I mean, read the other review a person (David D) left on this dentist about how he felt this place likes to take maximum advantage of his insurance.
Lastly, get your dental work done with a dentist that has decent teeth.
