TAEMA Taekwondo

Martial Arts, it’s a great thing to get into. It builds confidence, endurance, discipline, respect, and many other great things. I’ve been through some Taekwondo training myself in my college days, and miss it still… even after 30 years… the gym, the mat, and most of all Master Pak, a respectful and caring middle age man. If Master Pak is to have a gym in the area, I’d join him in a heartbeat and will also enroll my kid.
Taema Taekwondo, where my kid goes to today (soon to be past tense), does not appear to have a good sense of respect toward martial arts. I am not referring to the instructors… it’s to the owner that runs the place and the general policies there. It feels very much like they are in for the money, not necessarily for the love and spirit of martial arts. Yes, it is a business after all, and bills need to be paid… can’t deny that… but this isn’t something that I feel is wrong… though their cost is up there compare to others, it’s that little thing about the parties they hold for kids when it comes to Halloween, Christmas, etc. Each kid pays $ 25 and any friends invited also need to pay $ 25. This just seems… wrong? Not knowing how that money is being used and if they’ll end up going back to the kids… I can’t say I know, but for whatever reason… it just feels… OFF. Have the class come to my house and I’ll throw a party for them, FREE of charge! It’s for the kids to enjoy that special day. and just to have a little fun from time to time after all that «hard work?».
Already feeling a bit «wrong» about Taema… another incident occurred just recently that they denied what they had agreed to before the summer. Here is the just of it… full year of fee paid… but my son is oversea the whole summer so we were agreed to postponing 3 months classes before my son took off for the summer (this past summer), verbally, not to mention that we already set the expectation when we first enrolled my son and they said «No problem». We also followed up with an email and sent to Taema before taking off for the summer, but no response. After our return, the classes would’ve last till December since we just went back to class late September. We even double checked with the head Master and asked if «I still have your word», he said YES. However, just yesterday, we have just been told that unless we renew, the contract has expired and we cannot go back again!!!
What about all that agreement and the Master’s word? Doesn’t trust means anything in the world of Martial Arts?
One star for the happy time that my kid had there with the instructors. With owner/​family not following through with their words, they’ve broken the very foundation of respect and honesty for martial arts, and for me.

After moving to Almaden area, I was looking for a good TKD studio for my son. 2 of my friends recommended TAEMA TKD and my wife and I enrolled my son into the class. At first, I didn’t think much as I preferred the teaching style of another studio that my daughter was enrolled in back at our old home but I grew to appreciate the staff at TAEMA TKD. They really make it a fun and enjoyable experience for the beginning levels. However, their black belt levels classes are definitely competition level TKD and I was impressed watching those sparring sessions. TAEMA meets the varied needs of those wanting a fun experience all the way to challenging students to getting the upper level black belts.

It’s a really great TKD studio– way better than any other one near here for sure. Always known across the country for their athletes that rep them well at all the major tournaments. Legitamate Taekwondo training for all skill levels and ages. Only great things from here.

My two kids have been taking taekwondo lessons at TAEMA for the last 5 years (since age 5 and 6). The TAEMA masters are not only amazing coaches, you can feel that they truly care for development for each child. In addition to the physical trainings, kids are also taught self defense, self discipline, respect and much more. TAEMA also has the highest standards amongst the studios with TAEMA athletes earning countless national medals in both poomsae and sparring competitions. I highly recommend TAEMA for anyone looking to learn Taekwondo.

Taema is a wonderful place for taekwondo! Besides building confidence and self-​esteem in our boys, it has taught them patience and goal setting. The students are treated with kindess, love, and respect. The art of taekwondo and the art of learning about yourself are taught here. The masters are engaged in developing the whole student through patience and having fun. The masters here are truly amazing role models and train their students to be amazing role models. Class sizes are small and are more expensive than most. You are paying for amazingly talented masters that are extremely talented in their craft and share it with an exceptional spirit to their students.

Taema Taekwondo has a great atmosphere for all ages. My son has been enrolled for two months and looks forward to all his classes and seeing his new friends that he has made. The instructors are awesome and are great people. I would recommend Taema Taekwondo to all my friends.

TAEMA is the place to be. My daughters have been going to TAEMA ever since it first opened. My girls have gotten so much more than I would have expected. My daughters have become great leaders in the studio as well as out of the studio. TAEMA has played an integral part in their upbringing and couldn’t imagine their lives without it.

Best place to be for kids of all ages and adults to help acheive their goals and to improve mentally and also physically in all areas. All of the masters and instructors help you in all of the areas you want and need in any way possible. It is a great enviroment place for families.

«TAEMA» is THE place for Taekwondo! My children love being part of the TAEMA family. Kids are treated with love, respect and kind regards. All the masters and other staff/​assistants/​instructors on site are very professional and caring. They help you achieve your goals and improve your goal setting. They run an excellent program teaching martial arts as well as great self esteem, respect, and confidence. Master Suh is a great instructor, leader and a role model. His inspiration, guidance and advice play a huge role in my children’s lives.
Students and families are very friendly as well. We have made great friends here over the years and enjoy their company outside of taekwondo.
If you are looking for a safe, effective, family oriented and well maintained Taekwondo school this is the place!

We didn’t plan to enroll our 5-​year-​old son to this class, we just happened in that strip malls, but finally decided to get him in. It turned out the best decision. Only in a few classes, our son improved significantly in his behavior, manner, and obedience. He’s more open and excited to new things, and more helpful.
They also have several activities that include other members of our family, and we really enjoy them.
