Disappointed, had the fish bowl platter. Fish and chip batter was very salty, catfish fingers was mostly batter with no taste. Was not worth the price

Three of us visited the fish bowl last Sunday, the 31st, & were«sat» promptly. Our server took our order, & was gone. We all added a salad, & kept looking for it. However, they brought it out all together! The table next to us, got appetizer, salads, & entrée ALL at once!!! Couldn’t locate any body to request mustard from!!! Literally standing up, looking… trying to find a server!!! They are definitely NOT«service» minded!!! VERYFRUSTRATING!!! Enjoyed the ambiance, but that was about it! Start with NEWMANAGEMENT!!! Training, training & more training!!!

Despite the negative reviews, we decided to have our sons Birthday here! We had a blast, food was great, server Yvonne went above and beyond. Kris was very helpful at the front desk. Our party was a very large group of kindergartners and parents. We received only compliments and can’t say thank you enough!

I just had the tournament burger. It was good They only have 3 burgers on the menu So if your looking for high end quality burgers this ain’t it But if ur looking for a burger that’s good and filling and for 13.05 it won’t break the bank. Quick eats at a giant ass fishing and hunting store

Well worth a visit, but try during the week. Standard stuff, fish and chips, burgers etc, all very decent. I went for lunch on Friday, was seated immediately and food served within 15 mins. I had the fish and chips and my friend had a chicken wrap, we both enjoyed our food. The fish was fresh with crispy batter. The restaurant looks amazing! I’m not sure why all the bad reviews, don’t expect high end food at a bowling alley! It’s a fun family place.

Went there on a Friday night(without calling ahead) for a birthday and expected a chaotic and long wait. We got a table for 13 people right away, and while there was a 2 hour wait for bowling we were able to put our names on the list while we were eating, and our lane was open right after we were done eating. The service was great, we all had no complaints on the food and staff was very friendly and the inside is awesome! We will definitely be back!

Waited 30 mins to get a table. then were IGNORRED by staff AND managers… couldn’t get their attention. Was not that busy but no one wanted to seem to acknowledge people waiting for drinks and food. Finally someone took our order and waited for 2 beers and 2 sodas and alligator… hmm fail so far… don’t think I will be back.EVER. service was terrible. Once our order came, we were given no napkins or plates… had to try and flag someone down to get them.

We went here over the weekend to check it out and to celebrate two birthdays in the family. We had a fairly small party of 6 and the wait time at 1:30pm on Saturday was 1h 15min. My wife l arrived early before the rest of the part anticipating this so we browsed the store it the the pager. 1h 20min later we were seated. Out of 6 people one plate had to be sent back and was later comped the other was not eaten and comped. Plate 1: Fish Bowl Plater — Over cooked white fish, almost burnt batter. Correctly cooked catfish, very under seasoned. Tiny little popcorn shrimp mixed in with french fries. Both under-seasoned. Was not impressed at all. Plate 2: Bass Pro Burger ordered medium well with no pickles. Received one Bass Pro Burger cooked medium rare, which is not OK for my pregnant wife. We sent it back and it took 20 minutes to be returned. When it did come back it was well done and not even the right toppings. Came back with pickles, bacon and cheese added. My wife had to watch everyone eat and we were all done by the time her food finally came out and it was still not right. This meal was comped. Plate 3: Turkey Avocado BLT. Nothing special and no problems with this plate. Plate 4: Classic Reuben. The meat on this sandwich was so tough it was almost inedible. This plate was returned and comped. Plate 5: Tournament Burger ordered medium well. This one came out correctly. No issue here. Plate 6: Kids mac and cheese with apple sauce. Was literally Kraft mac and cheese with a little individual cup of apple sauce. Two beer’s were also ordered, a Sam Adams Rebel IPA and a Guiness. Took 15 – 20 minutes to come out. Waitress kept saying the bar was backed up. When they finally came out we were surprised to see they were bottled beers. It took 20 minutes for someone to open a bottle? Really. Probably not going to ever eat here again. One and done.

Went here with my mom and young cousin for a nice fun dinner. Luckily no wait for a table. The menu was terrible, service was slow, food was disgusting, how do you screw up a Cesar salad with chicken? The chicken was so dry it was like jerky and they charged an extra 4 dollars for it. They brought our food out, my cousin ordered sliders with French fries from the kids menu, there were onion rings on her plate, so I told the waitress that brought it that she ordered fries, she said they ran out and in the rudest tone said«I didn’t take your order, I don’t know» it’s costumer service! Come on man, what’s up with the disrespect? The place was dirty for a bran new place, floors weren’t vacuumed, chairs were dirty. Gross. We will never eat here again. This place is bad news.

The bar gets 2 stars for décor, but that’s where the coolness stops. There is something seriously wrong when it takes forever for a bartender to recognize a patron sitting at the bar, not to mention there were 4 of us! And then it was a manager that asked us if we had been served yet. The place wasn’t even all that busy on a Thursday night. Then we ordered food that we waited for for over 40 minutes and when the people next to us(who ordered way after us) got their food, we just asked them to take our food off of our bill so we could leave. The regular drinks are good, priced well, but don’t bother with the fish bowl that is overpriced and way too sweet. Probably will not go back again.

We wanted to check out bass pro just like everyone else and when we heard there was a nice bowling alley included we were all excited. We checked out the store first and upon entering we noticed how spacious and huge it was. Walked around and finally stumbled upon the bowling alley and restaurant, asked how long the wait was for a table and they told us about 1 hr and 30 mins then proceeded to ask how long the wait was for bowling and was told 45 mins. We decided to just do bowling and grab some appetizers to eat while we bowled. We walked around the store again to kill time while waiting for our lane and when we finally were buzzed in we immediately ordered some alligator, nachos, wings and a supreme pizza. There are only 6 lanes here which sucks because you’re basically cramped in a small area. While bowling, we had some issues with our balls getting stuck and not getting it returned back to us.(our neighboring lane had the same issues too). It would take the staff awhile to respond to our call help button which made us lose time in our lane and when we asked them if we could get an extra hour to play they told us no and there were other people waiting, we had 5 people playing and it took some time to play and we wanted another hour but kept getting denied by the staff in the front but the waiters and servers told us it was fine for us to pay for another hour. Pretty irritating and confusing. While all of this is happening we were still waiting for our food… About 30 mins in we finally got our food and weren’t given any napkins. As gor the good, the wings are just your typical buffalo nd bbq wings, nothing fancy. The alligator was hood but a lil tough but the nachos were delish! There was a decent amount of pulled pork and sauce that didn’t drench the nachos and make it soggy which i like. The pizza was cut into uneven squared pieces where there were some corner pieces with nothing on it and other pieces had meat that was stacked on more meat and was overall soggy. It is pretty hard to get some good service here, takes them awhile to get to you as well as get you stuff that you order. It was definitely not worth the wait at all. The decorations are nice but thats about it.

The food is edible, that’s about the best I can say about it. The service is lacking which is somewhat to be expected given its a new restaurant, but this was pretty poor. The waitress was slow to serve ketchup for our meals that have fries. But they were quick to make us lift up our hands from the table so the waitress could wipe the table down after we had eaten and we’re still talking. I’m not planning on going back anytime soon.

If you live in the area, or anywhere in San Jose for that matter, you’ve undoubtedly talked about the new Bass Pro that sprouted up on Almaden Expressway and the huge amount of new traffic it’s bringing to this once sleepy intersection. Whenever I’m in town I don’t even TRY to use the Almaden exit off the 85 anymore. Next door(attached but also with its own entrance) to the humungous Bass Pro is Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl. Its name says everything because it’s a bowling alley and restaurant combination that makes you feel as if you’re inside an actual aquarium. Large fish and sharks(fake of course) are hanging from the ceiling and special lights give the appearance of reflecting water. Tons of other nautical themed pieces are everywhere to really play up the theme. We showed up right when they opened on a Saturday morning(11:00am) and we already had a 15 minute wait for a table. There was a little confusion because there’s two separate lines — one for a table and one for bowling with no signage to let you know which is which. The bowling lanes were filling up quick and while we were waiting for our table the host made an announcement that all the lanes were full. As you can imagine, all of the 20 or so other people in line let out loud and collective groans as they walked away with their heads down. They were told to come back in an hour to see if any lanes were available. When the place marker they gave us lit up we had to work our way through a huge crowd of kids, strollers, and stressed out parents to get back to the host table. We were led to our booth in the dining area which is right next to the bowling lanes. Thankfully the glass wall between the two areas suppressed most of the noise and we could barely notice the lanes while we were eating. Obviously, the menu has seafood as well as plenty of burgers, sandwiches, and even flatbreads and pizzas. I ended up getting the Bass Pro Burger(classic favorite with lettuce, tomato, and sliced pickle) with the patty substituted out for chicken at no additional cost. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the fries were great as well. While I was expecting a huge portion, the burger was a little smaller but ended up being the perfect size to fill me up without making me feel stuffed. Bass Pro and Uncle Buck’s has only been open for about a month so they’re still finding their groove. Their low grade average is a little surprising but you have to go in remembering that they just opened. There’s a few things they can improve on, just like anywhere else(the minuscule text on the menus for instance), but the food is good and the prices are very fair. Uncle Buck’s is a fun place with lots of eye candy to look at while you’re eating and it’s easy to spend hours looking around in the shop next door after your meal!

Tried again! It wasn’t even busy and we were all but ignored at the fish Bowl. SERVICESUCKS! This place sucks! The service was terrible! The bartenders stood right in front of us washing glasses and ignoring us for over 5 minutes. I had to ask them all what do we need to do to get service. It was dirty, chaotic and unorganized. I live in walking distance, but will never go back.

We wanted to check out the new Bass Pro Shop so we figured we’d get something to eat while we were there. We were told the wait was an hour &20 minutes. O’kay, fine, we wanted to look around the store anyway. I wouldn’t wait an hour to eat here again just for the food or the service. It’s typical American fare — burgers, sandwiches, nachos, fries, etc. I had the turkey BLT — the bread was over toasted, & hard. Hubby liked his Pastrami, though. Our server didn’t crack a smile the whole time and just looked at us blankly when she had to check on us. I heard the people at the next table complain about stale chips in their nachos. We were seated next to a group of young adults who knew people who worked there so some employees joined them I’m guessing while they were on their break. Word of advice: Even if you’re on your break — YOU’REWEARINGYOURCOMPANY’S SHIRT&REPRESENTINGTHECOMPANYWHO’S PAYINGYOU& sitting with the public you’re serving! — Don’t complain about customers, people you work with or what a bad day you’re having or use profanity within earshot of CUSTOMERS! All bad!

Uncle Buck’s is brand new which may explain some of the miserable experience we had today, and for that I’ll give it the single star, but it’s hardly deserving. Here’s my story… Love Bass Pro Shop. Still feel like Manteca got the better deal, but it’s nice to have something like this so close to home. Decided to check this out and try the new restaurant. Don’t let the cool store fool you — the restaurant isn’t what you’re hoping for. First, even though not completely full, the weight for a party of 4 at 12:30 on a Sunday was quote at an hour. Okay, they’re new and busy. We’ll walk around the store and give it a look. They’ve got a paging system that goes throughout the store, so that seems like a safe bet. Unfortunately, it took all of an hour and a few minutes more before we were seated… and this is probably when I should have left. Sat down… 5 minutes, no service. 10 minutes… ask for someone, no service. Finally after about 15 minutes someone comes up and asks if we’ve been helped. Never mind the famished look on our faces as we sit parched in the uncomfortably warm restaurant. We give her the full order, drinks and all, for fear that we may not get another opportunity. Good thing, too. It’s important to note that Uncle Buck’s does not seem under-staffed. There are employees everywhere, they just don’t seem customer focused, which is a little sad. We ordered fish and chips, a salad, a sandwich, a bowl of soup, and a kid’s macaroni and cheese. It took 30 minutes to arrive. After asking 3 different staff our drinks arrived a few minutes after that. To add insult to injury… 1 — Kid’s macaroni and cheese was Kraft and a decent size kid’s serving and included a choice of side. My daughter picked a salad and Uncle Buck’s should be embarrassed. Five pieces of lettuce on the middle of a plate, if that’s how you’re going to present it, why bother? $ 5.49 for the entrée plus $ 2.49 for the kid’s slush. $ 1.29 for the milk that was never served. 2 — Turkey, avocado, BLT Sandwich($ 10.50) with Soup of the Day(broccoli cheese +1.95) — had a good flavor and plenty of turkey and fixings. Bread was toasted and served cold which made it a little chewy. Soup was 2⁄3 of what I would consider a cup. Presentation wasn’t too bad. 3 — Chicken Cobb Salad and a cup of Soup of the Day(12.50 + 3.00) — this soup was about ½ full and like the other was lukewarm. Salad was ordinary and while it had the requisite ingredients everything was cut up very, very small. Flavor was ok — wouldn’t order again, but not tragic. 4 — Fish Bowl Platter and side caesar salad(15.00+3.25) — where to begin… the salad was more dressing than lettuce. Croutons were soggy. Salad was warm. Fortunately there wasn’t more than about four bites on the plate which left little waste. The fish bowl platter almost made me laugh — especially considering that it’s connected to Bass Pro Shop. Described as: Our famous Fish & Chips, spicy breaded catfish fingers, and petite popcorn shrimp make one catch of a meal. Served with French fries. Not even sure where to begin in describing this, but suffice to say it was lukewarm which should have been the«send it back» warning. That it looked like someone had literally dropped it on the counter and threw it back on the plate is a funny addition. The catfish was good and flavorful but almost cold, and I wouldn’t use the word«spicy» in the sense of heat, but the flavor was good. Had it been hot, I bet that would have been my favorite. The fish and chips was so-so, mostly cold. The«popcorn shrimp» were those little salad shrimp drenched in some really heavy batter and fried. Also served cold. Weird, tasteless experience. Ambiance is loud, but it’s a bowling alley, so I’m not going to nock it there. It’s actually cool for a little bit, with all the ocean motif and what-not, but it gets old quickly. So there you have it… $ 65.85 worth of food and nearly three hours I’ll never get back. Glad to have my family with me, and the time to chat, but definitely won’t go back.

Had no trouble being seated, got a place right away. My friend and I had a great server, Debbie. All the staff were friendly and fun, making already for a fun dining experience. Ordered two fishbowls, the alligator appetizer, and a plate of nachos, more than enough food just from this. The fishbowls were well worth the money, equivalent of two or three drinks at most bars, and at $ 15 each they were a steal. Figure at bars we would have paid a bit more for the amount of alcohol in the drinks. Tha alligator was delicious. A bit spicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The nachos were fantastic as well, but I’m a sucker for pulled pork. The jalapeños complemented the sweet BBQ sauce well, and coleslaw topping was nice and crisp. Overall, friendly service, fantastic food, and a very unique atmosphere(we sat near a giant shark). Next time, I’m trying the bison burger.

Went to eat at 4pm «to beat the crowd» but still have to wait 90 minutes. The restaurant isn’t even half full but we are told they are waiting for servers because they just had a shift change.

This place is connected to bass pro shop. It has a dining area, bar and bowling lanes. Not huge but can still hold a good amount of people.
