I always get help and upfront I let them know that I don’t know much about the subject and they are very accommodating. Just come clean with them and tell them you are a neophyte and they help. Most times they are lock step with my contractor brother in Arizona (who I use extensively for advice). I’ve been in and out of that store for 25 years and never have been rubbed the wrong way.

Very rude. Cashier asked who was next. I stepped forward he asked if I was paying cash or by account. I was only purchasing one thing so I wanted to pay cash. He told me to wait in line at another cashier that it was shorter. Then left the counter and sat down. No other customers to help at the time. Very rude and unprofessional. Will not go back.

Looking for a place to see colors for Benjamin Moore paint, we ended up at the San Juan Ganahl — and in the very capable hands of April. An artist who is trained in color theory, she helped us select accent colors, pointing out the ones that were too yellow or went muddy when put with the main color. When we were concerned that the main color might be too dark, she made a lighter version for us to test. She suggested paint to solve our latex-​peeling-​off-​of-​oil-​paint on the kitchen cabinets. And she efficiently managed other customers and calls in between our dithering. A few days later, when we made our purchase, she made that smooth as well.

I used to shop there frequently. One day 3 years ago I bought a concrete hole saw which was very cheap in quality. I found a better one elsewhere and when I went to return my purchase one of the managers came out and told me I couldn’t return it because I had already used it since it had dust on it, THEIR shelf dust. In front of several customers he proceeded to accuse me of using it and trying to return it. Needless to say I was offended and very upset. All over a $ 13 dollar tool. In anger I tell all my friends the story since I have not shopped there for over 3 years. So as a contractor I spent about $ 4000 a year times 3… They lost $ 12 000 for being rude. Beware! Oh… I did call the store and complain… They said «ok we’ll pass the information along»…How about pretending I’m the customer and say, «we apologize» I still have the receipt and the tool in the bag to this day to remind me how not to treat my customers.

I have not had a good experience with the salesperson here — Kriss B. We went to the showroom and she showed us a door that we liked. She wrote the price on the catalog and we later ordered it after telling her the measurement of our opening. A month later we get the door and it is not what we thought we ordered. It was a wood grain door, not the smooth finish MDF door we expected! She then said to us that the door we originally wanted is not available in a custom size. She completely FAILED to tell us this when we ordered the door even though we went back and forth with several calls and emails — NEVER was one word was said that we wouldn’t be getting the same door we saw in the showroom! I am extremely disappointed. I am not sure what the rest of this place is like, but DO NOT USE this salesperson at all.

in my opinion very poor customer service, had a basic/​simple warranty issue they dragged their feet, poor communication, and overall had a don’t care attitude, I will never deal with them again… I wish I had never gone to them… …if you have a small $ 5,000-$ 15,000 projec/​purchase like I had, I know I would have been treated far better at Home Depot or Lowe’s…an amateur operation in my opinion

I was scrambling the other day to get materials to prepare for the upcoming storm, and someone suggested Ganahl, so I headed over. I got a ton of sangbags and a slicker and was in and out in ten minutes. It saved my day and bought me plenty of time to fortify and protect my property. Their staff was super friendly and helpful, and their prices are competitive. Definitely recommend this place.
