NYC Cafe & Catering – Catering

I have used NYC Catering twice now… for a St. Patrick’s Day party and a birthday party. They do a phenomenal job! My guests still rave about it. I decided at the last minute not to cook for 25 people so I called them and Al (the owner) was able to accommodate me only 3 days before the party. I was very pleased. He is super responsive via e-​mail and phone.
His crew delivered corned beef, cabbage slaw, rye bread, and potatoes. Everything was fresh, delicious and delivered promptly! I checked a lot of other places and NYC catering not only delivered but they had the best pricing around. I ordered sandwiches, wings, bruscetta and a salad for the birthday party. Al helped me set everything up too which was really kind of him. The dishes are amazing!
I will definitely be using them again!

We had NYC provide food for my daughters baby shower (first grandchild, so a big deal to us!). Everyone loved the food and I could NOT believe how much food they provided for 35 people, I think it would have served 60! Tons left over. I was worried there would not be enough food. Boy was I wrong! It worked out well for us. Thank you.

I contacted NYC Catering to cater my mom’s funeral service. They were friendly, prompt and professional. The food was delicious; I received nothing but praise from our guest on the server and the food. I was happy to refer Al and NYC Catering to my friends and family.

Amazing Persian food! We had a church conference and worked with Al. He was a pleasure to work with from the beginning. Great communication, great prices, great food, and great service! Catering Order, Disappointing!
We heard good things from multiple people about NYC Café when the food is picked up. So we tried them out for our Christmas Party last weekend for 30 people. We ordered the Chicken Picata and Penne Pasta in a red sauce with and without meat (not sure of the name), salad and bread.
SERVICE (Rating 3.5) Friendly gal delivered it, not quite on time but close.
CHICKEN PICATA (Rating 2) Unfortunately the chicken was overcooked and cut too large and or there just wasn’t enough of it. After the first few people went through the line, the chicken was gone and we were left with a tin of pasta who’s sauce was just so/​so at best. The capers were hard to find in the mounds of pasta left so the flavor was just bla.
PENNE w/​RED SAUCE w/​MEAT (Rating 2) «Where’s the beef» comes to mind. I just couldn’t find any meat and even when looking at the two dishes together (Meat and non-​meat) there was a color differentiation, but there I was guessing at which one had the meat as there just wasn’t much there. Not sure if we got the right order or not to be honest and the taste really wasn’t anything to write home about either.
Disappointed.

A TASTING in San Juan Capistrano. We tasted to select delicious entrees. The food arrived on time and 68 people truly enjoyed the Italian cuisine ! Thank you. Cheryl

We called NYC Café to cater our party. Al responded to my call within minutes, provided easy to read menu options, and answered all of my questions. Really nice guy and easy to work with. My husband & I went to the restaurant in San Juan Cap. We both had great salads. Lots of food, fresh & tasty. I am a big fan of salads. I give NYC Café an A+++ for their salads. We came back a second time and tried their eggplant parmesan. It was FABULOUS!!! The restaurant was setting up for a party of 12. They were decorating the restaurant with balloons, etc, and I noticed they had a cake as well. I asked the server where she purchased the decorations & cake. She was really friendly and helpful. We left with a really good feeling and placed our order for the #1 Italian Combo the next day. It came with choice of entrée, salad and bread. Thru the following week, I continued to have questions. Al was so easy to reach and helpful; he never made me feel like I was pestering him. When party day came, Al texted me at 8:30 AM to confirm delivery time. I really liked that because it started my day with the confidence that he was on it and I didn’t have to worry. I confirmed the time of deliver. He called me on-​time to say he was on his way. He showed up within minutes, helped me determine how to keep the food warm and surprised me with plates, flatware and serving utensils. WOW! I didn’t even expect that. He was really nice. We ordered the eggplant, garden salad and garlic bread combo. I also ordered fried zucchini and bruschetta. Our party was 14 people large and the half pan of these appetizers was perfect. My guests enjoyed every bite! The Combo #1 is advertised to serve from 15 — 20 people and we only ate about half of the food. I sent my guests home with care packages and they were delighted to take it. Food really does make they party! My guests were really happy, had a great time and LOVED the food. The experience was so good and seamless. It took the stress out of party planning and made the event really enjoyable for me as well. Not to mention the great left overs! Thanks so much NYC Café. I look forward to hosting another party with your help.

It was so disgusting. I called back and all they offered was to give me another pasta dish! Why would I want another food item that tasted like cigarettes. So tonight I took one more chance, wow was that stupid. I ordered a gyro plate, small Caesar salad and an actual gyro. What I got was a gyro plate, large Caesar salad and small side salad. What a waste of time and money. I’ve never had a problem ordering delivery from any other place but this one. I’m so disgusted how they run a business. Hire people who care about working for you instead of putting your café to shame.

Amber and another sweet girl catered my wedding and made sure everything went smoothly! They went above and beyond what I had expected and I am so happy that I went with this company! Everything had been so simple and smooth from our tasting to the end of the wedding, not to mention the food was AMAZING!

We used NYC Café Catering for our daughter’s wedding. They delivered to our venue on time and the food was hot. We received many compliments on the pastas and would definitely recommend this place! We recently used NYC for a catering and it was wonderful. Food servings were very large and tasted awesome. Price was perfect for what we ordered. It was delivered on time with no problems at all. I would certainly use NYC again for a catering event.

I fell in love with this place when I did a tasting years ago and have not been disappointed since
they have a bow tie italian dish with sun dried tomato… off the charts! and I didn’t even like sun dried tomatoes before
food is all delicious — seriously I had a hard time deciding on 2 courses
The owner was very friendly and handled my inquiry personally and professionally
I highly recommend this place– the food is worth the price (which is comparable to other catering companies)
A must try if you enjoy Italian food, or anything else they offer
And the service was great! food delivery arrived earlier than expected so there was time to set up before everyone ate– and the attendants were awesome

Excellent Food! With blind luck I stumbled upon this establishment and they are awesome. I made a quick call to see about catering for my Super Bowl party for 30. Within an hour I had a few menus prepared with prices. Very efficient.
They arrived on time to my event and everything in order. My guests raved about their pasta and lasagne. The chicken wings were a big hit. Not too spicy but very flavorful so good for both adults and kids. Great place!

Had this company cater a party and everyone really enjoyed the Italian dishes that were served. I found the company was very budget-​friendly and is staffed with friendly/​helpful people. I will use them again in the future based on my experience.

Awesome place for catering. We get this once a week at my work and the owner Al is really easy to work with and very accommodating. The food is always on time and it’s always really good. Their pastas are amazing and their fajitas are so flavorful. I highly recommend this for catering!

Had Alan cater a patient Day of Beauty for 40 people at a private home. Unfortunately, the catering Italian menu was very limited. Chose two chicken pastas — both dishes were cold despite ordering (at extra cost) the chafing dishes and heaters (they should have you take them home earlier and get the water boiling before the food arrives). Salads were basic, nothing special. Garlic bread wad cold and soggy. Would I order again — No. Would I recommend — No. Discussed all this with the owner before posting. Much better out there than this for $ 450. Also charged for basic plastic forks, napkins, plates which should be included for this price for pasta and salad ! Also refused to negotiate price after I increased size of attendees from 30 to 40.

I needed an Italian caterer fast. Al worked with me to create a perfect menu and was very responsive with my many folllow-​up questions. The event went flawlessly. He arrived on time and set everything up perfectly. The food was OUTSTANDING and the price was certainly reasonable. Al and his crew were helpful, friendly and professional during the entire evening. Looking forward to trying their other menu items. I will definitely use them again.
