Bakery La Mejor

came here once or twice for the buns. wasn’t that impressed to return.
now it’s a salvadorean bakery selling deliz tamales and pastries.

I ordered a tres leches cake from here, and was pretty happy. It was fresh and moist, as it should be. If you don’t know about tres leches cakes, heres a link:

They are heavier than your average American bakery cake, so I was taken aback on how heavy this was. What’s amazing about this bakery is that everything is Word of Mouth. They have NO TELEPHONE! The telephone listed, NOPE, it DON’T WORK.
Yeah, that’s right, I had to just go and wait around for the cake, because I couldn’t call to find out if it was ready. Despite the no phone thing, though, everytime I go there, it is SOO busy, and I see people ordering cakes despite that setback. The reason they got a star knocked off was because of the phone thing. I had to wait an hour for my cake. I take some of the blame, I arrived early. But if they had a phone, I wouldn’t have. I have to give them credit for a cake well done though. Plus, the owner threw in a soda for me so I wouldn’t wait thirstily. At least he acknowledged me, I’ll give him that. Otherwise, a thriving neighborhood bakery and rightfully so.
