Delicious pork buns. The chow mein and sesame buns were okay. Will definitely try again!

This place has delicious baked goods, but runs our pretty quickly! If you want to get anything, be sure to come early. I didn’t give them 4 stars because the service is a little slow and the cashiers are rude. If I’m in dire need to fulfill a craving, I’ll definitely come back! If not, I’ll venture out to other cities that have tons of options of baked Asian goods.

Came here around 5:30PM on a weekday, and the selection was picked-over leaving basic pickings… Got a few things: Baked bbq pork bun — Great taste but lacked in fillings(ate on the spot) Baked coconut bun — Excellent(wife ate on the spot) To go: Steamed chicken bun — very nice mushroom flavor. Delicious sausage and egg on the inside. I think they may have been a little stingy on the filling here too… I also got some steamed mini bbq buns to go, but have not yet gotten into them.

I havent been here in years but was in the area and having prego cravings for cocktail buns and egg tarts. Sad to say I had to get rid of a star after todays visit. Prices have gone up to a $ 1 a bun and $ 1 an egg tart is outrageous. The egg tart could of been baked longer to have a more hard and toasted crust. The custard was wet and just didnt hit the spot like before. The younger chick isnt so friendly sort of what do you want attitude and no good morning how can I help you. Smh I am soo sad its not the same :(

I had been wanting to try pork buns before I always thought that maybe the filing was more like an egg roll… Lol… On my younger sister bday my oldest sister brought over the steamed BBQ pork buns and also a few baked BBQ pork buns… I tried both and my fav were the baked ones but I also did like the steamed ones … This place has a lot of stuff on the menu that i would like to try maybe next time! I will definitely be going back to try other things on their menu!

Ehhh, Chinese food was so so. I got chicken and vegetables. Took a while. Service wasn’t the greatest. But apparently the bread is good, so next time I’ll try it, if I go back

Honestly I’m just glad there is a bakery place around my place. This place isn’t a 85 degree bakery or Sheng kee bc it doesn’t have buns available. They don’t really have many of there buns cook so you would have to wait for them to make it. If you live in San Leandro or San Lorenzo, come here. Service isn’t the greatest and a lot of buns aren’t available. I want to give this place more stars but I can’t I’ll update my review when I try there dim sum.

Very average baked Chinese buns. Good for a quick craving fix — they’re all very small buns with cheap quality, but you get what you pay for. Most are $ 1. Located in a residential area, so not very authentic/meant as a representation of Chinese food. Huge koi inside though!

I think I found my new East Bay place for BBQ Pork buns! Steamed and Baked variety. Priced at $ 1.00 each, it’s about the going price. Maybe I can get them for 10 cents cheaper in Chinatown, but so not worth the hassle of going down there and fighting parking. I used to wait in line on the sidewalk outside of Tao Yuen to get tasty bao pork buns while the BF circled the block in the car, cause parking was so bad. Pick me up on the next lap babe! No, none of that here! Just park the damn car and go in! I just love the egg custard tarts here, the crust is just the right flakiness and the center filling nice and eggy how like it. The baked baos, BBQ pork buns are good and the best the day you buy them. I still take a bunch home and freeze them since I don’t live super close to here and take them back up to Reno when I spend time up there. These are way better than the ones at the one bakery in Reno, plus cheaper. All kinds of other baked good are on offer here as well, including different bread buns. They even have jook here, rice porridge! It’s more of a to go place really, rather than a real restaurant. I’m just happy not to have to drive down and try to park in Chinatown. There are some places out in Dublin… nice suburban clean in the new Chinese area of east Dublin, but the food is just not as good and the lines long, even in the bakeries. I bought a doz baked pork buns… let’s just see how long those last at the house with Mom, Dad and sis all munching on then too!

This place is so delicious. I found them a while back while Unilocaling different bakeries that sold moon cakes. I initially went to a bakery off of East 14th, but when I realize that it was the wrong bakery I took my butt down to this place because this was the place that I wanted to try it out instead of the other bakery. I am so glad I did that because when I took my first bite out of my coconut moon cake I was in delicious bliss. Today I had family come over from Texas and I wanted them, as well as myself, try out something different and delicious so I ordered a little bit of everything from their bakery. The fish buns are to die for, their baked pork buns are amazing, their coconut bun is also to die for. This is by far my favorite Chinese bakery. Not only because everything is so good, but because everything is so fresh.

Great service but mediocre meal. Shrimp dumplings are made to order and takes 20 minutes to prepare. The shell is limp and greasy, shrimp over cooked with a cheap taste. Their custard pie is decent. It had a flaky, loose shell with a slightly over powering egg yolk inner custard. They did not have white vinegar.

I found out about this place through a old co-worker that always went there for the cha siu bao(BBQ pork buns). I personally go there for the don tats(egg custards), for myself and for the office. I also have purchased the moon cakes and other Chinese pastries, they usually have a large selections of items. During Chinese New Years you can also purchase the New Year’s sponge cakes(no idea on how to spell that one, depends on which dialect you speak as well). Since they open at 7am, I am able to grab stuff for work and get in the office by 8am. Outside of the pastries, you are completely covered from rice plates, dim sum, sandwiches, drinks and party trays. And if that was not enough, frozen items to take home!

Love coming here for the Chinese beef stew, one of my go-to’s when I don’t want to cook in the middle of the week. Baked goods: their BBQ pork buns are yummy with perfectly cooked onions! I also like the ham and cheese bun. Kiddo likes the mini hot dogs. The egg and ham bun is bland. The rest are pretty standard fare. I wish they had buns with the shredded dried pork. Cakes: decently priced. Not a lot of variety but made just the way I like! Got the mixed fruit cake once. It had chunks of fruit on top and in the middle with whip cream(none of that over-sweet buttercream stuff!). Made also with fresh baked angel food cake! Cooked foods: haven’t strayed far from trying much other than the beef stew – savory! I’ve also tried the Kung Pao chicken and Mongolian beef which were fine, not impressive. Pearl drinks: not my favorite place for pearl drinks but pretty good with perfectly cooked tapioca. Will eventually try the dim sum. They have tables and chairs to sit in and dine but it’s more of a take out place.

Bakery and pastries 3 stars. Dim sum 1 star. We usually order the mini hot dogs in bulk for special events/meetings and they have consistently been okay. Baked fresh and the bread is soft, and hot dog tasty. The other pastries are of equal par and palatable. I’ve had dim sum here 2 times. Once out of curiosity, and the second time because I had no choice(friends really wanted something close and quick). The dim sum here is covered and soaking with oil. Sorry, just not my cup of tea(which you need tons of to wash down the oil gunk in your mouth after every bite). If you go here, do so for their pastries if you have no other options. Go elswhere for dim sum.

Always on point with the xiu mai, sticky rice and CHICKENFEET! If you haven’t tried their version of chicken feet, you haven’t lived. They also have bomb eggtarts, xar xiu bao and other pastries. They also have a wide varieties of drinks. Ex. Ice coffee, milk tea etc. Plated dishes are ok. They serve a 3:1 ratio vegetable: meat. Its only fine with me because their flavor is on point, but I wish they portioned the meat with veges evenly. They also give alot of rice(all the time). Everything on their menu is cheap and very affordable. I don’t have anything bad to say about this place. Always satisfied. Its the 3rd time I came here this month with my girl and we never had anything bad of an experience with this place. Right on!

What is this rando Chinese bakery in the middle of nowhere and why does it have 100+ reviews? I dropped by with some friends on the way to Emeryville and got an order of lotus rice chicken(lo mai gai) and a grandma cake(lo po bin?), $ 4 total. The lo mai gai(one order = 2 wraps) was pretty good, the pastry was really really not good. So I guess this place is a crapshoot… Wouldn’t come back, I’d rather use my calories on a guaranteed tasty place.

Overall, would come back! This place is super cheap, and it looks like they have super high turnover so everything is likely to be quite fresh. I’d recommend takeaway it for its savory pastries and egg tarts, rather than sitting down. Here’s what we got: — Egg tart: very tasty, whole family liked it! — Paper chiffon cake: a bit too dry but good because it wasn’t too sweet or too eggy — BBQ pork buns: baked and steamed, family really liked both! Will have to try other items, would hypothetically knock a star for the location/interior — but good asian pastries are hard to come by!

I can’t quite compliment on anything else but the egg tarts here. Out of all the places in the area, Chinese Bakery and Deli still have the most consistent egg tarts. They do sell out! And they sell out often. If you know for sure you’re going to make the trek out, call ahead and place your to-go order to ensure they’ll be there when you arrive. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve showed up and the person in front of me bought the last of the batch. The egg tarts are flaky, yet crispy(soggy tarts are such a no-no), and the custard is creamy and not over baked. Consistency seems to be pretty good here, although I’ve been here once or twice and sadly got the last few tarts on the tray and they weren’t the prettiest ones. But when you have a craving, you just go for it! Parking is always ample in the small yet quite sketchy shopping center.

What a hidden gem! This dim sum place is sooo good!!! The restaurant is located in a small plaza that is really run down and outdated. Hence the star, however the food is cheap and bomb! We ordered hot dog buns($ 1), chicken curry bun($ 1), custard tarts(.80cents), Sui Mai-4 pieces($ 3), baked and steamed BBQ buns, all large portions and really delicious! I don’t really eat half of what we ordered but I did try everything, which was all really good! We had to wait about 15 min for the sui mai and shrimp and the lady that helped us was a bit moody, but overall, I would definitely come back. They also serve Chinese food, which I plan to try next time.
