Clark’s U-Save Rockery Home and Garden Center

I have been coming here regularly in the past 2 months to get concrete and every time has been a great experience the staff is very helpful and always ready to answer any questions you may have. Amador works in loading and concrete mixing and he definitely knows his job, If you are thinking of renting the trailer with a yard of concrete bring your Drivers license and proof of insurance make it easy on yourself and make sure you bring it with you, for obvious reasons they won’t rent the trailer without the proof of insurance. Thank you everyone at Clarks for getting me in and out in no time!

Walked in asked for help with building a fire pit. The clerk or front guy completely rude. Insulting in the manned he talked. I simply had to leave for how defeating he talked toward me. I can write good and bad reviews. This guy is rude. Blond bears with glasses. I left did not buy will not buy here anything.

I had forgotten about this place until I was reminded about it by my landscape contractor. Decent selection, nice fabricated fountains. Not a huge place like American Soil in Richmond. Service was adequate. Easy parking next to their office inside the lot, or on the street. Got my mulch and rock here and it all worked out for me.

I found what I was looking for here and it was reasonably priced. I liked that I could look around and hand pick what I wanted. The prices were listed on all products which made it nice, The guy who works at the desk inside was helpful but the staff outside was a little rude. The $ 50 delivery fee is a little steep when I only live a mile away, but its not like i was able to transport the stuff home. Im giving a low review because the truck literally dumped the rock I ordered all over my driveway, it rolled everywhere including into my neighbors yard. I feel like stuff should have been delivered on a pallet or that I could have been given a heads up and I would have laid down a tarp or provided a pallet. Even home depot puts stuff on a pallet for you.

I’ve done some major landscaping projects with my front yard and after looking around the Oakland/​Berkeley corridor, Clark’s easily had the best selection of rocks and stones.
They have a huge lot and you can meander around and pick out the stones/​rocks/​bricks that you want.
The staff will help you order what you need but sometimes they can be a bit condescending when they know you’re not a contractor. I ended up ordering Mexican pebble (medium) and some flagstone with blue rock/​sand as the base.
When they delivered the stones they put the stones where I needed them so that was a big help.
Overall, a solid place to order rocks for your DIY landscape projects. Just don’t be put off if they give a little attitude inside.

The young lady who took the order was friendly. That’s the best of it.
I ordered Large and Medium size «Black & White» rocks so we don’t have small pieces.
Unfortunately, the pile was full of small and very small pieces.
I also ordered compost. Each bucketful of compost had a handful of concrete type rocks sizes from 1/​8″ to 1″. This was not expected. Spending a lot of time taking them out.
Also, I was told delivery would be $ 70 but I was charged $ 75
So, overall, not very happy.

Went to Clark’s San Leandro this morning to pick up bark for my yard. Ordered 2 bags MEDIUM bark which was loaded into my car. Had to go back for 2 more bags this afternoon and ordered the SAME thing — 2 bags MEDIUM bark. Got a different size bark the second time — looked like probably SMALL size when I got it home. If they didn’t have MEDIUM they should have told me — not just substituted SMALL for MEDIUM :-(Very disappointed and will probably not go back again. They charge more than other places and I ASSUMED I was getting better service — NOT!

Was searching the East Bay for a reasonably priced bird bath and made quite a few stops, not finding quite what I wanted. Made my way to San Leandro to Clarks and couldn’t be more glad that I did. They clearly cater to builders, but they had exactly what I wanted and at an amazing price. The guys working the counter were super friendly, and when I complained about the hot day, one of them brought me out an ice cold bottle of water. Can you beat that?

We bought about 2000 lbs. of rocks for our pond construction. As soon as we got there, Rafael helped us what and how to purchase the rocks we wanted. Although we got there with only 30 min. left before closing, everyone there was patient and helpful. Prices seems cheaper too compared to the one in San Ramon. We are happy to find this place.
When it was time for delivery, the driver went extra miles to not break our rocks so instead of literally dumping them, which is what we paid for, he slid each rock from the tilted truck bed and we covered the ground with old wood panels we happened to have, so the rocks didn’t crack much. You spread it around. Your friends come over and tell you how brilliant you are. You ponder a career of patio design. You actually look up «How to become a landscape artist» on google. You realize you just need a giant truck and the ability to quote massive amounts of money to people.
Then you pat yourself on the back for going to Clark’s yourself, buying the same stuff the landscape artist was proposing to you, spreading it around, and making your crappy yard look amazeballs.
