Horrible service. Showed up 2 hours after the scheduled time, never called to update being late and then had to come back to fix the repair again.

I had a new Garage Door, and Motor installed last October, by LaVerne, and he did a great job. Recently, the door has been sticking on the rail so I called to get an appointment, and was told Laverne no longer worked their, but I was given an appointment for, Tuesday, ¹¹⁄₁₆ between 2 and 4PM. When no one showed I called, and was told the technician was running late, so we made an appointment for Wednesday, 11/​17, from: 12 to 3PM, and again no show. I got a call saying the technician had a difficult door to repair, and have never gotten a call since, and today is Thursday, ¹¹⁄₁₉. My question is: Do you only have one Technician, and how hard is it to keep a schedule that you created. LaVerne was a professional, and that is probably why he no longer works at Door-​Mart, or should I say Poor-​Mart! I wouldn’t ever use them again, and hopefully, no one else will!!!

Do not use this company. I am so disappointed in their service. Wish I would have checked Unilocal before I called them. I used them many years ago so when the springs broke I just called them again. The tech never showed up the first time I scheduled him. He was running late, but they didn’t inform me until I called after sitting here for the 4 hour window waiting.
When I rescheduled, it was a nice young man who came out and repaired the springs, which cost over $ 500. Before he repaired the door my garage light worked. After he left, the light was not working. My husband changed the bulb, but the light still did not work. So I called to have a tech out. The first thing he said when he saw we had a fluorescent bulb in there was, that those do not work on a garage door b/​c they are not long enough. I gave him an incandescent light and it worked. AND they wanted me to pay $ 85 for that, after I paid over $ 500 to repair it. Obviously, if it had not been for the timing, I would accept the responsibility, but seriously it worked the morning he came and didn’t work when he left. If you own a company there is something called customer service. These people have no idea what that is. So save yourself some trouble and use a company that understands the concept. It’s not like they are giving you a deal. After paying $ 500, you would think they would make sure it was working as well as when they came. I’m sure that when he changed the springs he jiggled the light enough to shake the wires in light and that is why it stopped working. Seems reasonable that they would just fix it and not charge me $ 85 for the 5 minute call.

I would have given Door Mart no stars if I could. This company is terrible! It would seem some «branches» have ok people (based on some good reviews) but I have had nothing but bad service and lying sales people.
I had a garage door installed a little over a year ago and it didn’t go well. They came to install the door and didn’t have the right parts. Had to go back for the parts. Then it took too long to finish install and they had to come back next day. Multiple issues in installation.
Flash forward to a year later and I had a problem with the door going down and going back up. It wouldn’t close and stop. Called it in and made appt. for 8−11am service window two days later. Called them at 9:30a day of to make sure they were coming, told yes they were. Didn’t show up. They said tech had an «emergency» call and would be there 2−4p. You guessed it… no show. They called at 4:30 and said he’s going to be there 30 mins. When he did show he was rude, uninterested in the problem, seemed to blow off the whole issue. (The door unexplainably started working right before he got there). I asked him to lubricate the door as it was very noisy; sounding like a 20 yr old door instead of one year old) he said ok that’ll be $ 139 for the service call! I said this door is really new, why can’t you just spray your lub on it without charging me? He looked at me blankly and said its $ 139. I said I’m not paying you $ 139 to spray my hinges for what should be «under warranty» I told him to get lost.
When I called to talk to the owner/​manager I was told he was in a meeting. Riigghht.
Fly by night, unprofessional, unfriendly, not someone to do business with!

Dealing with Door-​Mart is incredibly frustrating:
1. Garage door stopped working, technician came out, stayed for 10min and reprogrammed it. It seemed to work.
2. Next day it was broken again. We made an appointment but the technician never showed up
3. When he arrived at the next scheduled appointment, he seemed irritated to have to «fix» the unit again, as if it was somehow our fault. Stayed for 10min, did *something*, it seemed to work.
4. Three days later the unit fails again. We schedule an appointment to get the motor replaced
5. On the morning of the scheduled replacement we get a call saying the technician is sick, can we reschedule
6. We can’t even call the 800 number, as we continually get a «can’t complete your call, code 253» message
Exasperated, we canceled the appointment and, based upon positive Unilocal reviews, scheduled an appointment with Integrity Garage Doors. What a breath of fresh air! They came out within hours and properly addressed the issue. I am going to post a well-​deserved 5-​star review for Integrity Garage Doors.

If I could put 0 stars I would. Saturday the garage door did not work and my husband called. They came out and said they fixed it Sunday very quickly. My husband paid them $ 238. One hour later my husband tried to open the door and it was stuck half way. He called them and they would not come back to fix it till Monday. I said the door is open and my house was at risk for being robbed. They still would not send anyone out until Monday they said, «close to 7am» at 8am I called and they said they were just going to call me… I rescheduled for 4−6pm. At 6:15 pm I called and they said they were trying to find someone. I said, «why dont they call me then?» I called back 8 times and was put on hold and hung up on various times. They said they would come at 9pm. It is now 10pm!!! The door is still broke. Ted was the repair man who did NOT fix the door. DO NOT waste your time with this company. Also, they are not open 24 hrs a day 365 days a week, as they advertise on their hold music!

These guys just hit my last nerve… calling for the owner on my next call. The tech today was extremely rude… didn’t introduce himself then wanted to argue about a weather seal and irs purpose (mine was bent in on one small section prior to install) I was told during my call no problem they would fix it (tech didn’t even bring one with him… just argued it wasn’t impacting tje performance of the piece and that you couldn’t see it from the outside… told him to not argue and I would call it in again) and take care of a cracked window.
I almost didn’t get the door from them, but they wouldn’t issue a refund on my deposit. They were late on the quote, didn’t call to setup an install appointment and charged my credit card… that’s when I called for a refund. It was like breaking up with a girlfriend… the sales person said «I wasn’t being fair» when I wanted a refund because the service /​timing was a joke!
Save ur sanity, time and possibly money… go elsewhere!

I wish Unilocaled offered Zero or better yet, negative stars. 7−11−14 we got a quote to have a Garage door installed by a Mr. Canington. He took measurements and went over what they have for our garage. After looking around for other quotes we found that Door-​Mart was our best fit and local. We gave them a $ 150 deposit (10%). Then we get a call stating that we need an electrician to run electricity and had to hire one??? We have power in our garage hence the lights and washer, dryer located in the same space. We tried to cancel, they said they wold see what they could do. They said they hired an electrician for no extra charge, we said fine and scheduled a date. 7÷18÷14 When the installer came to do the work he told us that we didn’t need an electrician we had power and we would be loosing our shelves on both sides of the garage, that were full at the time. Canington never mentioned this, which would had been a MAJOR thing to deiced. Then the electrician came out he also said we didn’t need to run a separate electrical wiring, we just need a grounder that we could get at home depot. He also said they could install the door without taking down the shelves, that they would build in the surround and install a smaller door. Another major job that wasn’t explained to us as an option. We decided not to instal the door. We call to get our deposit back and were told that they would have to research this and someone will call back. it is now 7÷29÷2014 and we have called 5 times with no call back. Today we were just now told that we would not be able to get our refund back because we canceled on the install date??? WE FOUND OUT ALL THE CHANGES THAT NEEDED TO BE MADE ON THE INSTALL DATE!!! If we had known about the changes we wouldn’t have gone forward with the install. Now we are waiting for a person named Josh to call us back with a decision in 30 mins! They now have 7 seconds before we call them. 12:15 pm call. Guess what, Josh went on break/​lunch/​he just stepped out and then was told he wouldn’t be back till after 1pm. Now waiting on the line for them to find another person in charge. Now were told they called him and he’s getting a bite to eat and will call when he is in the office… We got a call back from Josh and he tried to tell us that we signed a contract and were supposedly told all this up front which is a lie. He said he will look for the contract and get back to us and if there is no contract, that he already said we signed, they would process the refund. Call back from Kathryn: Guess what there isn’t a signed contract according to her and our refund is being processed OVER A WEEK LATER!!! I guess Michael Finey doesn’t have to get involved. Now to post an update to his Facebook profile.

This company gets a zero in customer service. I had a garage door installed but Steve S. said he forgot the dividers that go in the windows. He said he would be back within a few days and that they just snap in so it wouldn’t take long. He also stated I didn’t have to be home as it could be done from the outside.
When he didn’t show up I called 1800−829−9833 and they kept making appointments which I stayed home for and no one EVER came. There was no call saying they couldn’t make it or any contact what so ever! They’re inserts for Gods sake. It’s not like it’s a major job.
I have just made a 9^th phone call and I’m assured it will be done tomorrow. I’m a bit skeptical as I’ve heard that 9 times.

The technician just left so I am writing to say I’m really happy I chose this company. They showed up early and call when he was 20 mins out. The work took the time he estimated and he even was willing to allow a bit of negotiation. Joe was a good polite and cool guy to have working on my home

Wow! $ 900 an hour for labor, Door-​Mart charged me $ 450 for 29 minutes work with no parts used.
Here is my saga: My garage door would not close, the cable on the left side of the door had come loose. I decided to see if I could reattach the cable from inside the garage. But then when the door closed it would not open again and I was stuck inside the garage. (There is only one entrance into my garage). I called my wife and asked her to call a Garage door company and say it was an emergency as I was stuck inside the garage. She Goggled Garage door companies and found Door-​Mart.
She called them at 1250pm, The lady in the office said they would have someone out within 2 hours. Meanwhile I am sweltering hot in the garage, the door is actually in panels, so I un screwed the bottom panel and was able to crawl out of the garage.
The door-​mart guy finally arrived at 440pm, (am I glad I was able to get out of the garage earlier), Anyway the technician Steve looked at the door and said it was the worst possible case he could deal with, «It was a crashed door» and the cost would be $ 650, He stated all kinds of things like it was dangerous, he could lose a finger fixing it etc etc. I asked him how long it would take and what was the hourly rate. if it took five hours at a $ 100 a hour etc???
It said it didnt work that way, I said everyone works that way, you charge a call out fee and the rest is parts and labor. I said there was no way I would pay $ 650 to get it fixed. He called his office and then said he would do it for $ 450, It is now almost 5pm and I either pay him or have my garage door open all night with valuables inside.
So I had to go for it.
I put the timer on my Iphone at 502pm the minute he started. I have to say he was excellent at his job, He put the door panels back on and re-​attached the cable, and oiled the door in exactly 29 minutes.
I am super satisfied with the work but not with the price.
It was a total «Gotcha» .
I would never call this company ever again.

I posted 2 very bad posts. problem solved by manager, only fair to note… but. does not change the fact that today is the 4^th day I had to change my work schedule to be here to fix… from my experience, once the technician gets on job, they are well trained & do great job, the problem is with people that answer the phones. condensending&act like .oh so you sat home another whole day & no one showed up. ho –hum.can we re-​scheduled you for tomorrow!!! Door –Mart…maybe you need to pay those people a couple more bucks, may help them act like they care…

I second the earlier reviews that indicate that this is a dishonest company, out to gouge the consumer if at all possible. That was certainly my experience.
In December, I opened my garage door, only to have it immediately come crashing back down. I was leaving for an extended trip early the next morning and knew I needed to get it fixed immediately I have a regular garage door company that I call when I have problems but they weren’t open. I was thrilled to discover in the yellow pages (yes some of us still use them!) ads for companies that performed work at night so I called one. As a prior reviewer has indicated, this company goes by many names so I can’t tell you which ad I responded to. They said they’d send someone out that night. I asked about extra charges and they said there would be a $ 129 service charge but that otherwise the work would be charged at your regular daytime rates.
Ted arrived a couple of hours later and said that the springs had broken on my door and needed to be replaced. He quoted me a price of $ 800. I said that seemed like a lot and again, I asked if there was a different price at night than during the day. Again, he told me that only the service charge was extra. I really had no choice but to pay to have the door fixed, which he did. He led me to believe that the amount he charged customers and the warranty he gives them is totally up to his judgement and that he earned a commission based on the price charged.
When I returned from my trip, I happened to be at a neighbor’s house and she mentioned that the springs on her garage door had broken the day before and she’d had to get them fixed. I asked her how much it had cost and she said $ 240. The next day I called the company that regularly services my garage door and asked how much it would have cost for them to replace the 2 yellow springs, if I’d been able to wait to have it done during their regular hours. They told me it would have been $ 250. When I told the owner of that company that I’d been charged $ 800, he gasped and then told me which agencies to contact to complain about being ripped off by Door-​Mart.
Prior to doing that, I called Door Mart anonymously to find out how much it would cost to have 2 yellow springs replaced. I was told that the cost of the springs would be $ 119 per spring and the labor would be $ 99, for a total charge of $ 337. If the job was done at night, there would also be a $ 129 service charge. That adds up to $ 466, slightly more than 50% of the amount I was charged.

I sent the Martins a certified letter, giving them all the information and asking for a refund of $ 334 (the difference between what they say they charge and the amount I was charged). About a week later, I received a phone call from the Lavern at Door Mart. He kept me on the phone for about an hour and kept repeating the following points over and over:
– Door-​Mart provided me with a service and expected to be paid for providing that service — Well, duh. And I did pay. But I was overcharged
– Door-​Mart has been in business for 35 years — I am also the owner of a small business (with 400 clients) and have been in business for 35 years as well.
– Door-​Mart was willing to come out late at night when no other garage door companies would do that — Apparently he’s not aware that there are other garage door companies that do emergency work ²⁴⁄₇. And I was willing to pay for that extra service. I willingly paid $ 129 beyond what I would have paid if I’d have the same service done during the daytime. However, I was not willing to be taken advantage of by being charged an exorbitant amount because I was in desperate need of the service.
His strategy worked and he wore me down. I agreed to a $ 200 refund instead of the amount I’d requested. I pointed out that he had my charge card number and he said he’d take care of the refund in the next week. That was in February. When I had heard nothing by the end of April, I sent another certified letter. Soon thereafter, with no further contact, I got a $ 200 credit on my charge card statement.
Stay away from a company that’s willing to treat their customers like this.

We called Door Mart in the morning at 10 since or garage door wouldn’t open. They agreed to come in between 11 – 1:30 and I took the day off work so we could get the door fixed. They never showed so we called them. They said there was a mistake in scheduling, would not let me talk to the manager and then hung up on me.

Absolutely terrible service and not someone I would ever try to hire again. I contacted them today to get a same day repair on a garage door opener they had fixed. Initially, they said that they would arrive between 2:30 — 4:30. Unsurprisingly, they never showed up. When I called them at 4:30, they said, oh the technician would not be there until sometime between 4:30 — 6:30. At 6:30, I called again and I was told that they couldn’t do anything to help and that the earliest it would be was tomorrow. They wouldn’t give me a new time and essentially said that it sucked to be me to have to take a day off work to be around when they didn’t show up.

Recently, I purchased the deal through Amazon locals for inspection and maintenance for $ 45 (Reg $ 150).
Our technician came ahead of schedule with a courtesy call ahead of time.
Technician inspected all the parts and motor in a few minutes and then recommended that the spring be readjusted as the garage door was closing on its own which it shouldn’t. He called the company and said that there is an additional charge of $ 99 for the adjusting of the spring which is in addition to the $ 45 that I had paid for the inspection and maintenance voucher.
Wife decided to call the company herself and requested for some type of discount since the technician was here already and the voucher was a little confusing as to whether spring adjustment was part of the maintenance work.
One of the gentleman on the phone was able to give us a great deal just to ensure that we were happy. The technician proceeded with the adjustment and lubricated all the wheels and moving parts.
We are very satisfied and we were glad we actually spoke to them directly to negotiate the additional deal.
This is how a service business should be run. I will recommend them to my friends and family.

Technician by the name BEN was 2 hours late. Overcharged me massively. $ 300 to change a $ 20 part in 20 minutes. New garage door opener is only $ 199 at Home Depot. They told me that the parts were made in USA and I got a good deal. When I saw that he changed this part with only a screwdriver and his barehands in 20 minutes I was shocked! I got hustled and overcharged. I called some other shops to ask what they would charge and most of them said to do that same repair they would only charge on average about $ 150 – 175! I called back and spoke with the manager Scott and he didn’t seem to care. He told me that I got a good deal.
I am very dissappointed with the misleading advertising on their website. They talk about their Mission and Values and offering the customer quality service but very affordable prices.

I found these words were not true. The total time from arrival to leaving was less than 1 hour. In fact the repair was completed in approximately 20 minutes. The part only cost about $ 30 – 40 new. So for 1 hour of labor I was charged $ 260 – 270!!! That is ridiculously high and not what I would call affordable! In fact the technician had tried to get me to pay more initially demanding $ 350 for 20 minutes of service!

The service was provided in Tracy, CA. This company has a chain of offices throughout california. I believe the technician BEN who came to my home works out of the Stockton, CA office. The manager there goes by the name SCOTT. I spoke with Scott afterwards about the overcharge and he refused to do anything for me. He told me «There is no law against overcharging somebody!» I would shocked beyond belief!
Good luck you all, and always get a FREE estimate first and call for second quote before going ahead with these guys, as they will gouge the consumer if you let them! Beware this company has some dishonest techs and managers that will try to overcharge you for services and parts.

I’m disappointed and felt tricked by this company.
My garage door’s spring broke this morning, and I found in the penny saver booklet Door Mart’s ad: «Best Price», so I gave them a call. They gave me an appointment between 1−3pm. They did not come until 3:30. The guy quoted me $ 195 to replace one broken spring, but another company quoted me $ 167 plus $ 5 off (R&S company-​but can’t come till the next day). So the repair tech said $ 175 is the lowest price he can do. He repaired my garage quickly ~20 minutes. He did not even lube any spring/​roller. I paid $ 175. But, they actually have a promo on their web site for $ 129 for repair of one broken spring, and $ 189 for two. I am very disappointed with them for not being on time and not being honest with their pricing. Hopefully, they will honor their warranty on their parts (10 years?) and labor (only 30 days –compared to 90 days with other companies) when the time comes.

STELLAR. Last night my boyfriend, whose nickname, not coincidentally, is DEMO, something did something unfortunate to the jackwhat that connects to the whosit that has to do with the cable on the… whatever, the damn door was busted. So he starts calling around this morning, made an appointment with a very rude person at a company that got ONE star on this site (DEMO is not a Unilocaler, so he had no idea; thanks, Angie’s List, NOT) but then found these guys. He called, liked their vibe, and cancelled with the other folks. An hour later these guys show up, fix our problem, and for $ 99 were back out on the road with 15 minutes. TOP NOTCH. He also took the time and effort to lube everything up, so no more squeaking as we’ve been used to. I hope not to have to mess with my door again any time soon, but if I do, Door Mart will be my go-​to guys.
