They were able to fit me in the same day for a haircut and Rosa was amazing! The studio is super cute and everyone there was very friendly. I received a ton of compliments after my haircut, and even my husband complimented me! I will definitely be back!

I got my hair cut by Rosa. She was awesome! I showed her a bunch of pictures with ideas, and she took the time to explain the difference between each one, then gave me her opinion and the cut turned out exactly how she said it would! I loved it!

My first time ever at a salon and Rosa made it so comfortable for me felt like home! I love her! She’s popppppin and she did a fabulous job on my hair! I wouldn’t mind going to her again! I even met the owner Kim and she was fun to talk to as well! I was so nervous at first but I felt really good after like 10 mins I felt easy and not so nervous anymore! Thank you so much Rosa you made me feel beautiful again!!!

I rarely write reviews unless I am extremely pleased or need to warn people. As for Lacquer, my review of 5 stars speaks for itself *(if I could give them 10, I would).
In a «nut shell «, having been a city girl for several years I recently moved to SL. This combined with my professional experience has given me the knowledge to know what it takes to truly obtain great hair; basically I’m not easy and I expect exceptional results. Once your in the hands of a «Classically Trained Stylist», you will never except less (at least I won’t).
After researching salons from Oakland to Castro Valley, I finally decided on, Lacquer.
I had my 1^st appointment with Rosa, for a haircut.. She took off just the right amoun-​t enough to ensure the integrity of the hair, but not to much. I prefer it on the long side, which often gets disregarded if stylists aren’t listening or paying attention. After meeting her I knew I was in great hands, I decided to go forth with my color appointment. My color could not have turned out any better: reds vary and are not the easiest to explain, –she «nailed it»!!! The other thing I noticed is that it seems be retaining color vibrancy much longer than any other former salon of mine.
Rosa, has officially filled the position as my new hair stylist!
Kim, the owner is also pretty awesome. She has done a great job combining her flair of vintage with an eclectic twist. overall the ambiance is inviting comfortable and fun.
I left feeling as though I know the «Kool Kids» in the neighborhood…

Had a great first time service with Rosa at Lacquer Studios. I needed assistance with a cut and styling and management of my very fine, yet crazy curly hair. She nailed it! I felt welcomed and she made me feel like my needs really do matter and that she is helping a sister out! Highly recommended. This place has been my godsend! Rosa has rescued me from my poor hair choices. Her cuts and colors work so well for my head, and sitting in her chair is always a delight. She’s got my loyalty for sure.

Ok let me just say that ROSA is a true artist in every sense of the word. There is nothing too intimidating for her and she will tell you if what you are asking for is a bad idea. Her prices are fair and even cheap compared to SF. The studio is comfortable with no parking issues. If you want a SF experience (minus the high cost, parking tickets, commute) there is no other place you will want to go. I am SO SO SO SO SO happy she is on this side of the bridge!

This review is for Rosa (or the legendary Bunny Pistol).where to even start? Bunny is for sure a hair expert in every sense, she cuts and colors and transforms people. I am addicted to her before and afters on her facebook page and she has been doing my highlights for years (she threw in a buzz and bleach when I needed it), always on point, always listens and doesn’t hold back on input, never disappoints and always makes you feel like a million pesos! I have sent tons of people to her and everbody loves her, she has a really wide range. On a personal note she is just a treasure, loves her craft and has such passion for it. To know her is to love her.
What ever you want to happen on top of your head… Rosa will make it happen.

Where do I start. Kimberly is by far, hands down, THE BEST, most knowledgeable hair dress! This girl KNOWS her stuff let me tell yu!
After being with 1 hairdresser for over 10+ years I decided it was time for a change.
It’s when I decided to give a salon in Walnut Creek a try after a BIG disappointment, my hair was turning brassy after a couple of washes, not working out. I didn’t return.
I then decided to give another salon a try, my friend had recommend me too.
OMG! I wanted to cry when I left that place. That hair dress RUNIED my hair completely!
So after 2 hairdressers I was a little scared, thinking to myself what a BIG mistake was parting ways with my original girl.
After doing some searching I found Kim. I was a little skeptical, a little scared because my past experience with new hairdressers, my hair being so damage, etc. So After much thinking I decided to go for it and give it one last shot.
I’m so GLAD I did. Kim had a her work cut for her with me. Keep in mind my hair was a disaster!
She worked practically from nothing bringing my hair back!!!
She took her time, didn’t rush, heard me out, she the best!

I’ve been getting my hair cut and colored by Kimberley since 2004. I’ve had my hair very short and very long and she always makes the cut and color look high quality and suiting my style. Kimberley is very professional and highly skilled. Bonus she is also very fun to talk to.

I’ve been going to get my hair cut here with Rosa and she does an amazing job. This is my new go to when I need my hair cut.

Lacquer is amazing! I needed to get a cut and highlights at the very last minute before the July 4^th holiday weekend. Rosa managed to fit me in on the holiday and did the most amazing job with my color. It blends perfectly and I’m loving the cut and color as it grows out. Lacquer is also a really fun place to get your hair done — the décor is fabulous and the music is always great. It’s wonderful to have a legit option for hair in San Leandro. I used to go to SF, but now I’m just going to go to Rosa.

I have been to so many salons and was never satisfied with my hair afterwards. It came to a point I hated my hair it was thinned out, looked like I had a mullet. I searched for a good hair salon on Unilocal and saw that Lacquer had really good reviews and it was down the street from my house. I called and spoke with Kim who’s had Rosa call me. Once I spoke with Rosa and told her my hair needed saving we scheduled an appointment. Rosa LITERALLY fixed my hair and it looks healthier and more alive thanks to her. She has made me obsessed with my hair because of a good job that she does. I have and do recommend Lacquer to everyone. Both women are phenomenal, they both create such an amazing atmosphere in the salon I love being there! I am so happy I found a salon that I have continued to go back to.

When I was asking around for recommendations for a hair and make-​up expert, Bunny’s name (aka Rosa) came up several times. Not surprising, as she was able to work her magic on me with both of us under some serious time constraints. Rosa made me photo-​ready for my important family event — and in such a way that I looked like me — only much, much better. Through laughing, crying, dancing and eating — my hair and make-​up held out much longer than my energy level did. Thank you. My family thanks you, too.

I followed Rosa aka Bunny Pistol from San Francisco to Lacquer. It was 15 min faster to drive over the beautiful bay from SF to rock star parking at her new studio compared to stop and go 45min just to go across The City. And my hair.fantastic. Really enjoyed the look and feel of this studio and the friendliness mixed with that rare thing I crave in crafts people, artists and services providers… much deserved pride in ones work.

There is only one reason for this compliment, and that reason is Lacquer Studios. I have long, thick, tresses that are cut into sexy layers and expertly colored. In particular, I get ballyaged (hand-​painted on) highlights that really make my hair stand out, and they’re so natural that even as the color fades in the sun over time, the color still looks amazing as it morphs into something new. I worked in San Leandro for years and felt so lucky when a chic salon opened in the town; I used to schlep to SF and it was always a pain. The Lacquer Studios location is a mixed-​use, industrial and residential area. It’s easy to drive there from 580 or 880 (off Marina, near the outlet stores) and there’s plenty of street parking if you drive. It’s also a short walk from San Leandro BART.

There a few times in life when you meet an amazing hairstylist. And that’s kim. This is my 3^rd time going to her and I can’t even begin to rave on her services.
She has awesome little salon in San Leandro and the only way I found her was because I was l looking for a certain product that I was using from a previous salon and she was selling them. Also it’s s real boutique vibe salon, her whole theme is that 50s-​60s decade of pinups, hair styles, makeup and she has some really cool vintage posters up.
Overall, great services. She really listens to what you are looking for, and the best way to achieve it. Thanks Kim!
