Since 1938, McDermottCosta Insurance has been serving individuals and businesses throughout California and beyond with high quality insurance solutions. As a locally owned, regional independent insurance brokerage firm, McDermottCosta operated from one office located in San Leandro CA.

Mike M.

Business Owner

Mike McDermott, Vice President and Partner of McDermottCosta insurance brokers, has over 15 years experience in the commercial lines insurance brokerage industry. He is a third generation McDermott working for the firm. Mike spearheaded the growth of the firm’s current restaurant program for QSR and fast food operators and franshisees. He is also a specialist in real estate related industries (including light industrial, habitational & commercial office).

Mike has been instrumental in developing insurance products necessary for these industries. Including negotiating enhanced terms, pricing and improving the risk profile for his clients. He has experience handling national workers’ compensation accounts and has worked closely with large complex accounts. Mike also specializes in food related industries including food processors, manufactures and distributors.

Mike currently holds a CWCA (Certified Workers’ Compensation Advisor)
