Paramount Piroshki

I heard about this place from a friend. First time I went there I thought it was closed. So I ended up leaving. Second time I came back and rang the doorbell. They answered the door right away. They were really helpful. Love the chicken/​rice piroshki and pizza one. They let me try a sample freshly made. I’m excited to try the puff pasty in chicken and spinach/​feta which are baked fresh. So delish!

Arlene was super helpful and provided great service. Piroshkis are delicious when slowly baked in the oven!

Excellent! Destiny met me on a closed day because I couldn’t make it when the shop was open, excellent customer service and YUM! Will definitely be back!

You can only buy frozen food here. I got the beef and cheese piroshkis and they were pretty hard to thaw. I’d recommend putting them in the oven while you preheat it to 350. But, if you thaw them out of the oven (which takes about an hour or so), they are much chewier.
Good deal for piroshkis though.

I didn’t realize it, but they are not a «traditional» bakery, even though they are listed under «bakeries.» I was going there to pick up some treats for my work, but ended up taking away a dozen frozen piroshkis in a box to bake for another day. Super nice staff and delicious piroshkis. I had never had one before (nor had I even heard of them), so it was my introduction, and what a treat.

What an awesome place. My friend and I went there together. By the time we had gotten there they were already closed. We decided to take our chances and we rang the doorbell, and THANK GOD we did because shortly after the owner whom is the nicest man ever opened the door, welcomed us in warmed up two pirashki’s for us we talked, are, and laughed. After he gave us a tour of the entire place. Love it there and can’t wait to be back.

Went here and got my Piroshkis the other day. I wouldn’t recommend microwaveing the things. Reheating them in a oven works best. The staff was very helpful and nice.

Been raiding them for piroshkis for almost 20 years now, since they were San Francisco. They are, simply put, da bomb.

This is my first time trying a Piroshki or even hearing of them. Let me say– this gem is WONDERFUL!!! I ordered the Beef and Cheese and also the Chicken and Rice. Len was EXTREMELY helpful, and I could hear the passion in his voice as he serviced me and explained the history of their family business. I tried the beef and cheese Piroshki and it is a flavor explosion. The outside puts you in the mind of a Beignet, and the inside is a savory, well seasoned meat and cheese combo. I will be telling my family and friends about them as you can order ahead, or pick up a frozen box. I will definitely be ordering again!

Drove from San Jose and was there about 2:10PM
Knocked on the door & rang the door bell. No answer and no sign on the door.
Tried calling only got voicemail. Kept knocking and ringing door bell no answer.
Customer beware, don’t drive here or go here unless you know the business is open.

Excellent and authentic food at a great value. I got a dozen of piroshki through groupon for 18. It is crispy on the outside with a good balance of filling inside. Len who is the owner is very nice and helpful of u have any questions. Will come back to try everything else.

It is easy to miss the factory if you don’t know the area! Luckily, I know this place very well! When you get there, you have to ring the doorbell!
I bought a Groupon for 2 dozen piroshkis. When I arrived, I was told I could pick 2 flavors (would be useful if Groupon mentioned that). I got beef and cheese and rice chicken, and cheese. These are their top 2 sellers! The owner was really nice and even offered to help me take them out toy car!
At home, we tried both! My favorite of the two is the rice, chicken, and cheese one. There’s a variety of textures and has more flavor.
The only con is that the package does not come with directions on how to heat it up. Not great for people who are first timers!
As for parking, there are only a few spots in the front.

This a wonderful family owned business and I’ve been going here for about 20 years. My daughter was turning 13 and she said «Daddy, can you get me some Piroshki’s from that place I love for my birthday?». Sooo… I bought her a case and she was ecstatic.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a local company who makes quality food. I once had them cater an event at work and I received nothing but excellent reviews from the employees.
They are personable, friendly, and provide great service. I highly recommend them.

Owners are terrific people and the products are delicious. Piroshki are traditional and tasty. Give them a call and place an order your next party.

Awesome people. Can’t wait to taste the Piroshki! They are wholesale only but willing to help anyone. Their Piroshkis can be purchased at Grocery Outlet, Baras Deli and any legit bakery in SF.

Are they still in business after the recall? Left some messages but never got a call back. Went there today and the door was locked. Unilocal shows that it’s open — what a waste of time. Please get your facts straight Unilocal

Their address is actually 735 Fremont, San Leandro and not 585 Potrero like Unilocal shows. 585 Potrero was their San Francisco address. I called them today and they said they would be closed for 2 week’s after today.

The best piroski in town. I am Polish and every Sunday after church my parents would take us to lunch at a local deli and I would order a piroski. I have always yearned for that taste and could never find any locally or that taste as I remeber. I recently moved and my local market carries your piroski’s they are exactly as I remembered! I even had the deli order me a case so I can pop one in the oven when I get the craving.

Before you fellow Piroshki lovers get all excited and make plans to drive over to Paramount’s new location in San Leandro, I must warn you that:
1) This new location is their factory and NOT a store front. If you’re expecting to just buy a couple of piroshkis, it ain’t happening. If it does, it’s out of the goodness of the owners’ hearts, haha. They’re awesome guys. Anyway, you should google a list of the stores that carry their delicious buns and go there instead.
2) If you’re lucky like me and have a big family and friends who love their piroshkis, you can buy them fresh from the factory! You’d have to buy 40 piroshkis minimum. They’re $ 2 a pop — totally reasonable — not a prob if a bunch of you order together. It’s SO worth making the big purchase every once in a while!
3) If you do decide to buy the 40 minimum, it’s CASH ONLY.
4) The building literally looks like an old office that’s no longer in business-there’s a coded lock box attached to the door. Don’t get discouraged, there’s a doorbell-​ring it!
Now on to my review. LOVE their piroshkis! If you grew up in the City and have ever bought one of their piroshkis, then you know what I’m talkin’ about! My family has eaten their piroshkis throughout the years for over 20 years now. Sadly, the building they were in FOREVER (in the Potrero) was sold. Lucky for us, their factory is 10 minutes away! Woot-​woot!
Much like their old Potrero location, it looks like an old, small office building — no blaring store signs so you’ll definitely pass it up at least once. When my sis and I parked, we didn’t know what to expect. As we opened our car doors, the smell of meat, cheese and doughy goodness filled the air and we knew we hit the jackpot.
When we rang the doorbell we were greeted by two men who were just awesome! Although we were disappointed when they explained to us that they only really sold in bulk to their distributors (40 piroshkis minimum), they were willing to make an exception for us (probably because we looked so depressed, haha) and let us buy a dozen. We ended up buying 30 to split among our families! Like I said, I’ve got a big family. :)
Anyway, we chatted with them for a while about the old factory and were really happy with our experience. Great customer service and as always their piroshkis were delicious! We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely the best piroshkis I’ve ever had. Started eating these way back in the day, picking them up at the local deli-​liqua sto’ in the Richmond and through some investigating discovered their source at their old factory on Potrero. Been stopping by every once in a while to re-​up when in the area and recently discovered they had moved. So I shot over to San Leandro to their new digs and stocked up. Beef and cheese is my favorite but they make other varieties. Cash only if you make it to their factory in the San Leandro cuts.
