As first time RV renters, traveling with 2 children we were unsure what to expect & afraid our expectations might be too high. **David & his Staff at THE MOBILE CABIN went over & Beyond to meet ALL of our expectations. We can honestly say they treated us like family by taking very good care of us, and all of our requests. The personal touches that were brought to us: Making sure that we got to & from the airport safe & promptly, furnishing the Mobile cabin just as we had talked about (even better :)), assuring anything they could to make our trip comfortable, Always being just a phone call away, as well as offering great suggestions on places to stay! My husband & I are both business owners & we are impressed with the service here. Our RV was clean and we’ll equipt. Integrity is definitely important at the mobile cabin and We apreciate that! These folks are amazing! I have just finished building a tiny house RV, and was lucky enough to stumble on David when I was looking for help moving it into place. I mentioned that I was stumped with my propane system and had some major bugs in the electrical system, and he sent his RV tech Dana to help me get it sorted. In a day I had hot water, a working propane stove, and my electrical system in line. They are friendly, reliable, and exude competence. I’m going to use them on every future RV building project and I give them the highest recommendation.

My wife and I decided to have an RV road trip for the first time. We looked for various RV rentals around San Francisco and we were fortunate to find The Mobile Cabin on Unilocal.I read all of the good comments that people made and decided to give it a shot. We rented a 2015 Mercedes Navion and had a blast! We have received several compliments during our trip ;). David was very patient with us and he was always available on the phone to answer our questions during the trip: «how should I fill the water tank, David?»
I give a five-​star to my first RV rental experience and a 10-​star to David. Would definitely come back for our summer trip!

We will be starting our RV holiday tomorrow, but thus far our experience with the Mobile Cabin has been superb! David is attentive and helpful, accomodating our needs. He’s friendly and professional and his fleet of travel options is many! I looked at a number of them personally, and they are all beautiful, clean and look brand new. The Mobile Cabin offers a military, first responders discount and is quite generous with it as well! It’s worth a call if you are thinking of renting an RV (big or small), a travel trailer or a toy hauler… And if you need something to pull that travel trailer, I think he has that for rent too. A nice, local, family based business… rent with them and put more of your dollar spent back into the local community. I’ll update as our trip begins and progresses.

We rented the Sprinter RV for a 10-​day trip to Portland and back. The RV was perfect for our family, was easy to drive and operate, and stayed warm and comfortable, despite the storm, snow and low temperatures we encountered. David provided exceptional service and responded quickly to any questions we had via text or call. We will be repeat customers! Thanks David!

What a find!!! We rented the 2015 Coleman and it was in beautiful condition and a great deal to take to Bodega Bay with us for camping. Dave was a joy to work with and very accommodating and professional. We will definitely use them again next year for our camping trip (since I don’t «do» tent camping, lol).

I found TMC on Craigslist and recently rented one of the trailers for a 7-​day glamping trip. David was very patient showing and explaining different layouts and even upgraded me to a larger, more spacious unit.
The rental process was straight forward and hassle-​free, the price fair. I was very pleased with David’s delivery service, since had never pulled a trailer before and lacked the proper towing vehicle.
My dealings with TMC exceeded my expectiations, and I definitely will rent from David again. Thank you for a pleasant all around experience!

David was accommodating and very patient with our first rental with him. He provided a 22′ 2015 Mercedes Navion that was perfect for my family to camp along the Central Coast. The RV itself is beautiful and very well designed. Two slide outs make it seem almost too big and very comfortable! The Diesel engine navigated the hills flawlessly plus saved us on fuel expense. I highly recommend The Mobile Cabin to anyone — and actually have to two families already!

This company is the greatest ! I highly recommend! We used to own our a Trailer but decided to give it up and started renting since we figured the cost is lower and we’ll always get a new RV when we rent. So we’ve been renting RVs for the last 10 years. We’ve tried all the other local companies, even individuals renting their own personal RVs in Craigslist. Mobile Cabin is the best place to rent from. They have the best rates and they’re easiest to deal with. Everything was smooth from pickup to drop off!
My kids had a week off from school, and my husband and I decided on a last minute family trip. I called around lunch, and we had a new rental RV (Mercedes Benz) in our possession an hour and a half later. The unit was brand new and I was really excited to find out that it runs on Diesel, which is only about $ 2.30 a gallon nowadays. We took the RV from the Bay Area to Grand Canyon. My husband and I both drove. It was really easy to drive the RV. It drives like a car. The RV is so new that everything works great! It was very user friendly. Even first timers will find this RV as easy. We had so much fun that we extended our rental for 2 more days.
I was required to pay cash for the rental, but I was allowed to pay the security deposit by credit card. I am not accustomed to doing business transaction in cash, so I was skeptical. But the price was so low that it was worth checking out. When we went to pick up the rental, I found out that this company has no storefront, that’s why the rate is so much lower than other companies. I met with the owner in his own home. I didn’t question this company’s legitimacy after I found out that the transaction will be conducted in the owner’s home. I figured, if things go bad, I can call the Mafia on this guy since I know where he lives (kidding!). My family was warmly welcomed by the owner’s family in their home. The whole business transaction was well documented. I received receipts for the rental, security deposit, and the contract.
David is a really nice guy, honest and very professional. We will definitely be renting from David from now on.

The gentleman at The Mobile Cabin was extremely friendly, and helpful. I was returning from Yosemite after borrowing my friends beautiful RV, and wanted to return clean, and ready for its next excursion. My wife and I and our 7 month old daughter rented for the second weekend in row from The Mobil Cabin this past weekend. Both times we dealt with David, who was extremely helpful and easy to work with. Our first trip was short notice and he provided a clean RV ready to roll same day! Our trip this past weekend we rented the Mercedes RV and went to Pine Crest Lake, this was the perfect RV for the trip. We had no issues the whole trip or with the entire experience. Thanks David for your help and being easy to deal with, we will be calling again soon.

Trailer was as advertised, and remained in good working shape throughout our rental. David was generous with the included amenities, flexible when our return time got messy, and helped us diagnose an issue with our truck on his own time. An enjoyable experience.

David and the mobile cabin team was incredibly flexible and easy to work with. When things came up he found a way to make it work and sometimes even work better than before. When the fuse on our rental truck wasn’t working, David stayed with us for 1.5 hours (even though it wasn’t an issue with his equipment) and helped troubleshoot the issue, which ultimately allowed us to go on our trip. He was also generous in lending us extra equipment for water and power to make sure we had all the amenities we needed. The equipment worked and the most fun was had!

I had a great experience using the mobile cabin. David is very knowledgable and easy to work with. He is beyond fair. He explained how to use every part of the rv and truck. He even let us practice driving the rv in the lot before we headed out. David is a great and helpful guy. I recommend him to everyone I know.

This was my first time using The Mobile Cabin, had it booked last minute for burning man. I live in los Angeles and was a little skeptical but once I arrived I was blown away. The owner David went above and beyond to help out, gave us an amazing deal on a truck and trailer for Burning Man. He even stored 2 of our cars in front of his home for a week. WOW.
I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an rv rental. All you have to do is take care of your rv and you will get all your deposit back.

RENTERS BEWARE!
My wife contacted The Mobile Cabin in mid July asking about renting a trailer. She was told to contact David for a deposit, which I did on my wife’s behalf. At the very beginning red flags were thrown and I should have abandoned the deal but I was locked in. Here is what went down.
July 15: I call David to put a $ 1,000 deposit on the trailer for the weekend of 7÷29−8÷2. I’m told verbally that we can get a refund on our deposit if we cancel before the pickup date and he would be sending the contract via email. I give him my CC over the phone to hold the camper.
July 18: I’m back from travel for work and read the contract to find that I must cancel 14 days prior or pay a $ 250 fee and $ 500 if 13 days prior to departure. I made the reservation 14 days prior, it would have been nice to know this ahead of time (first red flag). I call David to see if this is true or if I can cancel with no penalty, no dice, $ 500 penalty would be issued.
July 24: Contract is signed and sent
July 29: I arrive to pick up the camper. He quickly goes over the camper use and finds there is no battery hooked up, so he borrows one from another camper. I’m then told I was supposed to bring cash, I had a card since he took a card for the deposit. Ok, so I have to unhook the trailer, go to a bank and get cash and we’re finally on our way.
July 30: After spending 1 night in the camper we get a battery low alarm in the middle of the day. That is odd, it drained pretty fast for not using anything. So I fire up the generator for 3 hours (allowed max at Alpine Lake) to charge the battery. This does not help, alarm stays on so I disconnect the battery and drive 10 miles to get cell reception to call David. David informs me to jump the battery with a running car, then charge. I go back and do just that, this keeps the alarm off until about 9 p.m. when the alarm goes off again. Strange we’re not using any electrical devices at the time so I disconnect the battery again.
July 31: I again drive to make the phone call to David to let him know it did not work. He basically tells me I’m out of luck and doesn’t know what to do. Well when he spoke of his road side assistance he told me anything would be taken care of, only to find the contract also states this. I should not have listened to his word and payed closer attention to the contract. Ok, no problem we’ll deal with it.
Aug 1: Sunny day at lake alpine, awing out, enjoying the day. Sudden hailstorm appears and we take cover.
Aug 2: As we are packing up and cleaning after the rain and hail I see the awning has flaked off onto the ground. It appears the awning had been previously weakened by UV damage which is common and I’ve seen this before. I assume it shouldn’t be a problem and they would understand. We leave and I inform David I am running late on returning the camper and he has no problem letting me drop it off 30 minutes late, awesome, live saver! I assume he’ll be there so I can go over the awning with him in person. He is not, it is his father in law that takes the trailer and I explain the awning issue to him. He says he’ll tell David and he’ll get back to me. So far no problem.
Aug 6: I call David asking when I can expect the return of my deposit he tells me 2 weeks. Ok, no problem. No mention of the awning, I assume everything is ok since it was a natural event.
Aug 28: Still no check so I decide to call them and see what is going on. Seems they have lost my contract and made a mistake, they will get payment out ASAP. Ok, no problem it happens. Then 5 minutes later David calls me back saying I’m not getting a deposit because I destroyed the awning by hitting a tree. I explain the hail and he calls me a liar, there was no hail. I asked him to look it up, there was hail.
Aug 29: I get an invoice from the mobile cabin stating I owe them $ 290 and I lose my deposit. I again try explaining the situation with examples and videos of the hail from that day that we caught on our iPhones. My words land on deaf ears and the situation is handled by David in a very condescending and belittling tone. I have attached the entire email conversation below for those that want to see the lack of professionalism when dealing with this business.

At this point I’m not sure what to do. I would rather avoid legal action but they are completely unwilling to work with me on this. I wanted to let everyone else know what type of business they are dealing with before they fork over their hard earned money.

I wanted to try the RV experience. David was great, walking me through the basics so my trip went smoothly. I also really appreciated his flexibility when my return was late!
Renting with them is painless, they can do it all online which saves time.
