A & C Auto Service

The Chinese owner at this shop is very fcking sneaky and will always try to fool you up to roof.
I had engine light on and went to the shop since it’s a block away, that a-​hole told me it will be a $ 650 engine job which I agreed because I needed the car in hurry. After he finished the job, I took the car home, in less then 24 hours, the engine light came back on again AND the car became worse than before.
Took the car back and I challenged him what exactly he did, he then shown me this and that and I realized: 1. he used refurbished parts, 2. he’d skipped parts which he charged, 3. all that he done was just changing some random parts here and there with no reason to replace.
I’m in the process of filing complaint against A & C and will never return to this place given it’s been in the neighbor for years.

May 11,2014 was the first time I went to A&C Auto Service and would be the LAST time there…
I usually go to my regular auto shop or the dealership but this time I was impatient. My engine light was on on Saturday night and I was worried that the more I drive, the more damage it would do to my car. (I know nothing about mechanic problem). Most places close on Sunday so I thought I would try this place out since I always see a lot of cars there.
Tony, the machanic, diagnosed and let me know that I just need new spark plugs so I told him to change them. He called me and asked me to come and get my car before 1 pm because he wanted to close the shop early since he had a party he had to go which was not a problem for me… I went to pick up my car and paid almost $ 200.
In my receipt, it said need new spark plugs, COILS are O.K.
Monday… I drove my car on a freeway and it was still misfiring so I thought I would wait little more…
Tuesday. My car was still misfiring so I stopped by there hoping somebody could help me out… Nope… There were two machanics there, Sunny and another man who told me «Tony only work here on Sunday so you have to come back next Sunday to see him». What? Wait ?? I asked him why can’t he take a look for me and Sunny insisted that I have to come back next Sunday…:(
Wednesday morning, I called Mike, one of the owner and he still insisted that I have to come back on Sunday so I decided to go to another shop and it turned out that…
1. The Machanic did not tight spark plugs well.
2. He did not adjust the valves which he was supposed to do when changing spark plugs (not sure if this procedure is for every make and model but for sure it was for my car)
3. My car needed new coils!!! (Tony told me that my coils are o. k)
After the new place fixed the problems, they had to charge me for everything so they suggested to me to get my money back since A&C Auto Service did not do a good job so I went.
I talked to Mike and only asked for labor charge back.
At first Mike (one of the owner) refused to give me back my labor money so I told him that I came back so you guys can fix the problem but nobody wanted to help me even himself. I told him that if he doesn’t want to give me back the money, I would have to file a compliant through Bureau of Automotive Repair. It was not fair for me to have to pay them for nothing… after I mentioned that, he agreed to give me back my money. I even apologized him for what happened but it was just not fair for me… I’m a woman and drive alone… what would you do if it was your daughter’s car?
I don’t mind if Tony made a mistake, everybody does it BUT their policy is SUCK… and unfortunately I got a machanic who works only 1 day a week!!!
If they would have help me right away or even the next day, I wouldn’t be this upset…
Well, I learned my lesson! From now on, I will just be patient and go to my regular RELIABLE shop…

I went in for a oil change a few weeks ago. The next day, I saw a small puddle of oil in my garage as I pulled the vehicle out. I asked my friend to look at the car and the oil pan drain plugged was stripped. I brought it back to them and told them what had happened. The owner said he was not going to do anything about it and it wasn’t his problem. Luckily I canceled my trip to Vegas which could of been a horrific trip if all the motor oil leaked out. The problem is still unresolved. I would put down ⁰⁄₅ but I need to put down at least one star. I will NOT bring or recommend this guy to any of my friends and family for his dishonesty.

The service was awesome as usual, I have brought some of my good friends cars’ here too, they never fail. I recommend it to anyone in the area the constant work on the street would make you believe that they’re closed but they’re not. And trust me when they say «$ 21 for an oil change»!
You can’t go wrong.

I’ve been bringing my car to A&C for years, because it’s practically adjacent to my workplace. This makes it reeeeeally easy to drop off my car for an oil change and just walk back with no hassle.
Their price for an oil change has increased little by little over the years, but that’s no surprise, I suppose. Right now it’s $ 20 including tax and whatnot.
With regard to the bigger repairs, I feel like they’re pretty honest. I never really check around to see if they’re giving me a fair shake, but that dang convenience factor wins out every time. Can’t beat the location, so I guess I’ll be back in another 5,000 miles.
