A Heart’s Desires Bridal & Tuxedo

I went here with my sister and family. We were looking for a dress for my sister.
The place is small but they have a fairly decent selection of dresses. I thought they would be super expensive but they had decently priced dresses. The girl who helped my sister was super nice. She tried on a bunch of dresses and never felt rushed. Each person gets their own firing room with mirror and chairs for friends and family.
They also have flower girl dresses, veils and accessories.
I would recommend it.

I have purchased three dresses here. The first two experiences were great, so I wanted to buy my wedding dress here thinking third time would be just as great… unfortunately I was very disappointed with this last dress purchase and I will probably not go back. I had been promised that my dress would be ready by a certain time, and upon arrival I noticed the beading portion of my alteration had not been done. So I was told to leave and come back in an hour or so.(note this was a Thursday night of Farmers Market and they wanted me to come back just before they closed at 6pm). Annoyed, I left and came back when they called and said it was ready. I was so flustered by the situation that I didn’t analyze my dress when I picked it up (which was my fault) and when I got home, I realized that the bead work had still not been completed as promised! I didn’t want to have that «bridezilla» moment so I just convinced myself that no one would look that closely at the beads and hoped that my up-​close pics of the dress were really not too up close (and it took me more than 2 months after the wedding to decide to post about it). But the alterations got worse. Even though the dress was supposedly hemmed, I tripped over the front if my dress all night and I am pretty sure it was just a half ass alteration job. Needless to say, I would not recommend using this company for alterations. The dresses are great, but I was not pleased how my wedding dress turned out and they were expensive for alterations… its a wedding dress, it should be perfect! And unfortunately it wasn’t.

I was excited and nervous, but a good nervous. I scheduled my appointment because I saw on Instagram they were having s sale on «Black Friday,» and I was already planning to schedule appointments Thanksgiving weekend. This was perfect! I called and Ashley was super nice on the phone. She told me that I would go in and pick 6 – 8 dressed and then if I didn’t like any that I picked they would pick a few for me.
Well the day of my appointment comes, and I was running late! I got there a few minutes late, but it was ok. It’s a super cute boutique in DT SLO. They pretty much have all Bridal attire items in this shop from Suits, to jewelry to shoes, to veils to flower girl dressed and bridesmaid dresses.
I was greeted by Laurel (Sp?). I filled out an info sheet and she led us to an intimate room in the back. It was small, but my mom, sisters and grandma made it work (there were 6 total with me). So I walked around and then again and then I finally made a few choices. There were dressed that marked with certain percentages off and they also had dresses that were «buy off the rack.» All the dresses beautiful and different. I was a little overwhelmed at first, but I picked 8. The fitting room had a 3-​way mirror and a square stand to step onto. Then I narrowed it down, we went to the lobby and it was really magical. I have to add Laurel was GREAT throughout the whole shopping experience. She did not force anything and was extremely helpful. I really could not ask for a more perfect experience! Thank you so much for helping me, I will definitely tell anyone I know in the area that is looking for a dress to go here!

They were amazing and went above and beyond to accommodate. My sister was married last Saturday on Avila Beach at 4:30 PM in the afternoon. At 2:15 I looked at her dress and realized it was horribly wrinkled. I called a Heart’s Desire and they swelled us in and worked miracles to steam her dress so that she was radiant and perfectly attired as she walked towards the man of her dreams. I am eternally grateful to A Heart’s Deise.

I had SUCH an amazing experience here today! I had an idea set in my head, and Angela did everything to help me reach my goals. We had the shop basically to ourselves, and I was able to simply walk the aisles and pick out what I liked to try on! I found my dress today, and I will suggest this place to my friends in the future!

I am so happy I came to this store to buy my wedding dress. My wedding dress is fabulous. The staff is amazing. I was able to pick out a wedding dress no problem with the help of one of their lovely girls.
I was also able to pick out the bridesmaids and tuxedos. This made my life a lot easier. Everything done in one store. I love shopping local.

I hate writing bad reviews, but I just had such an awful experience here. I have come in a couple of times. Both times I have gone in by myself and was completely ignored by the woman in the front with short black hair. I am newly engaged and was hoping to look at dresses and make an appointment for later that day to bring my mother and a few of my friends. Being completely ignored, I decided maybe I would just come back a different day. The day I came back I was assisted by a really sweet girl upstairs in the bridesmaid room. I was seeing if there were any simple dresses that would work as a wedding dress. In the middle of my conversation with this young woman, the lady from the previous day interjected and forced her to go do something else. This left me with no one to help me. At this point I was just fed up and decided to leave. I am super bummed because I really love giving my money to local businesses, but I have since gone to a different place. The owner really needs to step up her customer service.

My experience purchasing my wedding dress was more than I could have dreamed about. Ashely was more than helpful and professional. She helped me find my wedding dress on my first visit. Although my mom lives out of state, Ashley made sure she was part of the entire process using FaceTime to show her details of the dresses.
Maria was amazing throughout the alteration process. She took in about 4 sizes on my dress and made me feel beautiful at every fitting. Thank you to all of the staff that kept smiles on their faces and made me feel like their best client!

The employees went out there way to meet every need. We found the wedding dress we wanted and at two different locations, but we chose A Heart’s Desires Bridal because of their wonderful costumer service. I was beyond impressed. They also have a great dress selection and willing to do whatever it takes to find that right dress for you.

I didn’t buy my wedding dress here, but after relocating to the area I did use them for alterations. I was really nervous because my dress is fairly detailed and I wasn’t sure about hemming the bottom but all of my appointments have been really pleasant. The first appointment I came and they had me try on the dress and offered to let me try on some jewelry while I waited for the seamstress. When the seamstress came down she was very friendly and efficient while pinning what needed to be taken in.
The second appointment I had, I just tried on my gown in the seamstress’ room. She’s done an awesome job so far and everything has been very timely. The seamstress is very pleasant to work with, and definitely makes sure I’m happy before I take off my dress with all the pins on what needs to be taken in.
I have my final appointment in a couple weeks, and the staff has been very good about booking my appointments in a timely manner for my September wedding. While I’m not sure what it would be like to gown shop here, I can definitely recommend them for alterations.

These guys did a GREAT job. Everything was perfect. I couldn’t be more pleased. The customer service was excellent. The staff was friendly, and helpful. Everything was on time, and what was promised. I don’t give 5 stars very often unless they go above and beyond with everything, and this place did that! I would definitely use them again!

I made an appointment and came in with my mother, grandmother, and aunt. The two ladies there were very accommodating to the four of us and so incredibly helpful! I almost got my dress here, but in the end there was another one at a different store that caught my heart. However I will go back here for my accessories!

Great customer service over the phone. I had several questions that were probably annoying but responded professionally and with patience. They did answer all my questions I had so will definitely be going to their store. I’m really picky on customer service and I give them 5 stars. Awesome staff!

This was really the best possible bridal dress shopping experience I could ever imagine. The staff is so down to earth and very honest. They do not try to hard sell and they are extra patient and helpful. Even though our appointment was supposed to be for one person and four showed up, they just rolled with it. My daughter tried on easily 10 – 12 dresses and twirled like a ballerina when she found the one she loved best (she could not help it, she felt like a fairy princess in those dresses!).
Everything from the selection, to the expertise of the staff to the warm and inviting environment is just top notch here and yet the prices are very reasonable considering it’s the most important dress of your life!!!
I would not hesitate to recommend this shop. The dress we found that my daughter loved best was less than $ 700.00. All I can say is… WOW!
Keep in mind that these are local people and you are supporting local families. I love that much better than giving my money to a Big Box Bridal Chain like D.B.

this place is terrible! ashley the girl that works there is the worst! so disrespectful self centered she was talking on her phone to her friend about what they are wearing for the weekend we had to help ourselves. she got snooty to myself and my bridesmaid and made her cry very rude! she didnt tell us some things and then denied it all saying she did! the list goes on with this place! i would never recommend this place poor customer service!

This is the first bridal gown store I went into and ashley helped me find my dress ! She was very sweet and was honest and knew exactly what looked good on my body type. She was an angel ! I did make an appointment and I do recommend one so that all there attention is focused on you and you are able to take your time. I did not feel rushed at all and ashley let me try on as many dressed as I wanted she also recommended things. I was able to find the perfect dress for me in two hours and at my first time trying any dresses on. There prices are great nothing over 2,500. When I walked in I expected to spend at least 3,000. I got my dress and vail for 1,500. The staff here made me feel like a princess and made me feel very important. This place is a must see and if don’t know why the other comments are bad my experience is great. I say make an appointment and give this place a try. They really do care about you and want you to look beautiful on your day. Thank you for the great service ashley !

I went here to try on dresses since they are the only shop in Slo. I made an appointment and came in with my mom. I was interested in staying on a budget so I was looking at the sale dresses. I told the girl helping me my price range. After not really finding anything in the sale rack my mom told me maybe I could go above my budget and try on all price dresses to just see what I liked and then decide what I should spend.
We then began looking at other dresses in the store. I tried a few, but still wanted to see others. My mom asked the girl if she could pull some dresses for me. To which she replied «I don’t really see anything for your daughter» Rude. (The girl helping us was the shop owners daughter. Pretty bad attitude.) I had found 2 ok dresses one on sale and one not. The one not on sale was filthy and so shop worn in belonged in the trash. The other was pretty but totally wrong for my garden wedding.
My mom thought maybe I liked what I had found and said I could buy a dress that day if I wanted. After hearing this the girl helping us ended up trying to pressure me into a sale. Saying it took 9 months to order the dresses. (I order from a different shop. It took only 3 months).
Aside from all this all the sample dresses in this store are tiny. I wear size 6 pants and could not get any of them zipped up. Makes
it kind if hard to see what they look like.
Long story short I ended up buying a dress at Bella Novia Bridal in Paso. The dresses are clean and beautiful. The prices are fair and the staff is friendly. Skip the Slo shop and head up to Paso.

I purchased my wedding dress here which was beautiful. It came in on time which I was grateful for. Ashley was so very helpful and knowledgeable. The other lady seemed a little on edge and much less organized which is alarming for a bride. It was always difficult and timely for her to pull out file-​sometimes telling me that there wasn’t one for me until she could locate it.
I didn’t care for the bridesmaids selection and chose another option. We waited for the new men’s Havana suit to come in for the guys, but it didn’t look very quality. My husband was uncomfortable in it, so we chose another option for that as well.
Their seamstress was leaving and there wasn’t a replacement lined up just before my dress came in, so I took it elsewhere for alterations.

Went back last weekend for my first fitting/​alteration. I had to drive down to SLO from San Jose but I made a weekend out of it.
Appointment started on time and Maria was great. I asked her for her professional opinion a couple of times and she told me. The dress needs a little off the bottom and about a foot off the train. I’m having cups sewn in and I bought a sash there. In total for the alterations plus the cost of the cups and sash was about $ 440. A lot more than I was expecting to be honest which is what the 4 stars are for. It’s $ 250 for the alterations and the sewing in of the cups. Oh well!
I’ll be back again on the 30^th for my final fitting. Appointment is at 10, she is going to mark where to put the bustle, and then sew it up while I’m killing time in the town for 2 hours. So awesome that I will not have to make a third trip down there!

I actually had a good experience here.
I booked an appointment (recommended so they know when you are coming in) and they actually stayed late after closing to accommodate me in trying on dresses.
Be sure to wear the bra you would like under your clothes… as the fitting room situation is a little different (open doorway with curtain inside)
The dresses were not in any order on the rack, so it was hard to tell in what shape/​style they were.
Very unique gowns that were just gorgeous.
The owner and daughter were not pushy at all to purchase which I really appreciate.
I found a gown that I really liked and they gave me heads up that it would be about 6 months out for an order.
