Amazing guys here. Helped us out with what could have been a major repair. Left in about 30 min and didn’t rip us off. In fact, they understood since we had a toddler with us. Trustworthy and good. 3 things that are usually hard to find in a garage. Thanks guys!

We have taken several of our vehicles here and always had great service. They know what they are doing and are very honest. Their prices are also very reasonable. When I bring my car here I feel confident that it will be repaired properly. The owner, Anthony, cares a lot about the service they provide.

My FIRST visit to Auto Experts. Got a smog check. The intake guy, Kevin, slammed the hatch back of my Subaru on my head by accident, leaving me with a hugh bump on my head and a splitting headache! I asked him if he could make good by kicking me down a discount. He said he had to ask his boss. He disappeared into an office then came back and said his hands were tied and there was nothing he could do. I left then called and asked Kevin to talk to his boss. He put me on hold for about three minutes then I was disconnected. I called back and «the boss» answered. I asked him what Kevin told him. He said Kevin told him that I «walked into the tailgate.» I said I figured it was something like that. The boss said he’d ask Kevin about it but that was it. No apology, no gestures to make it right. I won’t go back. Disappointing to say the least.

Anthony is the best. I came in for a second opinion after another shop looked at my Jeep and was very surprised. This is the only shop I know of where you actually know that the owner personally looked at your car. Both shops agreed on the issue and it was an easy fix. Smooth sailing!

Great mechanics with reasonable rates. The shop is a bit tucked back off the street making it a bit hard to find though. These guys have done a ton of work on my car and truck and I have always been happy with the amount of explanation given and how quickly they work. This is where I take my vehicles and I trust them.

Anthony has worked on my Volvo, my Beetle, and my PT Cruiser. He always does a great job and the shop is really good about explaining costs and what needs to be done. Fair prices and reasonable time frames for getting the work done. So happy to have a trustworthy mechanic.

Being new to town, I had no clue who to take my car to when it overheated. I asked around quite a bit and I was referred to Auto Experts by a few different people. I called and Alex answered and was able to get an appointment schedule that worked great for my hectic schedule. I dropped the car off at 9 am on a Friday and he called 2 hours later letting me know what was going on. He informed me that they wouldn’t be able to get the part they needed until Monday. I replied, no problem and was grateful for the timely diagnostics. I got another call around 4:30 and Alex informed me that my car was fixed! They were able to get the part early AND fix it 3 days sooner. These guys have a very fair price. I was super grateful and I will absolutely go back.

Taco is a great mechanic! Very honest and straight forward, good prices. Shop staff was very friendly and they got my car to pass smog! Great shop with great people. I will be going to them in the future for any other automobile needs. I strongly recommend them!

After visiting Big Brand, Toyota and The Tire Store to get my 4Runner’s problem diagnosed, all of them got it wrong and only Auto Experts was able to correctly diagnose the problem, save me money, re-​use a couple parts instead of charge me for new ones and get me out of there quickly — all on New Year’s Eve.
Big kudos for Alex. Nice guy, no hidden costs, good communication and a nice staff of mechanics.
You should take your vehicle to Auto Experts BEFORE taking it anywhere else.

I moved to SLO as a student and went through 4 other mechanics for different work done on my car. I switched around because every other mechanic I went to left me feeling like I had been screwed somehow.
The guys at auto experts, however, finally let me settle somewhere. After I had my first service done there (over $ 600), it was VERY clearly explained where each penny had gone to. They gave me a full detailed list on the work they did, each part they replaced, why they replaced it, what could have caused it to need to be replaced, and what I needed to do to make sure it didn’t happen again. I actually learn a lot from them each time I go there, which is why this place truly deserves 5 stars. I’m not sure if their prices are any different than other mechanics, but for the peace of mind alone it would be worth the extra money, that is if it even is more expensive (the prices seem reasonable to me). I’ve been there 5 times now since my first time, for 3 different vehicles.

These guys are great. Anthony is someone I trust. I feel like he gets the job done, there’s never any hidden costs, and my car is in and out of there fast. I take my car there for repairs, smog, oil change and I’ve always left happy.

These guys are great. I have 3 older cars (1965, 1990, 2001), and I can always count on Auto Experts to fix whatever it is that needs fixing! They are quick, efficient and very accommodating. You will be thrilled with your decision to use a local mechanic!

Great place for a smog check. Would have been in and out had my truck passed. The staff there easily diagnosed my problem and were able to do the repairs in a timely manor and affordable cost. I highly recommend this place.
