Started in 1979 while going to Cuesta College and taking the body shop class there. Had the shop while attending Cal Poly and used it as my Senior Project along with several other reports and appraisals.

I set out to get two estimates for damage done to my bumper that insurance was going to pay for. While I was at it, I got an estimate for damage that I was going to have to pay out of pocket. After talking to Gary at San Luis Customs, I was pretty sure I would be going with him. When I received his estimate, the deal was sealed. Not only were his prices way more reasonable, I did not just feel like a number. He took the time to chat and make me feel like I mattered. He also did an excellent job on my car. It looks brand new! I highly recommend San Luis Customs!

Very happy I found this place! I had a few odd end things I wanted on my car that other shops in the area would not do such as install a carbon fiber hood and put in angel eye headlights. And I must add very professionally done! Everything they have done so far looks amazing! If you’re looking for a good professional custom look for your car these guys are the best hands down. Very friendly customer service as well. Definitely going back for any future details for my Tiburon.

I can say nothing but great things about Gary and his crew at San Luis Customs. I had a complicated and difficult situation to deal with, and they were great at every step of the way. They provided excellent advice and know-​how, made sure I knew enough to make good choices, went WAY beyond what was required to make sure my overall experience of fixing my car was quick, thorough, and – happily – economical. They saved me a ton of money by asking the right questions and offering me good choices. Plus they did excellent work – on time, as promised, within budget. These guy are top-​flight professionals, they’re the shop I’ll go to for all future work.

I have never had to use an auto body shop for car repair, but if I ever do I would not hesitate to use San Luis Customs. I will tell you why. My friend got in a little accident with her car and took it to San Luis Customs. The damages on the car almost made this car a total. They went out of their way to get her car back on the road and in a very timely manner. Her car was as good as new! This is not a fancy place, they have been in business a long time and the guys really do great professional work and they are a friendly staff. Highly recommended!
