History

Established in 1984.

KRC Rock (origionally KOR-​ROCK Corp) specialized in selling and installing landscape boulders in the early years of the business. Over time, and often at the request of our clients, the product line has grown to include many other types of stone and related products that can be used in landscaping, on buildings and indoors. The business was started in San Marcos, CA and that is where the firm has maintained it’s headquarters. Additional stores include Poway and Lakeside CA., and our virtual store www​.KRCRock​.com.

KRC Rock is fantastic to work with! We had a last minute need for boulder installation at the River Path Del Mar Project, due to open to the public on May 21, 2016. KRC Rock made the installation happen, no problems whatsoever. Thank you Ed, specialist and Keno, master installer for being so accommodating and professional!

I was at the site and received a quote for the delivery charge; however, when I called to order the product the amount over the phone was significantly higher than the amount quoted at the site. They claimed the amount quoted onsite was based on cubic yard and they charge per cubic yard. My earlier understanding (i.e., at the site) was that the fee was based on delivering up to three cubic yards of gravel. Needless to say, I was very disappointed.
Fortunately I found another local company (very reputable) and they delivered my gravel at a much lower rate than KRC. I live in Carlsbad.

I write this review as a do-​it-​yourselfer homeowner and I thought this place was great. Everyone in the office was helpful ad probably saw me as a do-​it – yourselfer and still put up with my questions… all of them, lol.
The products are the best in town and I did my best to shop for better product and better prices and came up empty handed. The only thing I would have changed, is for them to deliver my entire order from the beginning. I tried saving a few bucks by borrowing/​renting a truck and trailer. This has nothing to do with them, but for anyone considering saving money in this area — DONT DO IT.
I plan on finishing the rest of my backyard later in the year and I will probably only buy future products from them.

I really like their product offerings. Their help is … well, meh. Kind of hard to reach via phone, but when you do they are helpful. Still, at times, like today, access to service it is best obtained by showing up and finding someone who isn’t tied down with a customer, isn’t chatting with a coworker, or on break.

Used there service for years and have been very satisfied for the stress they have taken off my shoulders for clients needs. Also as about there delivery services, makes rock scaping a breeze.

I have worked with this company on and off for 12 years. I was always pleased with the quality of their work. So you can imagine my suprise upon coming home to find that one tone of the wrong stones had been placed in my gardon.
But Pat Preston was able to fix the error to my satisfaction. He was a dream to work with on this.

I work in the construction business. This location has huge selection and sales people who know the best uses of their products. Big thanks to Patrick who listens to my concepts. «I’d like the interior and exterior to form one image as you look through the windows» and «I’d like a stone on top of the barbecue that doesn’t stain and coordinates with but doesn’t match the stacked stone» then shows me EXACTLY what I was describing. I consistently find the product I’m looking for within 20 – 30 minutes. Now that’s customer service!
I’ve used this company on three projects now and I ask for Pat every time. He knows his products, exactly where they’re best used, and their availability. I get next day quotes and delivery right on time. Saves time and money.

Once worked in advertising and used to call KRC Rock here in San Marcos and Poway to see if they would be interested in helping out the local high school yearbooks with a paid advertisement? Now a lot of businesses will just blow you off but not these guys.
The crew here at KRC was always willing to pitch in for a sponsorship for Poway High School and San Marcos High. It did not matter if it was football or baseball, KRC was great and generous. I drove by the other day while in San Marcos and checked them out. Now that rocks in the (drought-​stricken) landscape is big business – as a way to reduce water usage and get rid of H20-​guzzling grassy lawns – I would be happy to recommend the rock pros at KRC. In my mature wisdom, I have found that people that are nice to & supportive of kids in school, usually are nice people to deal with, business-​wise, as well. 5 Unilocal STARS for KRC Rock.

Had a great day choosing rocks for my landscaping project! I had no idea where to begin but a young guy by the name of Chris could not have been more helpful and made it a whole lot of fun too. He turned over heavy stones helping me to find the very best ones I envisioned for the front of my house. I had a specific landscaping idea in mind and he helped me find just what I needed. After that he instructed me on different options in regard to delivery, etc. I thought I would feel uncomfortable walking In there alone but I was quickly made to fee very comfortable and at ease. Unbeatable customer service from Chris!

As a mother of 2 who has a husband thats gone for work a lot I am responsible for a lot of the running around including picking up supplies for some current remodeling. I went to KRC for some fire place stone and Steve was so helpful and accommodating, went out of his way to help us. I had purchased some stone from a local Lowes and KRC carried the same thing in a larger size for less $$, Steve saved me $ 250! I look forward to doing business with them again!

My father was in search for some landscaping needs and I had mentioned this place to him after coming here years ago. I shadowed my dad when he was in his search for supplies. It didn’t take long for him to find exactly what he needed.
He asked some questions in regards to laying granite sand and sealing it. On our second visit to pick the supplies up, we were assisted by the guys outside, loading up the vehicle with the bags of sand.
I will surely keep this place in mind when we are ready to do some landscaping changes.

Reading some of these comments about how great this place is I’m surprised. Customer service sucked, I stood there for 23 (yes I kept count) minutes without being helped while 5 employees did whatever it was they were doing. 2 looked like they weren’t doing a dam thing. Guess you have to walk around and figure out how much everything was on your own. I didn’t bother and left. Thanks for the great service.

Great place, great guys. They are always helpful, nice & they have tons of great gravel, rocks & slate. Over the years we have put in slate for walkways, rocks for our koi pond and gravel for the walkways in my rise garden.

I needed 4 yards of DG mid-​day, he answered, beat a competitors price, carefully reviewed product choices with me to be sure I got right color /​mixture, checked the yard to be sure they had material available, and delivered, all in less than 1 hour.
He has my rock business!
