San Diego Kitchen Pros

I had my cabinets refaced and no need for a long drawn out review, but they did a great job for me. I am very thankful for everyone involved in my project

I called this company based on an ad I saw that mentioned $ 500 off which was not honored but this did not sway me from using them since their price came in one of the lowest based on 6 other estimates. The owner is very nice although has a strong personality that could possibly rub you wrong. He came to my home to discuss and rough measure an area I have where I wanted to build a built in bar space. He also offered free granite and install with my purchase. He kept to my timeline I requested. So far so good!
Next the architect came to do the «real drawings» of which the cabinets would be made to these specifications. A few days later I was to sign off and fax back so they could begin to build. After doing so, I realized that the top of the cabinets were not connected as I had discussed with the owner when creating the design together. Apparently, there wasn’t communication between the owner and the architect. Beware of this when planning. Don’t assume that the ideas you agree on with the owner will be used by the architect. The drawings were confusing as they were drawn in parts and didn’t show what the end product would look like. Therefore it was difficult to visualize.
Final: Install day: The cabinets were made and stained at their factory. The delivery truck was an hour late. When it arrived, it parked up the street and sat there another 15 minutes waiting for the installer to arrive. Then they came to my home, unloaded and left the one installer. When I questioned the width of my backsplash (I said it didn’t look right and it was too wide) he tried to put it back on me saying I signed off on it. He also said not to worry and that when the granite comes (the next day) it will come together and look great. Yes the backsplash (wood) was installed before the granite (not typical).
Next day granite arrived and guess what, backsplash comes out past the countertop and looks ridiculous. Since the cabinets and everything is connected to the backsplash we were advised to leave it all or we’d risk damaging all the parts and may not install again as well. So upsetting. Architect (Ron) tried to put it on me saying that is what I signed off on… then I revisited the drawing I signed off on and the measurement I signed off on DID NOT match the measurement of the backsplash. Like I said to the installer, it’s too wide! The owner agreed to deduct a few hundred dollars. Also there is a seam that runs horizontal across the backsplash. It should have been solid. Other than the backsplash… the cabinets and granite came out beautiful and it definitely increased the value of our home. I love the drawers they use (no slam) slow closing.
I would refer this company but look at the drawings VERY carefully. Measure pieces prior to install when they arrive. The installer just installs and doesn’t check to be sure pieces match drawing measurements. If you are installing granite, be sure it goes down first before backsplash.
If measurements were good, I’d give them 4 stars. They should have known to put granite down first since they do so many kitchens. I’ll post photos later.

Fabulous! We are obsessed with our new kitchen. We discovered San Diego Kitchen Pros by walking by our neighbors house he was working on. We loved the job that was done and after talking to Mark, knew he was the one for the job. He said the kitchen would be done in 5 weeks and we didn’t actually think it would be but it was!
Our kitchen was completely gutted. We opened up walls, installed all new custom cabinets, flooring, granite counter tops, backsplash, ceiling and lighting and refaced our existing bathroom.
Everything was pretty much on budget. We kept making changes as construction went on and they were very accommodating to all our requests. I kept asking, «What would you do if this were your kitchen?» And mark always gave great suggestions.
Everyone that came in here to work was kind, professional and trustworthy. Going through a remodel can also be overwhelming and stressful but Mark walks you through it and has great taste so you can trust what he says.
I 100% recommend San Diego Kitchen Pros and will use them again for our next project.

After several failed attempts to find anyone who would tackle a sink removal/​replacement we heard about Mark Oliver and Kitchen Pros. While they were unable to guarantee that our granite would still be usable Mark had a strong hunch that his crew would leave our granite in tact. His ideas about refacing our cabinets and making a few but valuable suggestions for improvements were spot on. The work was projected to take two weeks and began on September 15^th. We were back in our beautiful new kitchen on September 22! Wes and Eric the installers could not have been more professional and fun to work with. It was clear that they wanted to please us in any and every way. Joel and his finishing crew were top notch as well. We could not have chosen a better company to renew our kitchen, if only all service providers were this good… remodeling would be a breeze. As real estate professionals we come across poorly executed, botched jobs frequently and now are thrilled to be able to recommend Kitchen Pros to our clients. Almost forgot, the price was right too!

I discovered San Diego Kitchen Pros through a friend in Carlsbad who had remodeled her kitchen. I had been shopping around for kitchen cabinets for a while in Encinitas and San Marcos and was pretty disappointed with the quality and pricing I was discovering. I had a budget to stay under but wasn’t willing to sacrifice on quality materials that would last.
I had been to Home Depot in La Jolla and Lowes by Ikea in Mission Valley and several other kitchen remodeling places in Mira Mesa and up and down Miramar Rd before I found San Diego Kitchen Pros. Their pricing was lower then what I was seeing at the other stores but the quality was higher. I think since they make all their own cabinets and counter tops you get more of a factory direct kind of feel. If you are interested in refacing your existing cabinets, they do that as well.
Remodeling your kitchen is a huge deal and these guys took the stress out of the equation. I never felt rushed or pressured and I felt like I was given every option.
I felt there was good communication every step of the way and they really tried to understand what I wanted. One of my drawers has always gotten in the way of the dishwasher. This was apparent to the designer right away. Just by moving the drawer a few inches, problem was solved! They seemed to be treating the kitchen like it was going to be their own. which is the type of service I was looking for. This was my experience from start to finish.
I have recommended San Diego Kitchen Pros to several friends and plan to use them again for a master bathroom remodel. Now I feel like I have the kitchen I’ve always wanted and it will last lifetime. Coming home to a great kitchen makes me feel like me whole house has been transformed.
