San Marcos Glass

We purchased a protective glass top for our wood table and are very happy. Their pricing was $ 30 less than another company and all the employees that helped us were genuinely kind and responsive with a quick turn around. Highly recommend.

I want to personally thank the owner of San Marcos glass for «paying it forward» and demonstrating a genuinely generous spirit. I had visited every glass store in San Diego County to replace a table top specialty glass that had broken and was about to give up. It was an odd color glass that nobody carries.
I went into San Marcos glass and explained my dilemma to the funny and kind front desk lady… within a few minutes out comes the owner with a giant smile on his face. He proceeded to tell me «I think I can help! What are the table dimensions?» A few minutes later he brought me a carefully wrapped package and said «This should work!» He said «No charge, Merry Christmas!»…Wow!
No reason-​just pure kindness! I was sooooo impressed with the «perfect table top» and the «perfect holiday gesture!» I payed it forward with tips and kindness during this stressful time of year! Way to go! Thank you!!!

We had a shower door installed. Cost was roughly $ 600. The installation was fast, easy, and they did a great job. It took a few weeks for them to come out, but it was worth the wait. If I need anymore glass work done… I’m calling these guys. Super friendly and professional. Will use again!

We had a mis-​understanding and worked it out. Product wasn’t inferior, I thought I was given tempered glass and it wasn’t.

San Marcos Glass is a credit to the industry. Their product quality, prompt service, and customer care are outstanding. We recently ordered a large mirror to be installed over a second floor bathroom vanity. It required three holes to be cut for two sconces and an extended arm makeup mirror. Jose took the measurements with speed and accuracy. Rob, Brody, and Jason were friendly and careful in finessing the mirror into position. Unfortunately, the electrician was unable to install the makeup mirror without leaving a small portion of the hole exposed. We were disappointed and called Alfie. He was professional and accommodating. He wasted no time in dispatching two installers. They spent considerable time in repositioning the makeup mirror which resulted in a perfect fit. Thank you, San Marcos Glass!

A few months ago, new to this area, my cat decided to shred a screen just for fun. I googled San Marcos and Glass and came up with these fabulous folks! They will take in the situation, give you great input, and your work will always be ready just as soon as they can finish it. (That was SO awesome the first time I went there because I was moving out of a rental and time was of the essence to be able to replace a screen. AND they have pet-​resistant screen, which has made me a very happy camper.) Their prices are so fair. So far I’ve met Patty, Tina, and Alfie (who got on the phone and «guided me in» when I was lost trying to find them 10 minutes before closing time). It’s amazing to me how many things break that they can fix and I’m so glad to support them. As a fellow Unilocal reviewer said, we need to support local businesses that do a great job or they will be a thing of the past.

What an incredible local company. Highly recommend San Marcos Glass to anyone in all of San Diego. Treated us great and paid special attention to my young son. Will return with any and every glass need we have.
They were incredibly fast, friendly and precise which is so much better than the big box stores.

Asked for a deposit. Gave it to them. I canceled two days later. That is when they told me my deposit was non-​refundable. I was not told this at the time of the deposit. They kept my money. No where on their website, I did not sign anything, and they did not tell me until after I wanted my deposit back that it was non-​refundable. This is not fair and I feel cheated.

It’s nice to know in a world of big box stores, there still exists old school, small town feeling business like San Marcos Glass. They have been around as long as I can remember and ALWAYS provide the best service and products. We need to support this kind of business, they are becoming a thing of the past.

Based on other Unilocaler’s reviews, I chose San Marcos Glass to make ¼ inch, glass tops with rounded edges, for my new chest of drawers and 2 night stands. My order was ready the day after I placed it. It was exactly what I wanted. It protects my furniture and adds to the look of the furniture. Patty, the office manager, and Tina were very helpful and professional. I was pleased they had one of the employees carry the glass out to my van. I would definitely recommend this shop for any one who needs this service. I gave cards to my furniture builder to give to his customers as it would be highly recommended to protect brand new furniture with glass tops.

Tina is the best! She accommodated my 4 schedule changes due to my contractor issues. They were the best price around and were in and out. I will definitely use them for my next projects!

I needed glass tops made for several pieces of furniture that I had just repurposed. They were helpful and courteous. They also completed the work days before they quoted (talk about under promising and OVER DELIVERING!) They even stayed open after hours to wait for me to pick up the glass, at which point the owner carried and loaded it into my car, gave me complimentary glass cleaner and glass grippers for the furniture to keep the glass from moving, AND opened my car door for me to leave. All I know is I will ALWAYS order my glass from them in the future and want everyone to know how outstanding they are!

Needed emergency replacement of glass shelves for a china hutch the day before a holiday dinner. Called and spoke with Alfie who said it would take a day and I could pick it up Christmas Eve. Actually called me that afternoon and had it before they closed same day! When I picked it up, I was given double sided sticky tape to prevent the shelves from sliding around at no charge.
I highly recommend San Marcos Glass, they saved my holiday season!

Shopped around — they not only have the best prices but even better service.
Spoke initially with Alfie on the phone describe my need for a cut-​glass top for my daughters vanity — standard glass, ¼ inch, 2 radius an 2 standard corners with a polished edge. Brought the Vanity in Tue for exact measurements Alfie unloaded and reloaded the furniture and said that he would have it by Friday asking for 50% deposit. I also met Patty who showed me a similar cover on her desk. To my pleasant surprise I get a call from Alfie the glass is ready the next day. When I picked it up, it was protected in paper and Patty supplied 6 rubber buttons to prevent the glass from sliding on the vanity at no charge.
I will definitely use them again for any of my glass needs, especial custom work.

Had a great experience at San Marcos Glass. The staff was awesome, took care of fixing the broken window I brought in for repair. They were fast and courteous with great workmanship. They were even kind of enough to help me when I locked my keys in my car!

I’ve used this place to change out 3 broken windows. They’re are fast, inexpensive, and customer service is top notch. Patty also told me step by step how to remove the glass from the frame, over the (saved me money). With 3 kids at home, I’m sure ill be back. Thank you Alan for the quick service.

Great price and service!!!

My glass shower door spontaneously broke, and I didn’t know what to do. After cleaning up the glass, I ended up moving the door outside, putting up a shower curtain, and trying to find replacements at Home Depot and Lowes. No luck, nothing fit.
After a few months of ignoring the issue, I called around, and found these guys. Small shop, family owned and operated. The owner is really funny, and kept making very dry jokes about it being his 2^nd day on the job. He obviously knew his stuff, and had me in and out in 10 minutes.
So why 5 stars? Not only was the door ready in 2 days as they promised, it was $ 50 LESS than they quoted me over the phone. I had already agreed to pay more, and they charged me less. I was totally impressed.
The door looks great, the pattern on the glass matches exactly, and they were a pleasure to do business with. I will go nowhere else for window/​glass repair.
(In reading the other comments, I was really surprised by Bob’s comment. Sounds like he needed it fast, and they didn’t have his glass in stock… so referred him elsewhere. They didn’t have my glass in stock either — it’s a small shop. No big deal, not sure why that would piss him off…)

I called to get an estimate on glass for my shower door and got a quote but asked if it could be done sooner and he explained that they would have to order the glass and it would take a few days but
to call bobs glass. So I did and they gave me a quote for $ 25 less but they were in Mira Mesa. I thought I would call san Marcos glass and asked if would do $ 224 since that was what they offered and I was literally a minute down the street. he said no in haste and rudely tells me to go to bobs glass since he has 2 other customers. as if I weren’t a customer myself. I don’t mind that he wouldn’t given me the lower price but he was RUDE. To me customer service is everything and there was non whatsoever! First impressions make a lasting impression and I will let all my friends know not to go to San Marcos glass!!!
