St. Mark Executive Course

The course just gets better and better, maintenance is excellent, greens, fairways, traps are 99% even in the dead of winter. A challenging 18 hole Executive Course, I always play within three hours important to me with my schedule and priced right.
The staff is top notch and always accommodating and the restaurant has a good beer and food selection.

A a fun executive golf course. Very friendly staff. Most people keep a good pace but can get slow at times. Most of the time players let you play through if they’re playing slow.

Just played this course two days ago and it is in very good shape. Took us 2:55 to play all 18 holes but on past occasions it has taken longer. New club house (restaurant/​ale house) is great to get a beer after playing.

This course looks great since the remodel and the price is great. The only thing that I saw that was out of sorts was the first tee box. The women’s monument said 100 yards and the men’s said 107 but when you walk them off there was more then 7 yards in between. It made me question of my clubs selections. Not sure it those monuments are dead on.

There new club house is amazing!!! Went on a Thursday, they have 25 «can» beers, they are getting draft soon. The food was incredible, probably the best there is in San Marcos and staff was friendly and nice. Cant wait for happy hour. They also have a golf stimulater which is fun after a couple cold ones. We had the best pesto flatbread and nachos, amazing!

This was the worst golf experience ever. First I was not told that the greens were being aerated at the time when I checked in for my round which made for horrible putting as we all know had I been told that we would not have played. Second we were playing with a group of 5 after the first hole someone named MJ came up to us and said we would need to let people play through. We looked at him confused since the course was running a good 20 minutes behind and we were literally were playing up on the people in front of us the entire game. He said the manager told him and we asked to speak to the manager. No one came out then 2 more times during the first 9 holes MJ came out harassing us telling us that we needed to let people play through again we let him know we are playing up and not slowing down the rate of play at all. I even asked the gentleman behind us if he would like to play up and he laughed and said what good would that do!!! Exactly and I couldn’t agree more. At the 10^th hole I was fed up and I left so that it would only be 4. I tried to talk to the manager to get my money back, but he had «left» for the day. DO NOT GO HERE worst golf experience I have ever had!!!

I love this course and is somewhat challenging for an executive course. Its very easy to walk and is in a very quiet neighborhood. The upgrades to the first hole and the clubhouse are shaping up to something pretty awesome. What I can’t stand is the pace of play and the utter lack of effort from the management. Ive gone there 3 times this past month and each time the pace of play was about 15 – 20 minutes a hole. The last time we went there was a group of 6, yes 6! Well I went back today thinking that its a Weds so there is no way its backed up. Called and got my tee time and off we went. First through three were no issue. 4^th we waited about 10 mins, then the dreaded 5^th hole came. We sat there for 10 mins, watched the group tee off in front of us and then we waited. One of the guys came back to tee off again? He said he was in the mens club tourney and his ball was out of bounds. We gave up after waiting 15 or so mins because we knew this would very well be a 5 hour round and there was no way I was doing that. It would of been nice if the management told us there plopped us off in the middle of the tourney because i would of never went in the first place. We went to the club house, got a refund and Ill never go back. Hopefully the management figures out how to fix the pace of play here because its a nice course, just shitty management.

Played a round there this afternoon after getting a nice deal from underpar. It’s a par 3 course with four par 4 holes. The club house is under construction so there is a bit of a mess at that spot, not a huge concern though. The course itself is in really nice shape and we had a good afternoon playing. Also want to check out the main course where they also have a clubhouse and the driving range. All in all though this course proved to be a good value, and I’ll definitely be back.

Initially the golf course a little hard to find because it’s located inside of a neighborhood and there’s no direct street to the course. In addition, the course has a brother course called St. Mark Golf Course down the street and I went there instead of «St. Mark Executive Golf Course.» So just know that there are two courses next to each other!
Right now the clubhouse is currently being renovated and they are currently using a temporary movable room, so don’t despair if your expecting a beautiful clubhouse. Other than that, the course was very fun to play. Its a short 2,700 yard course, 18 full holes, with some tricky hole locations for fun!
I enjoyed this visit with one friend and we loved it. The golf carts did not have GPS on them, but we weren’t complaining because we just used the GolfShot app on our phones to give us yardage. The pace of play was great with no hold ups on any hole! There were even a walking twosome playing ahead of us, and never did we have to wait. Props to the team here for setting up great tee times!

St. Marks Executive is the best short course in North County without a doubt. For the same amount of time (and money) as you would spend in a typical driving range session you can play 18 challenging holes of golf in about 2.5 hours.
A great course for beginners and experienced golfers alike it will challenge your putting and short shot distance control, while building confidence in new golfers who may not have the skills yet to tackle a full course. My son and wife both new to golf enjoy the layout, and as a mid-​handicapper it has enough variety that I play it at least once a week.
The staff is incredibly friendly and will go out of their way to ensure that you have a pleasant experience. While a lot of courses «take» customer feedback, the pro shop staff and maintenance crew actually listen. From stocking our favorite refreshments, to taking the speed down on the greens when they got too fast.
I’m also very excited about the new clubhouse they are building — It’s going to be two stories with a bar and full size golf simulator, I can’t wait, not that i need any more reason to spend more time there :-)

This a Great Course! I recently moved to San Diego almost a year ago and had recently started playing golf before I moved. I have played a few of the executive courses in the area and this is by far the best. If you’re looking for an inexpensive executive course that’s well worth the money this is it. And I love that I’m able to play a full round in around 3 hours or less.
I have been coming here about once a week for a couple months now. The course is in great condition, excellent greens and a very friendly staff.
They have been making many changes and are headed in the right direction. They have new carts, new cart paths and are renovating their clubhouse right now. This course is great and improves every time I come out to play. Would recommend it to any new or even experienced golfer.

If you are looking to satisfy your golf itch without a five hour time commitment, Lake San Marcos Executive (now maybe St. Mark’s Executive) is the course for you. Tee times can be found online at third party vendors, including some ridiculously low pre-​paid tee times. I have paid $ 5 to walk this course by paying in advance online.
The course is a par 58 and features four short par 4’s; the remaining holes are all par 3. The longer holes do not require a driver or even a wood, but you can take out the big lumber if you like. Definitely more than an pitch and putt – the distance between the holes and surrounding trees make fore pleasing surroundings. The greens are small and relatively flat; there is not a whole lot of break in most putts.
Perhaps the downside with a course like this is similarity between many of the holes; your 100 yard club is definitely going to get a workout. Some may suffer «wedge-​fatique,» but I think there is just enough variation and pleasant scenery to make it interesting.
Overall, I think excellent value. It’s not regulation golf but it doesn’t pretend to be.

Whatever ass hat was working today (old grumpy douche) seemed like he was being forced to work, and acted as if ringing me up to play a damn game of golf was an inconvenience to him. Weak pasta, there are plenty of other cheap, better courses to play. Also, 75% of the times ive been there, walkers slllllllllloooooooooowwwwwwww the pace to a hault, and are offended if you ask to play through… cool…

Only golfed here once just a few weeks ago, but I was very impressed with the conditions of the course and the greens. Paid $ 18 for 18 holes with cart.
Zero complaints, good time, good value. Very few bare spots in the heat of the summer.

Been here probably 20 – 30 times over the last year. All employees are friendly and sometimes wiling to «compromise» on the price if its slow. Twilight prices are cheap, and when they aerate the greens prices are cut for a week or so.
They even allow 5-​somes if you let people play through and it’s not crowded.

My boyfriend and I have been here a couple times, and both times the employees have been very friendly. The golf course is nice, some holes are more challenging than others, which my boyfriend likes. I dont golf much, so i usually just drive the cart and watch him. Sometimes i will play one or two holes, or until i get fed up with my horrible golf skills. :)
Some of the paths are not in good condition, but from the looks of it yesterday, i think they are working on improving the course.
We will definitely be back here soon!

They are starting to improve the course conditions. They have new golf carts that have cup, tee, and ball holders. They also don’t have the parking brake issue that I had before. They are reseeding several of the tee boxes. In my option, the next step would be to repair the cart paths.

This is a pretty small course with mostly par 3 and 4s. There are two 300 yard courses, but thats about it. For the most parts its pretty nice. I dislike that the course is so close to houses. One clurse had a house maybe 20 yards passed the green. I hit the house. My fault for not being that good. But still if I broke some glass it would of killed my day. The course is really cheap to play one. Log onto
and book tee times for half price. A cart really isnt needed, but it does make playing much more fun not having to walk around everywhere.
I will be coming back. it was 38 for 2 with a cart. If you time it right, you can go back through and keep playing.
