The waiting room just consisted of a few seats and a tv, but it only took about ten minutes to get an oil change and they give student discounts! They check through a lot of stuff and let you know what could be done, but they definitely don’t push you to buy anything else. I’ll for sure be going there again!

Well I got taken advantage of and learned a pricey lesson.
I dont know a lot about cars and car maintenance so when the worker here pointed to some gunk and said «that’s really bad, this looks like its never had an engine flush» I got concerned. I asked how often it needed it and he said «every 15,000 miles, and this might not get all of it so you’re gonna want to do it again very soon».
He made it sound like my car would break down soon if I didnt get this service.
But afterward doing as much research as I could the general consensus from the manufacturer and from most mechanics is to NEVER do an engine flush as it runs the risk of damaging and dramatically decreasing the lifespan of your engine, and that there’s no way a minute lube worker could make that call if any flush was necessary at immediate glance like the worker here did.
The fact that he made up bogus numbers and said I better do it a second time soon to be safe is pretty awful.
Be smart. Learn from my mistake. If youre looking for a good oil place definitely skip this one. They truly do not care.
EDIT: got a message from owner. Its a considered and courteous response. But doesnt address that manufacturers don’t just not acknowledge it, they say NOT to do it. Didnt acknowledge that the worker just rushed to offer it without any actual assessment if it was needed or could damage the engine. Didnt acknowledge that «engine flushes» are largely superfluous and unnecessary (its better to just do another oil change relatively sooner if you’re worried about excess buildup) and definitely an unnecessary upsell that was pushed as highly crucial, going against the company ethos. And that company ethos and positive reviews found here on Unilocal are what attracted me here over the many other options for oil changes. Hopefully this review sheds a better light for customers.
You cant change a bad experience, but you can do better in the future. Good luck.

The best place in town for oil changes. I went there for an oil change and they were super busy and short handed, but kirby was so professional and helpful. I got my oil changed and was out in less than an hour. Jay serviced my vehicle and totally kept me informed on what it needed without trying to upcharge me like most oil service shops do. Its a local business and not a big franchised box shop. It was voted best lube shop in Hays county 2015 for a reason.

Best place I’ve found to get my oil changed! I used their shop in Kerrville and loved that they didn’t try to sell me services I didn’t need. They were honest, efficient, and super friendly. This new location is closer to me, and the service is just as great as the one in Kerrville. I went in during my lunch break and was out within 20 minutes. You also get a discount if you’re a student! Highly recommend it!
