I love this café in the hospital! It’s like being in a diner! Never would have thought of having diner food in a hospital. I was bringing my wife to mills to have surgery and it was going take a few hours. It was 8:30 in the morning, so after I left the surgery room I was going to walk around downtown San Mateo to get something to eat. But before I even left the hospital I walked by the celebrity café on the first floor of the hospital. I was intrigued so I walked in and I was amazed that it was a diner! I looked at the menu and they had a great selection to choose from! Omelettes, pancakes, sausage and eggs, hashbrowns, even Filipino breakfast! Tosilog, longsilog! I was so surprised! I settled on a joes scramble. Scrambled eggs with sausage, grilled onions, mushrooms, spinach and cheese. Also came with fresh hashbrowns and toast. It was really good! Especially for just being in a hospital. I didn’t have to go out of the hospital to eat and that was great!

Let me say this, it may not be the best place I have ever been to but it is far and away the best food I have ever got at a hospital. I had a burger it was huge and very good and the fries were the steak style very nice as well the service was good on top of it all. This place would be worth stopping at even if you were not going to be at the hospital

The family goes out of their way to make you a satisfied customer. The mediterranean fare is outstanding. The kebabs and rice are as good as any local restaurant. The atmosphere is chaotic but that’s part of the charm.

It’s a great little café with a lot of diner food variety as well. The prices could be better. But it’s the only dining option I know of inside the hospital. So I can’t complain too much. The service was good. The food was okay. I had a grilled ham and cheese with fries. It was greasy self-destructive food goodness. The fries are more like potato wedges. But I don’t think I’d buy it again. A plus is that they have a butt load of bread options you can choose from. I decided to stick to multi-grain so I’d have at least some nutrition in this meal. I also got a coffee in morning once. There were a ton of options. I got some kind of vanilla-whatever kind that was also alright.

The Café is run by nice people and the food is good. Don’t go in with high expectations and you will be happy. I think the pricing is really competitive. Their service is fast which is a big plus

Was here early in the morning and had enjoyed my previous experience in a Celebrity Café in Burlingame, so I decided to give this one a try. I ordered a breakfast burrito and it may have been just a tortilla with bland filling. Besides the bacon, there was no flavor from the potatoes, eggs, or black beans. I was terribly disappointed, but that was my fault for expecting their burrito would be the standards of a Mission Street Taqueria in the City.

3.5 stars This café inside the hospital is family run by very nice people. They have some decent prices for some eggs, toast and hash browns. The basics are available. Get some coffee to go!
