Chipotle Mexican Grill

Since its inception, I’ve loved Chipotle and now have eaten at many locations across the country. Usually I know what to expect, and receive both the quality of food and customer service that I’m pleasantly accustomed to.
I’ve visited this location a handful of times now however and can say with full confidence it’s well below par. The meat is typically overcooked and left out far too long — never have I seen a Chipotle that seems to struggle as much with freshness. The customer service isn’t all that bad, but it’s not exactly good either. More so mediocre.
Disappointing but I suppose there are other locations not all that far away.

Our experience has been nothing but positive in the 2.5 years my family has frequented this Chipotle location. Fresh meals every time. Guacamole is awesome. Lime & salty chips addictive. Sour cream is delicious. The managers and crew at this store are especially good at catering orders for high school teams, events and parties. Large orders are always flawlessly prepared, well-​packaged for transport, and ready on time. Smiles and positive attitude always served on the side.

I saw a lady cutting the meat even after she cut her hand with the knife. Her finger was still bleeding and she didn’t stop. Disgusting! I hate this place now.

This is just a culmination of all the bad experiences we have had here. Today we went at 845 and they were out of mild salsa. Considering they close at 10pm they had over an hour to make more but the staff was too busy cleaning up and not interested in cooking. The person put the smallest amount of each item and just wanted to get out of there. Never coming to this location again.

I’m really baffled by the negative reviews… This is my go-​to Chipotle in the area. Friendly staff, fast, and well prepared ingredients. Don’t let the vocal minority fool you. I have a feeling most customers are happy and don’t bother with Unilocal because Chipotle is a «known quantity».
I actually live a bit closer to the «Chess Drive» location and avoid that one because they don’t prepare their grilled ingredients as well, often a bit under cooked.

I have been to lots of Chipotles before but this visit the food wasn’t made right. Chipotle is usually consistent but this one seem off! The chips were really oily and the burrito just didn’t taste right.

Can I give them a zero star? We went in at 8.30 pm to this restaurant and ordered the chips and guacamole and they were out of Chips. We ordered the kids meal for my son and they were out of fruit — this is unacceptable! I asked them if they had a substitute for the kids meal and they didn’t –I spoke to the manager and he said they would comp the kids meal — I told him there was a reason they are a 2-​star and I would probably not come back — AVOID

I’m a fan of this location. It’s my local Chipotle and I’ve never had a problem with serving sizes or with the service. Just not stoked about their prices as double meat costs more than $ 12.

Worst customer service. I asked for the code for the restroom. The lady says, «We don’t have a restroom».
Liar! I have used their restroom in the past.
I was going to order a burrito, but just walked out as another associate also gave me bad customer service.

This location is generally less busy and theres lots of underground parking, so i like coming here. Plus the whole foods is next buy for shopping and the habit is also here if someone in ur party wants burgers.

what’s consistent is. they are ALWAYS out of one thing or another. and super stingy. burrito ends up being the size of a softball, lotta dry tortilla bites. its probably better to pick up a burrito at whole foods instead.

I’m a Chipotle fan. The burritos and bowls are consistent and tasty. I’ll give them that.
My problem is with how every single employee reacts, every single time, when I show up to get my online order. Yes, I’m a techie, so I utilize apps to order food sometimes. I like it. It’s quick and easy.
I normally show up a few minutes early from the estimated time given to pick up my food. I do that all the time, anywhere. I’d rather wait a couple minutes for a hot pizza right out of the oven, for example, rather than one that’s been sitting in the warmer.
So without fail, every time, the employees make a big deal that I’m early. «It’s not 2:00 (11:30, 1:00, etc.) yet. You’re early.» I know. «I guess we can make it now.» Great! Please do! It’s like they enjoy publicly shaming people for being early. It’s uncomfortable and not very hospitable. It’s not like I raise a stink for them not having it for me early, at all. Just go ahead and make it for me. I ain’t mad at ya.
Well, now I am, actually.

Worst Chipotle I have been to. SOOO stingy with food. Where other burrito bowls are full everything, here they it’s empty. I asked for chicken and they scooped like 8 little tiny pieces when I asked for more, they asked if I want to pay for double chicken?! I felt like saying I would just like the amounts other chipotle places serve?! I would not go back! Lots of places to eat around here, that aren’t rude and give you the correct portions.

Worst Chipotle ever! Don’t even think about this place.
The customer service is horrible and the food is not what you expect from Chipotle. Oh, and the portions are very small!

Worst Chipotle ever! I asked for a quesorito and they said it was $ 3 extra. 3 dollars to melt the cheese really quick? Crazy. The employees act like they will get paid more if they serve you less because they put half a scoop of chicken on my little burrito. Never coming here again.

Disclosure — I buy chipotle a lot — I have permanently skipped this store out of my list now — and despite the distance I have to travel I go to San Carlos store instead.
I like Chipotle — I had to review this one to make sure you know what your experience might look like if you happen to hit this one and stumble upon Unilocal first — you are in luck — I am here to tell you that unless you cannot eat anywhere else, you should skip this one.
We have been following this store off and on ever since it opened — at first we thought ok this is new so lets give them some time. Few salient features of this one are —
1. They serve you less than what a normal chipotle serves — you ask for rice they give you a very very light scoop of rice.
2. If you are vegan or vegetarian — they are extremely messy — I have had my wife’s burrito bowl contain pieces of meat which we do not eat without exception — we had to discard those completely. This hasn’t occurred once but many times.
3. Their Salsa’s taste consistency (the hot salsa) — some days sucks — its watered down crap, some days its so harsh that I’d be rushing to eat something sweet.
4. I have had atleast 3+ occurrences where myself and or my wife’s salsa was completely skipped from the order.
5. They never prepare burrito bowls from online order in time — you almost always have to wait for them to complete when you arrive at the place (I almost always make sure I arrive about 20 minutes late and many times they are still not done).
6. There have been instances where we have been told by the people there that they only serve 1 scoop of rice or 1 scoop beans per bowl, if you want more we will charge you more — No thank you — I would pay at a place where I think the service is pay worthy.
7. Then comes the cutlery — I have had people tell me there that I need to re-​use paper bags — please Chipotle! Is business so down right now?
Do yourself a favor — unless you are extremely hungry skip this one — you’ve got great other choices in the area — and this is in same market as in Whole Foods — so plenty of choices available.

The negative reviews about this place are hilarious! How can you complain about service at a point and serve restaurant? It’s like complaining about the cafeteria lady in elementary school! Why? The food is the same she is just scooping it onto your plate!
All chipotles are equal to me. I know what I’m getting and it always tastes the same! Fresh and made up of the ingredients of my choosing.

I work for chipotle for about 5 years. Eating everyday never got tired of it…
I came back to eat my barbacoa and chicken bowl after 5 months I quit…

I love Chipotle but this location SUCKS! They are so stingy! I am attaching a pic of my burrito bowl tonight that does not even cover the bottom of the bowl. I should call and ask for my money back. The girl making the bowls was In such a hurry to make the food (there was not a long line) she was just throwing them together not even a full scoop of chicken not to mention she didn’t even say hello, thank you, nothing! If you hate your job so much go somewhere else!

I was so excited for Chipotle to be closer to San Mateo. Finally stopped today and I was very disappointed. The staff seemed not interested in their job, almost resentful to the line of people. I ordered my usual chicken bowl, light brown rice (which ended up being the whole bowl full, not light at all), LITTLE bit of hot salsa for taste (HUGE spoon full, the exact opposite of my «little») and corn, which the corn ended up being the best thing. The chicken was blackend and WAY over cooked/​burnt. I’ve never had this at chipotle before :(
Second note, grabbed a bag of chips for my mom. Over half the chips were DRENCHED in salt. Don’t get me wrong, I know we all love their lemon salt but who ever did the salting that day just poured the bottle on them. I can’t even explain how salted they are.
Give this place time, I think it’s to new and they need to figure it out.
