I went to the short lived resurrected one when OTG was trying to do that with food trucks. Very small selection but there were some cool vendors like Scream Sorbet. Too bad it didnt take as I kind of miss having a Monday evening quick food and shopping option

DISCONTINUED. This farmers’ market is no more. I think it was too much out of sight. I’m just giving it 1 star to get someone’s attention. Remove this listing.

we got there late… some of the vendors were gone. still, it looks pretty small. since vendors were closing, we got a deal on samosas. $ 5 for 4 and they were good. pita bread we bought looked really good, but just ok. we’ll get there earlier next time…

I look forward to Sunday mornings because I know that I will be heading to the Downtown San Mateo Farmer’s Market where I will find fresh, delicious fruit, vegetables, and specialty items. I always buy my organic strawberries here! Delicious!

today’s downtown farmers market wasn’t that busy, vendor wise less than 15. maybe it was holiday related. organizer: urban table locale: 5th& san mateo in parking lot time: sundays, 10 – 2. may-nov. conflicting stories whether it is year round. vendors: indian food, equinox exericise company, 2 bread companies, kettle corn(just packaged, not made on site). orchids, a few organic fruits and vegetables, foodnotes: –lots of parking available. on street. –block away from busy 4th st.

Great location, very nice people! It is still quite a small group — but you can’t beat it. Great produce and specialty items: Indian food, kettle corn, smoked fish. I had the greatest nectarine of my life here. I’ll be back!

Website: Organizer: Urban Table Season: May-November Schedule: Sundays 9am-1:30pm This is so far the best of all the FMs organized by Urban Table. It’s located in the back parking lot of Wells Fargo Bank, just a block away from Suruki market. ** Update 1: originally a seasonal FM(May-Oct), it’s now open year round. It’s a very small FM but it has a good variety of products: organic produce, flowers, fresh fruit, baked goods, breads, Indian foods, honey and even smoked seafood. As usual LOVE the free samples! it’s important to taste before purchase. I bought 3 packs of delicious strawberries. Get the smaller organic ones, much better flavor. There’s blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, and super juicy peaches. Note: In regards to most organic fruits that are allowed to mature«on the vine»(for better flavor), please remember to only buy what u need. Because it has a shorter storage life than supermarket fruits that are ripened artificially with ethylene gas. As mentioned in my review of the North Beach FM, the organizers offer a few high-end services for shoppers: pre-bagged groceries, ability to pay with credit cards, and shopping bags carrying dolly. Have not seen the market currency(but I don’t plan to use that). ** Update 2: This FM was CLOSED in 2012. Organizers weren’t able to attract enough customers to support all their vendors. In my opinion, it’s a bit strange that this FM failed, because this neighborhood is surrounded by numerous condos filled with hundreds of potential customers. Possible reasons: 1– Maybe it’s because the location was somewhat hidden from view, away from the foot traffic on 4th Ave. 2– Maybe the vendors’ food prices weren’t as cheap as residents expected. In general, San Mateo food prices are usually cheaper than SF. 3– Perhaps because most families in San Mateo prefer to buy fresh produce at the gigantic CSMFM.

The location is great! It’s a bit small right now but I’m hoping it will grow and grow! It has all the usual suspects you want to find at a farmer’s market. A couple organic farms, the bread guys, the pastry guy and a few others.
