Like all the other REVIEWS for this store specially PLEASE DO NOT SHOP HERE! The workers here are all incompetent, SLOW and rude.
We recently rented tux for my wedding party of 9 guys so it was pretty huge. The first person who helped us was extremely quick and fast and good. If I were to review only her she would get 5 Stars. Shelley is an amazing person to work with, unfortunately her schedule she was never there for the rest of the time.
Let me first start off when we picked up suit, got in the store NO ONE, greeted us at all, they saw it and when we made our way to the back someone decided to say «Can I help you». First person who came to help us was this lady, she was super slow at getting things done, I think I repeated the Grooms name THREE TIMES to let her know which party it was to pick up. She spent 15 mins arguing with me about its either a tux or suit, which I don’t think it matters if you can just look up the group name. She explained to us that we were able to turn in the rental SUNDAY OR MONDAY and not be charged for a late fee. After getting everything situated, I reminded them that the GUY whose name I found out is Marcus Ramirez, helped the other groomsmen since most of them went in on their own time, got over charged for the rental. I don’t get how that mistake can come into play? We have 9 guys, same group name, and 7 of them paid about $ 170, but two paid $ 230, which is a HUGE difference. I just don’t know how they work and all I got was «Well upon the return we will deal with it then». Really? I just told you that this is the group and why are they still being charged an extra $ 60?
Finally Monday comes along, we come in to return the suits, again NO ONE GREETED US, although they saw us at the counter we were waiting to be helped. First return, Marcus decides to give us a bit of attitude, and say «Wow you guys turned in the suit late, but I waived the $ 20 late fee», I was annoyed, and explained to him that no the lady who is next you who was here on Friday, same goes with you told us it as ok to turn it in on Monday without the late fee again he argues with me stating «I wasn’t there I didn’t approve of anything», I’m sorry if you were there maybe you should have approached us on FRIDAY and made sure things were going ok. And mind you ALL the groomsmen’s were told the SAME information, so either A) Marcus needs to get better training on company policy, B) Or he needs to not work there anymore with all these rude comments and how he handle this situation. We were not wrong in ANY way because we were told we are able to return it a certain time, and customer service 101 why are you even arguing with the customer? Soon after my husband asked are you the manager and he said yes? Rudely enough he starts to scold the other lady saying why you said that, you didn’t tell me, and she goes «Daryl allowed it» which I’m thinking he is the actual manager. As a manger please do that at your own time, to scold your employees in the back, not in front of a PAYING Customer. It’s a little sad that he had to do all that.
Honestly Marcus is the main problem. You can obviously see the previous reviews and ALSO pictures why people having problems with them. They are all rude except Shelley. To come to find out later, my groomsmen told me he called to tell her off in how she handled our group. Shelly did an AMAZING job helping us, it was Marcus who obviously comes up with his own policies, or isn’t on the same page as everyone else. Or he thinks he can get away with whatever he wants because his actual boss isn’t there. I honestly think that store needs to be trained again with company policy AND customer services. I have NEVER in my life had to write such a long review for poor services. I would not recommend EVER again for anyone to come here as most of my friends are getting married this year and the next..

extream poor services and neglect to attend customer needs， the elder man keep customer waited for 10mins but wont bother to answer a short question such as wat is the xtra large look like regarding to the size… wont care to show you the size and wont care for business. and they do not allow you to opened the folded one simply becoz they cannot fold back the way it was… this is so lazy and rude for the excuse of refusing customers!!! well, we would not care to shop here ever again and will not care for this brand ever again.

DO NOT SHOP HERE, STAFF IS INCOMPETENT!!! April 16, 10:30 appointment for tux fitting. Arrive with confirmation number. Daryl and Carla are working, no other customers in the store. They cannot find the confirmation in their system. We provide them the email showing the confirmation number with their location. Blank stares from both of them. They basically refuse to help us, no attempt to rectify the problem. As I start to lose my patience, my son steps in and says it is obviously a problem with their computer system and asked if they can still take the measurements. Daryl tells Carla to input the information into the computer while he tends to another customer who just walked in. She looks at the computer with a blank stare and then walks away and starts fiddling with some shirts. As we are dumbfounded by this blatant lack of customer support, I ask Daryl if he can help us since Carla obviously does not know what she is doing. He pulls her back to the computer and tells her she cannot just walk away from the customer and tells her again to start inputting the information to get the appointment started. 20 minutes has now gone by and Carla is standing in front of the computer pretending to input our information. I call Men’s Wearhouse in Colma and ask if they can take us for a tux fitting. They say no problem, we leave and let Carla know we will be writing a scathing review on Unilocal about our experience. She looks up and says «okay.» I hope the owner of this store reads this review as he should know what kind of employees he has working for his business. Just lost about $ 2000 sale.

wow. nov 20^th @ 11 oclock am. buying a dress tux shirt and a guy named marcus ramirez said i can’t fit it at the store but i can fit it at home and bring it back if i don’t like it. i told him i can’t because i live far from the store. he said it’s a store policy (i was starting to sense an attitude coming from him). i was surpised of jos a bank’s policy. i left and came back thinking i’ll just drive back to return it. so i paid for it and decided to look for other dress shirts. oh boy, oh boy, thats when i felt the rudeness. thats when he asked me to «look for my size myself and „show“ him if i find one my size» in an arrogant manner. i’ll make the long story short, i ended up returning it that same time without leaving the store and he said he has to mail me the cheque because it’s store policy. once i got home i saw the return policy was credit cards can be returned immiadiatley. Now i’m wondering if tux dress shirts cant be fitted at the store because it the policy as he said. this guy is the rudest. never again marcus ramirez, never again!

Since August, I have lost 30 pounds and I needed my suits that I purchased from Jos A, Bank less a 2 years ago to be altered. Not only did they fit me after the alterations were done, they made me look goooooooood! The service Alejandro Torres provided me in September as he took his time to ensure the new measurements were precise and correct was incredible! My suits look and feel great on me and I can’t say enough great things about this location and especially the amazing service I received from Alejandro Torres. Thank you Alejandro!

I bought a sports jacket here a couple of years ago because of the big sales they had (by one get 3 free, etc.) and I have to say you get what you pay for. The elbows of this sports jacket started wearing out after one year! I’m not rough on my jackets but wear them daily to work. One I buy from Nordstroms are more expensive but last much longer. That’s the last time I buy anything here. I would say that the service was good but not worth the price when you have to replace it in 1 – 2 years.

In anticipation for my wedding I dropped into JoS A Bank for various items I needed: Ties for me and my best man. Pocket squares for the groomsmen. A white shirt for me (because the fitted one I ordered from Indochino didn’t fit quite right and the replacement couldn’t arrive in time. Even thought I was not a high dollar customer, these guys made me feel at home and respected — and tried to find whatever I needed whenever possible. They even tried to find me the best deals possible. I really enjoyed my experience there. When I need to work on the dressier end of my wardrobe again, I’ll certainly be back.
One tip: There seem to be all sorts of sales and promotions going on all the time here. I believe that the best shopping experience would probably come from finding out what the current promos are and, if possible, what promos are coming up. Then make you selections.

I’d give zero stars if I could. It took the store manager plus another employee an HOUR and a HALF to take two sets of measurements for wedding tuxedos and put it into the computer. Are you fucking kidding me??? We were going to buy two suits too but not a chance I will buy anything from this place. Ever.

Having never bought a full suit I thought now would be a good a time as any since there was a buy one get 3 free deal. As with most deals that are «too good to be true» I was very hesitant at first.
However, after spending an hour in the store with a very helpful staff, I was more than pleased with the selections. At no point was there a push, but there were jewels of information he gave just through the general conversation. After ordering the suits (one was available in the store but I decided to wait) I got a call several days later for an in person interview. I went in on Friday and needed the alteration done by Tuesday. Everything fit well and the slacks just needed a hem. Less than 8 hours later that slacks were done!
I can’t say enough positives for this great experience. I know were I will be getting my general suits from now on. Again the customer service was above and beyond anything I’ve seen in many years!

I’m not a man and I don’t wear suits but my husband does. After checking out men’s wharehouse and a bunch of other stores we went with jos a bank. We got a good suit online had it delivered to the store and had them hem and take in the pants. We then took it to a wedding. Wile there I noticed a big iron stain on the jacket at waist length. It was horrible and after the wedding he had to go on a business trip, we didn’t have time to replace the suit before we went. I called the store today and they said they would replace the suit and give us a gift card. In my opinion good customer service isn’t about not making mistakes it’s how they fix them. In my opinion they fixed it very well! We will continue to purchase work clothes here! Magnet was the manager and very nice. Also there is this little old guy who is very helpful and not snobby at all, he even understood we were on a budget unlike mens wharehouse!

This place has a good setup, some nice deals, and some semi quality clothing.
But I hate walking into this place while shopping. The employees are paid by commission and they constantly follow me around, especially when it’s super slow like they are claiming me as their customer. They ask me if I need any help, I say no but they still follow me around. It makes me a bit uncomfortable being followed the whole time.
I prefer it when I go to another store where the staff is too snobby to follow me around, at least I get some privacy while shopping.

My husband’s boss is a sharp-​dresser and told him this is where he got his duds. Since neither my husband nor I are fans of ironing, we found some gorgeous wrinkle-​free shirts here. We liked the quality at JoS A Bank better than Nordstrom’s.
The guys working here are nice, and it has a bit of the feel of the old-​fashioned tailor where they actually measure the customers. My husband had been wearing the wrong size shirt before coming here and getting properly sized. I recommend the tailor-​fit — those are the most flattering button-​down shirts.
The color selection could be better (more vibrant), but I really like the quality of the clothing. The best time to come is when there’s a sale. I’m a big fan.

I had to buy a suit for a wedding and decided to give Joseph A Bank a try. My wife thought they would be too expensive. They private label their suits and the quality was impressive for what turned out to be a reasonable price. We shopped several other places including Men’s Wearhouse and J A B offered a better value.
Michael took care of me, did a great job marking for the Tailor. The suit was ready on time and fit me very well. Overall a good experience. Job well done Michael.

I feel like I am going to a car dealership when I go here.
The prices are all over the place and bargaining kicks in when you buy more than one suit.
I needed 6 suits for a wedding and got it all set with one employee (she was great). I probably would have bought all 6 suits for the boys if she were the one that helped me.
Then I came back and worked with the manager. She was pushy and didn’t make time for me. The suits are great, so I sent the guys in to get fitted. One guy is very skinny. She made multiple comments about his body. I am sure she didn’t mean to hurt his feelings, but she really hurt his feelings. NOTE TO MANAGER, «be nicer to your customers, you are great at finding them a well fitted suit, but you make them feel insecure and rushed.»
We ended up getting the suits at a different place that guaranteed the men in the wedding would «Like the way they look.»

This review is mostly about the bathroom. In general, I wouldn’t bother to write a review mostly about a bathroom, but in this case, it merits a public shaming. A few businesses seem to share this bathroom – I’m hoping one of them is NOT the next-​door restaurant, Shabuway. Anyhow, this bathroom:
1. Lacked soap
2. Lacked toilet seat covers
3. Lacked toilet paper
4. Smelled of urine
Gross, right? Thank God there were paper towels.
Yeah, their clothes are fine, I guess, if overpriced. The guy called me «sir» (sigh), which is forgivable, since I have short hair and was wearing a polo shirt, but when I turned around and he looked startled, he didn’t apologize, just acted super awkward.
On the plus side, the salespeople were very helpful for my friend, who was looking for a suit. But since they have a *very* limited number of styles there, they were trying to get him into one of *their* suits, and the fact is, some other brand would probably fit him better; none of their cuts really suited him.
Also, everything is a little too pastel and a little too overpriced, IMHO.

Picked up a nice sweater for the hubby for work. Great prices. Great customer service. Right now they are having a fab 50% off the entire store! The sales folks were very nice.

The commercials are annoying, but the service here is great.
I had to get a certain suit for my brother’s wedding. He informs me they are on sale. I was out of town and missed the sale by 2 days. I called in and acted dumb. I got the sales price!
The guy was really nice. I got the call the suit was in, went to try it on. I’ll get it altered in a few months, 6 weeks prior to the wedding. He offered to hold it there for me. I like that better than having it take up space in my small closet!

I have never felt so unwelcome at a store. I know that I am a bit younger than the average age of the clientele and may have been dressed casually (khakis and a dress t-​shirt) but I did not deserve such treatment.
I was a first-​time customer of JoS A. Bank and I have been very disappointed in my experience. This past Saturday, 06÷13÷09, I walked into the San Mateo, CA store and tried to purchase some clothing and I waited 20 minutes at the counter with clothing in hand before I was even acknowledged. A simple, «Just a moment…» would have sufficed. There was a customer who was serviced in front of me and once his purchase was made, I was left abandoned at the counter. I understand the store was very busy due to the sale but the fact I was not even addressed for that period of time when I was ready to make a purchase made me feel very unwelcome. Once I was eventually acknowledged, it took another 15 minutes to check out. I am not exaggerating because my wife and I started timing after the first 10 minutes because we were astounded at the wait. We were about to leave and we should have.
To make matters worse, I had also placed a shirt on hold and when I returned today (Tuesday, 06÷16÷09) my shirt was not available.
If you don’t look like you are in your 50s, you are not going to get served. I will not be going to this chain again and will be returning the items I managed to purchase the first time.

Bought one suit here as well as some two dress shirts. The tailoring and the cut of the suit looks fine, I just wished they had the pants non-​pleated like the other poster had mentioned. But it looked good on me, and that was fine. The pricing was also moderate, as I came during their sale. $ 275 for a decent suit with alterations made.
The staff was very helpful, gave courtesy calls when the suit was ready, They carried some good shoes and other accessories in the store. When measuring for the break, the Cole Haan loafers they let me try on were absolutely buttery.
Take away one star for having a small selection of shirts with necksizes above 17 ½. I played football and wrestled, so my neck is more developed than a lot of pencilnecks out there :) Men’s Warehouse was better able to accomodate my shirt needs.

Stopped in here when looking for something, very simple, that I needed for work.
I can’t believe this chain is still in business… an entire store filled with almost entirely pleated pants… um hello, get out of the freakin 90s…
I think that may have been the last time I actually shopped in one of these prior…
Are its buyers just the 50+ crowd? Then I’d recommend you don’t staff it with a clueless pimply faced kid…
they must have rent control on this locale or something, otherwise I don’t see how this location stays afloat.
