Mints & Honey

(Now located in San Carlos?) Mints and Honey provided the flowers for my wedding and did an AMAZING job. I actually was still in search for a florist a week before my wedding and was sort of in panic mode. I was contacted to Canna to help me out. She was so professional and easy to talk to. I didn’t have a clear vision of what I wanted but more of a general color pattern and look of the event. She asked me a lot of really great questions to get to know my likes and dislikes. She made sure to also work within my budget. Come wedding day, I was blown away by the flowers and how wonderful they looked. They exceeded my expectations and received lots of compliments of how beautiful the bouquets and the floral «arch» we created with lilies and hydrangeas. I couldn’t have asked for a better florist and hope that you hire them if you are looking for an amazing florist!

Canna is fantastic. She went above and beyond what we expected. She also put up with our perpetual change requests and indecision — kudos to her patience. In the end, we got a beautiful display of flowers that our guests really enjoyed. Thanks you so much Canna!

Canna is amazing! We had Mints & Honey as our florist for our wedding. We have no idea what kind of flowers we like when we first approach Canna but she guided us thru the design process and patiently answered all our questions, and modified it to suit our budget.
On the wedding day Canna and her team handled everything smoothly and I just love everything there, the bouquets, centerpieces, ceremony flowers, cake decorations… everything is perfect!
Til now when my friends are talking about my wedding they would compliment how beautiful the flowers were on my wedding day! I would highly recommend Mints & Honey and thank you so much Canna!

Like I said in my prior review (the one done in 2009), I did in fact use Mints & Honey as my florist for my wedding! The flowers turned out well and everyone was gushing over how pretty they were. My husband, who didn’t have much of a reaction to anything in our wedding, even said they looked well! It was great that they knew our venue and also provided suggestions to what would look good there. They were right and in the pictures it turned out even better. Thank you again!

I would give Mint designs 100 stars if I could. Mint designs was our wedding florists this past weekend and I was absolutely blown away with their arrangements. It was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Canna was extremely friendly and so easy to work with. I came in not knowing what I needed for my wedding décor. Canna has so many creative ideas that she incorporated into our wedding. Not knowing specifics about flowers and designs, we gave her overall ideas about the styles and abstract thoughts about what we wanted and she delivered with arrangements that were not only exactly what we wanted but even better. Tons of compliments from our guests have been pouring in afterwards with most saying it was the nicest floral decorations they’ve ever seen at a wedding. You can tell that Canna didn’t just treat our wedding as merely delivering a service but she took a great deal of thought and care to make everything beautiful like a work of art. From the centerpieces to the boutonnieres, the details were amazing. When my bride walked into the room she pretty much speechless for a good 10 minutes. Even my groomsmen who don’t normally notice flowers were completely floored. There were moment’s during the reception, sitting at the head table, that I felt like we were on an extravagant set of a movie.
After meeting with several florist during our initial planning phase and giving them an idea of how much we wanted to spend, we felt pretty discouraged about what was possible with our budget. Canna, on the other hand, reassured us a beautiful wedding was possible and she delivered way more than what we expected. I’m still not sure how she was able to pull it off.
At each meeting with Canna, we didn’t feel like just clients. It felt more like a friend that really cared that our wedding turned out as amazing as possible. In the future, if it’s helping a friend plan a wedding, throwing a party, there will be absolutely no doubt that I use Mints designs.

I love Mints Design! the first time I saw mints’ work on their website, I knew that they’re the one who can make the design that I’m trying to achieve on my wedding. Mints did a great job on my designing my reception. All the guests want to take the branches centerpieces home, even the apothecary jars rental. Mints was constantly in contact with me during the planning. I asked mints to update my contract, so many times and mints still showed me patience. Thanks mints for designing my wedding!

I am up-​ing my star reviews for Mints because I am so impressed with their customer service. I had initially wrote a somewhat negative review on my disappointment with my wedding flower arrangements that they had done. Canna was so sad and reached out to me and apologized profusely. We worked it out and I edited my review. Then, a couple days later, I get a phone call from a bakery for a special package from Mints. Canna had ordered a box of delicious cupcakes to deliver to my house. On top of that, because I wasn’t home until the evening, the bakery didn’t deliver it after hours so Canna had her partner hand deliver it to my house.
Despite being disappointed with the size of my wedding flower arrangements, the flowers were still very nice but I am just amazed at how above and beyond Canna went to make sure her customers are happy. As she is just starting out her business, she is taking this whole thing as a learning experience. I can tell that she doesn’t see me as just another customer but wants to maintain a long standing business relationship. Just her efforts to make me happy AFTER the event and already being paid shows how hard she works and how much she cares.

I first saw Mints creations at a slow food event when Michael Pollan was lecturing at Alameda point. I remember how wonderful the mason jar arrangements looked, and how seasonally appropriate the flowers were. Mints refreshing style accomplishes simplicity In an overly saturated imported market. It’s really nice to be inspired and consider arranging those items growing near you that bees might even be inspired by.

Mints rocks! No carnations, baby’s breath, ferns, or grandma vases here. If you want a truly thoughtful and impressive flower arrangement or potted plant to bring/​send someone then don’t stop anywhere else. I have received and purchased several arrangements from Mints and they never disappoint, they are always stunning.

There’s an extra invisible bonus star for Mints here for indulging me in my finest hour — When I showed up there to buy a christmas gift for a co-​worker without my wallet, the owner was kind enough to wrap and let me take my sweet african orchid with only my promises to come back and pay for it.
Sometimes living and working on this claustrophobic little island has its benefits.

Little greenery oasis on Park Street. Blink and you’ll miss it. It’s literally the size of a doorway off the street. The long corridor into the shop is lined with cutesy potted plants. Quaint place to shop for that thoughtful bouquet or plant gift even for yourself!

Mints is AWESOME! I used Mints as my florist for my wedding in ¹¹⁄₀₈ and I could not have been happier. They worked with my ideas and came up with some great designs for arrangements. Mints designs are unique and beautiful.
On my wedding day I was STRESSED but the flowers were there on time and where they needed to be. My bouquet was BEAUTIFUL and just how I had pictured it! Our ceremony arrangements were also gorgeous and our table arrangements were simple and elegant.
I, being the stressed bride that I was, even forgot to pay the deposit on time and when I called to freak out thinking they would have canceled the whole deal they just told me to bring the deposit the next day (two days before the wedding!), nice!
Bottom line: Beautiful flowers, unique designs, great service.

Mint saved my butt.
It was Friday of Mother’s Day weekend. I called in an order at 3pm and they delivered by the end of the day. This is huge! None of the other flower shops would help.

I’ve always been so impressed with the work product that I receive from mints that I’ve recommended this place to all my friends. My family uses them for every occasion from weddings to baby showers to birthday parties, and we ALWAYS get compliments on the flowers. The guests like them so much that they passive aggressively fight over who gets to bring home the center piece.
They were so easy to work with and delivered right on time so my schedule for any of our events were not affected.
Just to give you an idea of how pretty the arrangements are: After my sister’s wedding reception Saturday night, we packed up what we could from the restaurant but we were too pooped to bring home all the non-​guest table floral arrangements. We asked if it was alright if we came by the next day to pick them up.
This restaurant was a huge Sunday brunch location, so it was packed when I showed up the next morning to pick up the flowers. The restaurant had actually taken the arrangements and put them around the waiting area as decoration. As I was reaching to gather them up, quite a few of the patrons were commenting on how beautiful they were and were rather disappointed that I was taking them away. A couple of them asked where they were from.
I don’t know if these people ever made it over to Mint’s, but this is generally the reaction I get from their flowers.

a friend recommended them for wedding flowers so i checked out their website and requested more information.
the first email i got from them said that they require a minimum order of $ 2,500. i was a bit turned off by this but i was willing to at least talk to them first to find out if they were worth it, so i emailed them again and asked for a consultation.
it took them 6 days to respond to my email, by then, i’ve spoken with 4 other florist, who were much quicker to respond, did orders based on the amount of flowers you need (or had a lower min. order requirement) and scheduled consultations with me within a few days of the times i requested.
i’m not ruling out the possibility that they might be so good and overwhelmed with inquiries that they don’t have time to respond to each customer, but i think there are plenty of talented floral designers out there who are more professional and more responsive, and that is very important to me, with less than 8 months to plan my wedding…

We hired Mints Flower for our wedding in The Fairmont San Francisco.
I was looking for a florist that can combine east & west flower arrangement style for my wedding. Mints Flower is one of the few who can did it. I was lucky to be able to find them.
When I visited their store, I’m surprised at how cute their studio is.
They can convert a place which basically like a hallway into a really cute floral studio. They have cute small pond, cute flower pots and cute flower arrangement. I love visiting their store.
Dorothy was so helpful and professional from the planning stage until D-​day. She really listens to what I want. Together with her talented team, they can fulfill my expectation. Their creations are really beautiful. My guests were impressed by their creativity.
I definitely highly recommend them.

Unilocal’s 2 star designation of «Meh. I’ve experienced better» is pretty much right on with my experience with Mints.
I called several days ahead and made an appointment to speak with someone about doing the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres for my wedding. First step. Good.
However, when I arrived for my appointment, I was told that they were running late with a previous client. Fine. Ok. No problem. It happens. However, 15 minutes later, I was still standing there (the place is tiny and there is nowhere to sit unless you’re having a consultation) and there was no sign of the consultation even being close to wrapping up. Multiple laptops still out, couple still chatting away and flipping through books and binders, etc.
I was about a minute from just giving up and walking out when the consultant comes out and apologizes for leaving me standing there. Fine. Ok. Thank you for acknowledging that. However, she then goes back to the previous couple and hands the girl behind the counter an order form to go over with me.
Lady, I don’t know flowers from molecular genetics. I am not a «flower person.» I don’t know what I want, and I’m certainly not ready to order anything without sitting down and talking about my options. The girl who helped me had some basic suggestions, but had virtually no technical knowledge, experience, or time to spend helping me figure out what I was going to need. I was out of there in less than 10 minutes from the time she started speaking to me, and no one ever followed up with me after the fact.
I’m usually pretty flexible, but if I have an appointment, I expect that appointment to be honored. I left feeling like since I wasn’t going to be spending thousands on my flowers, they just passed me off. Not a good feeling.

I Heart Mints Floral Design! Ever since I looked through their portfolio during our consultation, I’ve been in awwwee with them since. I’m so happy I used Mints as the florist for my wedding. My photographer even had a comment about how great their flowers looked! I highly recommend using Mints as your wedding florist! Their designs are so unique & artistic… i did extensive research and I couldn’t find any other floral vendor in comparison. I met with a total of 6 florist and no one could have been as artistic & unique. I love their little studio in Alameda, I just want to buy everything in there!
One more thing… they really listen to what you want and their customer service is super great!

Mints Floral Design Studio is the cutest floral design studio ever! I bought my Venus Flytrap here. Sadly, my Venus died. The soil has since sprouted other green things that have no connection to those gaping mouths of old. I… kill…plants…
I would consider having Mints handle my wedding or other special event, if they are reasonable enough. I support small businesses. I may just go right on a head and book them for something!

I have never been inside this shop, although I have been the recipient of many, many Mint flowers. These babies last f-​o-​r-​e-​v-​e-​r. My last dozen roses lasted for 2 weeks before they even started to show signs of age.
