I’ve had several sessions with Paul, after I was rear-​ended a couple months ago. The 1^st time I went in, I was in pain and he was able to see me last minute. Since then, he’s been very flexible in working with my schedule and has even moved a personal appointment to accommodate me.
Not only is Paul extremely friendly and generous, he also really knows what he’s doing. He knows which muscles to work on and how to apply acupressure to get out all the kinks. I’m used to getting deep-​tissue massages, so was able to handle the pressure, but he did make sure that I was ok with the pain level throughout the session. Paul takes his time and focuses on making sure that I walk out of there feeling good and relieved of the stiffness/​pain, he actually really cares about his clients! Since then, I referred a couple of coworkers to him and they too enjoyed the experience and praised Paul’s technique.

I’ve had two appointments with Paul and they were both great! I’ve tried all different types of massage over the past 10 years. This is the first time that I have tried Thai massage. I’ve been impressed and I will definitely be back!

I’ve been getting a Thai massage from Paul for over two years. He is incredibly aware of musculature and he finds all the areas that need work. I feel taller and healthier after every massage. He is truly an artist who can work magic with sore muscles, achy arms, tense necks, and stressed-​out backs, and he enjoys a challenge! He also is able to adjust his pressure to fit each person, and he does a thorough job, so, even if you are in the «faint of heart» category, he will give you the best massage ever. I highly recommend him to everyone.

Paul is a master at Thai Massage. His technique is very patient and effective. The pressure he use is spot on because he is in tune with the client’s body, whether it be male or female. My wife and I love deep Thai massages and he gets the job done every time. We are big fans of his massage, and we highly encourage anyone and everyone to try him out. You will not be disappointed.
BTW, he is a genuinely cool person as well =)

I’ve been seeing Dr Anthony at this location for routine Chiropractic tune-​ups, and Paul happened to be in the lobby yesterday when I was there. I’d been meaning to try Thai massage, and Anthony had been talking about how great Paul is, so I set something up for today.
I had never had a Thai massage before, but Paul was very patient in helping me get ready and setting me up. He was very polite and respectful, easy to deal with.
What I didn’t tell Paul is that in addition to being a frequent half-​marathon runner and a generally health-​conscious person, I’m also trained in a variety of massage modalities, and consequently I have been on the receiving end of a LOT of massage work from people of all skill levels. I say this not to boast, but rather to clarify that I can usually tell within just a few seconds whether the therapist is going to give me a good massage or a great massage. (There are a lot of little things that go into making a massage great, like having a detailed understanding of anatomy and operating with excellent body mechanics as a practitioner… I don’t like to tell practitioners of my background initially, because I don’t want to prejudice them or freak them out– massage therapists often make *terrible* clients.)
Paul gave me a *great* massage. I could tell his body mechanics were excellent, his knowledge of anatomy was thorough, and he had an excellent intuition about how much pressure to use. His pacing was perfect: he doesn’t rush; rather, he takes a muscle into a stretch gently and holds it there.
On the one occasion the pressure got to be a tiny bit much on my sore calves, he responded immediately and perfectly to that feedback from me. (Pro tip to clients: your body worker needs to hear it from you if something isn’t right. Please speak up. If you don’t say anything, you don’t give them the opportunity to tune their work to your needs.)
I walked out after my massage feeling much lighter and looser. I couldn’t be happier. And Paul is an excellent value for the price. (He really should be charging more for how good he is!)
One tip: if you’re parking in the lot next to the building, add a little extra time to the meter, just in case you run a little over time, and to allow yourself time to change, etc. Fortunately, I got to my car before the meter readers did, so no harm done, but next time I’ll put in a little extra time so I can stay relaxed and not worry about rushing out to the meter at the end :-D
Note that Thai massage is a little different from your traditional Swedish or Deep Tissue massage. Paul has a specialized garment for you to wear, and he does his work right through the cloth. (This is especially good if you’re a modest person and might otherwise hesitate to get body work). Instead of long flowing strokes or deep, sliding strokes, the work is more like slow compression and deep kneading and rolling. So set your expectations accordingly. It’s very effective and wonderful work, just different. As I said above, I was a Thai massage virgin until today, but I have to say I like it!
I can’t recommend Paul enough. Go and see him!

If you like deep massages that really work every crevice and knot in your body (although this can be painful!) then a Thai Massage with Paul is for you. I’ve been to several different Thai massage places in the area, and Paul has been far superior to all the other therapists I’ve experienced. He is really masterful at finding the tight spots you didn’t even know existed. I have incredibly tight muscles around my neck and he has been the only person to actually bring relief to the area.
Lately I’ve been pregnant and unable to get the same hardcore massages, but Paul has adjusted his routine to accomodate my growing belly and always does his best to relieve all the tension I have in a gentler fashion. He made sure to research all the areas he could and couldn’t apply pressure and has been taking care of me through each trimester. Can’t wait till I can get the ‘real’ massages again though.
Not only is he really skilled at giving massages but his prices are reasonable and he is just all around a really great guy.

Paul is incredibly knowledgeable and a true expert in his field.
I am an avid Crossfitter and runner and therefore naturally struggle with a lot of muscular fatigue and tightness. I went to Paul when I developed a pretty severe case of sciatica (basically a painful nerve condition in which I was unable to walk without excruciating hip, lower back, and glute pain). After just a single session with Paul the pain diminished substantially in my hip and glute and completely went away in my lower back. I still have work to be done on my hamstrings in particular and there isn’t another person I would trust more to work on them than Paul.
I really can’t say enough about Paul. He’s professional, intelligent, courteous, and an all around fantastic guy! Do yourself a favor and make an appointment with him as soon as possible.

Paul is just amazing — I really dont have a negative thing to say about him personally and as a massage therapist. He is very open and responsive. He really wants to help you with your issue. He goes out of his way to look things up when he wants to find additional ways to treat your condition. I thought he was going to move back to Thailand and I was truly devastated. I kept telling everyone– I am never going to find another Paul! Thankfully he is here in San Mateo and is staying for a long time!

Paul is a miracle worker. I have been going to Paul for over two years and he has helped me with neck, back and leg problems. I have a standing appointment every week and it has helped keep this 70 year old body in dancing form. I have recommended many friends and they have all become regular patrons.

I just came back from a vacation in Thailand and had Thai massages every other day (yes, I am a massage enthusiast!) and although cheap and therapeutic, I kept thinking «Paul is better!»
As soon as I came back, I reached out to Paul to schedule a massage with him in his new location in San Mateo. If you’re looking for a relaxation type of massage, Thai massage is not for you. But if you’re truly looking to get therapeutic benefits from massage, Paul is the man to go to. He focuses on the areas you need extra help on (for me, neck and shoulders) and keeps working on it until it feels better. In fact, he asks me «are you still feeling pain? do you feel balanced?» etc.
Anyway, I can’t say enough about Paul — he’s really great and I highly recommend him.

Ive been going to Paul for over 2 years. And this review Is long over due. I followed Paul from a previous location. To Natcha Thai massage Paul has help me get my back health back on point.
