Jenny is the quintessential «soccer mom» (constantly shifting from homework, sports, music, & other activities) and is dedicated to helping parents and students find the private instruction they need.

I was searching for a clarinet teacher. I had found one elsewhere, paid for the first lesson which was so bad it hurt. I found one on NextGuru and we did the checkride. He was exactly what I needed; someone who understood that I was learning the clarinet for fun, that I am over 70 and that I didn’t need to be treated like a 12-​year old.
It helped that the tutor was very competent and knowledgeable. This has worked perfectly.

I needed a math tutor to help me pass the professional exam to become a teacher. I signed up for nextguru and got offers from several very qualified tutors. My tutor turned out to be a research scientist at a very well known pharmaceuticals company. Long story short, NextGuru put me in touch with an incredibly qualified tutor who was flexible with time and location and charged a very reasonable rate. If I were in need of a tutor again, I would turn to NextGuru immediately. It was much less hassle than dealing with craigslist and everything was completely spelled out and agreed upon before even meeting the tutor.

I’m a tutor and a fan of nextguru. I’ve come into contact with a lot of students and it’s all because of nextguru. I love tutoring and sharing what I know with others. The nextguru is the real deal. They give you students. All you need to do is have the students sign up for the free trial class that cost $ 20. All session afterwards ALL YOURS. NO COMMISION NO BULLZ NO NOTHING FUNNY. The student is yours. But if they don’t match your tutoring techniques or styles, they can always change tutors back at nextguru.
I don’t know how or when I found out about nextguru but I’m glad I did. Because when they give me one student. Other students come to me from word of mouth.

I really like working with NextGuru. Through the website, I gained three students, two of whom I stayed with for over a year, and one of whose family I ended up pet sitting for :) It is a really effective way for tutors and students to get together!

I made a profile on Nextguru about a year and a half ago. Since then I’ve met up with 3 students; one of them only did the trial session, but 2 of them remained my students for a few months, and it has been a good experience.
I think the way the website works, only earning $ 20 for the trial class with no commission afterwards, is a pretty neat system. My only complaint is that I wish there were more job postings; local jobs that fit me only come up once or twice a month (I’m in Boston). There are plenty of «remote» jobs, but I haven’t tried those yet. Then again, it’s free to sign up, so I’m not losing anything either. If you are a tutor looking for students, I highly recommend this site, you have nothing to lose in making a profile. Hopefully they get more publicity in the future which will create more job postings.

I have been working for Next Guru as a tutor for more than 2 years now, and it has been nothing but a good experience. The way their system works is awesome for both the tutor and the student. The student gets to take a test drive with their tutor for just $ 20 and then the tutor gets to charge their fees after the «trial session.» Only until the initial meeting do you have to use the website to deal with each other. After that its a very personal experience. I highly recommend Next Guru whether you are a tutor or a student looking for a tutor.
