Scribble Me Happy

My daughter LOVES these camps. She is so sad that she is almost aging out. She has done many weeks of Scribble Me Happy camps over the past couple of years and has so much fun making all the cool projects. The Staff is amazing! We also had her birthday party here and that was a big success, too. She had a great time at the teen/​tween camp this summer, too.

We love Scribble Me Happy! It’s such a cute store. They sell a variety of items made by local artists: cards, earrings, hair accessories, puzzles, key chains, prints, etc. They also have open studio where kids can come in and do an art project for about 1.5 hours (cost is $ 18 and you have to RSVP in advance). The employees are all wonderful. I’ve been in here a few times to shop and once for open studio and every time the employees have been so kind and helpful. They are great with kids (they even have camp). We are looking into possibly hosting our daughter’s birthday party here in the future (they also do bridal and baby showers). We are lucky to have Scribble Me Happy in Downtown San Mateo — what a gem!

Came here for first Fridays and did a meet and greet with a local artist! It was fun and a cool experience! Nice to know they do a little bit of everything!

I love how this place is different from others, teaches the kids art and crafts, very nice and clean place and also affordable. The staff is awesome as well. My daughter enjoys it here

This place is fantastic! Wish they offered more evening classes for kids and a parent-​child seeing class. More kids nights out too please! Can you tell we love this place?

I’ve worked in the area for years but only had a chance to stop in recently to attend a kids birthday party. What a find! Such a cute store. Very clean, open, and bright.
The birthday party was well set-​up. The kids did a painting project of animals in the open wilderness. Blue sky, green grass, trees, 2 suns (oh wait, the 2 suns was my daughter’s painting. Ha!), and animal stickies. The teachers were great, offering basic guidelines so that the kids could do it themselves.
Weekends fill up quickly for parties. I like that you can also have adult parties (e.g., bridal showers, baby showers, etc.). Other events also happen during the week. Membership is available, which I think would be neat if we lived closer. I did see a note online that Open Studio time is by reservation only, so I’d call ahead to make sure you’re able to paint when you want to paint!
In the front of the store are works from local artists available for sale, some really cool stuff. Would definitely recommend and come back again!

The cutest store with the cutest art! Definitely worth walking in just to see! They house art from a both of local artists and the workers (owners?) are really sweet women. They have crafting classes of some sort as well, but I didn’t show up for that, so I don’t know the details.

What a cute store and great idea. I love that they support local artists. These ladies are super passionate about having fun with art! They have wonderful classes, camps and parties for kids (of pretty much all ages even the «older ones»… :)
The ambiance is fun and creative. There is a lot of parking nearby and I loved the energy there. Definitely a great place :)

I had my twins 4^th bday here. My twins wanted two different themes but Stacy and Brenda did not even flinch and came up with a project combining the two. All the kids had a fabulous time and had each had an amazing painting to take home at the end. I would definitely recommend them!

Stacy and her team are awesome! I am in a wedding this fall, and we did our bachelorette party at Scribble Me Happy! I was a little nervous about the fact that it was generally used as a kid’s studio, but it was honestly, one of my favorite things ever! We brought in our own beverages and snacks, and Stacy had a table and decorations all set up for us, complete with a cute banner, specifically for our party! The table was raised to an adult height, and it just felt like we were in our own art studio class.
She and the other lady helping teach the class were fun, and friendly, and very on top of everything! The whole place was organized, and the event was smoothly run. They offered so much encouragement to everyone in our party as we painted our fun canvases!
I would happily go back and do another event at Scribble Me Happy
She also sells awesome things in the front of her shop, made by local artists — it’s dangerous, because I want to buy everything!

Brenda is amazing and the store is extremely cute. Great attention to detail. I will definitely be back!

I have taken my 4 ½ year-​old son here for open studio on three occasions. It may seem like paying $ 15-​$ 18 for an hour of kid’s art is steep, but the value is really there. The ladies of Scribble Me Happy take art projects that may seem ambitious for younger kids and break them down in a way that engages your child for the whole hour. The class sizes are small and each kid gets a lot of individual attention. The finished product is a beautiful piece of art worth hanging on to for years to come or perfect for a special gift for a grandparent or friend. My son is always so proud of what he makes and goes on and on about how much fun he has a Scribble Me Happy!

I have nothing but great things to say about this place and the owners. They’re so kind and they’ve made a beautiful space. It’s a great time for kids and adults alike

This store is super cute!
I stopped by to pick up a birthday card. Cards range from $ 4 – 5. Prints start at $ 20 and they have a variety of locally made art and crafts. They also offer art classes for kids! If I am in the area I will definitely stop by again.

I like coming into this shop/​studio to see the art for sale. They have some fun and cool prints for sale, so if you’re looking for a unique gift for a friend that appreciates creative works, this is a good place to stop.
Only challenge is – it’s very frequently closed for private parties. Great for them — I want to see their business thrive! — but a bit hard for those who are there to browse and purchase.
If they’re open, do stop in.

I wanted to throw my daughter a birthday party at Scribble Me Happy but the time and date I was looking for was already booked. I spoke with Brenda and Stacy (owners) and made reservations for the one-​hour open studio instead. They were very helpful over the phone to plan my needs.
On the day of the open studio, me and the 9 girls (ages 3 – 10) were greeted by a young gal (sorry, I forgot her name) who helped the girls with paints, glue, gems, etc. She even put on some of her own music to entertain the girls while they did their art. The girls all had a great time!
Stacy and Brenda are also honest business owners. When I returned the week after to pick up the girl’s artwork (even though it was ready the day after), Brenda said they accidentally overcharged me that night. She refunded back that difference to me. That really showed me that Scribble Me Happy is there for the customers. It’s a great place. I will have to go back there and do my own artwork next time. They even have adult nights :)

I really like this place. And the ladies that work there are really warm and inviting.
It’s a great place for kids (and adults) of all ages.
They really take the time to engage with your child and help them along with art projects. Both of my kids have enjoyed their art experiences… and we have the artwork on our wall to prove it!
You can book birthday parties there or an evening with the ladies. I look forward to gathering a few friends and having the place to ourselves for a creative evening (kid free :)

I love this place, as do both of my kids! They are so welcoming both to toddlers and older kids… my daughter had an absolute blast at summer art camp and couldn’t stop talking about it. They are great at encouraging kids’ creativity and outsourcing the mess from home.
I love how they engage my 2 year old as well with projects that are developmentally appropriate when I bring him, and the owners are always so patient and encouraging to both of my kids. Just a fabulous place to spend some studio time or come for camp, and the front of the store has very cute San Francisco art and cards as well.

Just happened drop in during the grand opening on Saturday and looked around. The front of the store is filled with pictures, crafts, and t shirts all supplies by local artists. There were even some crocheted animals and some adorable shapes crayons in the front.
I met one of the owners (Brenda) and she described some of classes. They are going to have photoshops an adobe for kids. One of the other cool things she told me was that they were going to do a parents date night. Where parents can drop their kids off for the evening (one day a week) so they could go watch a movie or get dinner. The third friday if every month. I would definitely recommend this to my cowoekers

This place is SO adorable. I can’t wait until my nephew is old enough so I can take him to a class/​party here.
My boyfriend remembers growing up and visiting an art studio like this, but he told me «it never looked as nice as Scribble Me Happy.» The design and layout of the studio is great. It is clean and cute.
The projects and parties are customized to fit the taste of the customers. It really seems like a fun place for kids or adults.
I also love love love the adorable products at the front of the shop. It’s great that all of the items for sale are made by talented local artists.
