I used Randy, owner of the Bean Counter, to straighten out my books for a business I owned. Randy was thorough and accommodating. He was able to get everything set quickly and really helped us to stay on track. I highly recommend reaching out to Randy if you are in need of a bookkeeper to clean up your books or with ongoing help.

They Bean Counter is great. Randy was able to take my W-2’s from 2 states and all my deductions and turn it around in a few days. Randy was very responsive on all my questions and felt the personal service. They were extremely reasonable in the price and will definitely use them again next year.

As a new small business owner, I was hoping to get a quick tutorial on getting started on Quickbooks. I found Randy on Unilocal,and set up a meeting. I don’t have an accounting background… nevertheless, in about an hour, Randy was able to explain the basics to me and had me reconciling away! I also really appreciate how responsive he is to email questions/​communication, if I do happen to have a question. If we ever have any other accounting/​tax questions, we know we’ve found our accountant!

I usually do my own taxes on H&R block, but I felt like I may not have done them correctly last year. So, when I moved to California, I decided I should probably find a CPA to do my taxes.
The last 2 years I’ve been doing travel nursing; so, my taxes seemed a bit more complicated than the previous years since I worked in a few different states last year.

I’ve always done my own taxes using Turbotax with the exception of a couple of years where I used a CPA office in Los Gatos and another time, my mom’s CPA.
Last August I bought my first small business so I knew I would need to hire someone who knew how to handle my taxes. Not only did I now own the business but I had both W-​2 income and 1099 income from last year and had not paid my quarterly estimated taxes. My fiancé also gets paid as an employee by my small business as a 1099 so we needed to figure all of this out and how to best deal with the tax situation.
Randy was able to tell me what information I needed to start gathering. I had not been saving and organizing my info very well so felt overwhelmed before I spoke to him. Once he was able to guide me in what info to get together and helped me think about what other info I could look for that would help me, I started feeling much better about how taxes would go this year! Randy is very knowledgeable about the finance world, taxes and the IRS guidelines so he can help you make sure you are including all the deductions you are able to use and also advise on what you should not try to deduct.
He was able to handle the taxes for myself personally, my LLC business, and my fiancé’s personal taxes. Now we know what we need to track throughout the year and what to expect next tax season.
I feel like I can go to Randy if I have questions throughout the year. He is a CPA with focus on doing taxes for people and businesses, but he can also help answer questions and guide you in how to run businesses better, which I appreciated very much.

I came here to get my personal tax returns done. I have been shopping around for an accountant/​bookeeper for the past few months who could help me with my new small business. Randy has been absolutely amazing. They payroll that my work goes through charged me the wrong amount in state taxes and Randy was able to catch that mistake. If I went somewhere else, they would have never been able to catch that. He has really educated me on taxes and ways to save in the future.
