The Face & Body Studio

I’ve been coming to Bridgette for years and have always enjoyed her facials. She does a really good job and is always so consistent with her work — never cutting corners. I’m really impressed.

Bridgette seems knowledgeable about various skin conditions. I was needing thorough extractions, but she only spent about 5 minutes at best. This is the main reason why I came in. Her extractions don’t leave a mark, but she hardly did any. It was a relaxing visit and the facial massage was nice.

I’ve been going to Bridgette for two years for permanent makeup. She did my brows, top eyelids and lips. Touch ups, too. All done so well it looks natural and I barely need anytime to get ready in the morning.
She always makes me feel comfortable before, during and after the procedures. She details what to expect (i.e. My brows got really dark then settled to my natural hair color and my lips got really puffy but settled to a better than natural tone). Ointment, ice, and lip product was given to speed recovery.
My permanent makeup looks so natural and I’m so, so happy with all three services.
She’s s lovely person and am excited to try her other services.

I got a Groupon for permanent make up/​eye brows. I had never done anything like it and was totally nervous. She reassured me. She was so very nice and promised I’d love them. I showed her what I wanted, and she proceeded to do her work. When it was done I was terrified. I knew immediately I had made an awful mistake. She continued to tell me I would love them — it’s not the finished product– give it time. When I went home my 3 year old starting crying immediately. I was so upset. I tried to stay patient and not freak out. They were super uneven, WAY thicker then I wanted, and it completely changed my face! I talked to her on several occasions and she was so nice. I really do like her, but the job itself was AWFUL. She said for $ 150 she can touch them up and then I would like them. I was too afraid after the first time. After they healed one was light and one was dark. I hated looking in the mirror. I was pregnant at the time. No other places would even touch them because I was pregnant. She told me it was safe. so that made me feel strange. I have since found a new place that fixed them and I LOVE IT. Please be careful… this is your face. I caused myself a lot of added stress by going here.

Let me say up front — I’m a 6’2″ 237lb man — and even BIG men enjoy a quality manicure and pedicure and facial on occasion. And that is exactly what I enjoyed when a good friend of mine suggested I go see beautiful Brigitte. She is a master of her craft and a sweetheart of a lady. Take it from me – go see Brigitte — you’ll be VERY pleased you did.

I recently came to the Skin and Body Studio to see Bridgitte for eyeliner tattoo on the top and the bottom. Although I have a full sleeve and several other tattoos on my body, I was nervous about getting my eyeliner tattooed. Bridgitte was very friendly and very knowledgeable. She informed me of everything that I needed to know and it definitely calmed my nerves. :) Since I am very experienced with getting tattoos and the healing process, I understood that the color may or may not stay on the first session.
After the first appointment I went back in to get the liner a bit darker and thicker. The color stayed well the first time so it’s all personal preference that I wanted it to be a bit more noticeable.
Bridgitte is awesome! I would def recommend her and I plan on going to her for other services as well!

I just redeemed my Living Social certificate at FBS and Brigitte did the most amazing job on my permanent eyebrow makeup. Her studio is immaculate, and she is lovely to work with. I am so pleased with my eyebrows I will probably do the permanent eyeliner as well.

Oh snap, what have I found? Brigitte is absolutely amazing! A girlfriend of mine wanted me to come with her for a couple microdermabrasion treatments — she wanted to show off how awesome Brigitte is and was so excited about it that she even offered to pay for me. Whoa! I was reluctant at first because I kind of have an aesthetician already, but hey why not? We booked appointments and headed over together last week.
Brigitte’s studio is located inside a neat little complex of different beauty practitioners’ spaces. She has her own little nook toward the back with a small waiting area in front. She’s polite, sweet, and very pleasant. Her studio is a little cramped, but she makes great use of the space and the treatment bed is very comfortable. The microderm treatment was awesome and didn’t hurt a bit. Once that was over, Brigitte took another thorough look at my skin as I lamented and whined over the congestion in my chin and the scattering of pesky milia that my other aesthetician has been unable to do anything about despite multiple peels. No problem… Brigitte is an extraction sorceress and within minutes, I was milia-​no-​more.
After the treatment (which also included exfoliation scrubs, cleansing, and a collagen mask), my face felt SO FREAKING SOFT AND HAPPY. It was amazing. Brigitte recommended a couple of products to me which are a wee tad expensive but I was more than happy to buy after the results I already saw. She knows her stuff that’s for sure.
I’ve been following her recommendations since my visit last week and can already see the difference in my skin. It’s so much happier now. I have been converted by my friend and now I think we are going to have to make our trips to Brigitte a regular thing.

I’ve taken my 13 year old son and my 17 year old daughter several times to Brigitte for an acne facial and she is terrific! She is an excellent esthetician (highly skilled in extractions which is a talent!) and extremely knowledgeable. Brigitte listens to her clients concerns and responds accordingly. The studio is cozy, clean and well appointed. I find The Face and Body Studio pricing to be very reasonable. I would highly recommend Brigitte to my friends and we will definitely be returning soon.

I have been having my eyebrows done by Brigitte now for about 20 years. When I first went to her I was experiencing the «fallen eyebrow» effect of aging. My eyebrows were basically straight across my eye and making me look like I had sunken eyelids. After one visit with Brigtte she changed that completely. First she waxed the part of my brow that was cutting straight across and then tattooed on a beautiful brow with a gorgeous arch. It completely opened up my eye and made me look a lot younger. It was like an eyelift without surgery! Now I will not let anyone but Brigitte touch my brows. And I get compliments on them all the time. If you have not gotten your eyebrows tattooed before but have been thinking about it, go see Brigitte. She will make you look amazing.

I recently went to brigitte at the face and body studio because I bought a living social deal and seen great reviews. I have to say, I am very happy with my pemanent make up (eyebrows) that I had done. She did an amazing job, was very upfront about cost and the necessary touching up that would need to be done, which I just had done today. Her amazing work and products are worth every penny. Her place is very clean and she is very professional and used, not one type of numbing, but two, it was pain free! I definitely recommend the face and body studio, especially if you want flawless permanent make up done by a person who takes pride in what she does and really loves her job.

I received a gift certificate to see her and am so happy.
Not only an excellent facial, her «cream 11» (for my Rosacea) that she recommended, has been a face saver.
Brigitte is a great communicator and she really, really knows skin.

My mom has been going to Brigitte for many, many years and started buying me facials there about 8 years ago. While I was living out of the area I tried at least 4 other places for facials and NONE of them were anywhere near the quality of Brigitte’s. Her facials are relaxing, restorative, moisturizing and she is one of the few places that does extractions (which is amazing if you have any blackheads or pimples that need to be taken care of). Her facials are worth the price — I’ve permanently sworn off half-​price Groupon facials because they just don’t measure up to Brigitte.

To all coupon customer. Be sure she does the work in one visit. She charges $ 150 for any touch up work. I am not satisfied with her work! L Lee

so after putting on my make up this morning i had to write this review because i was so pleased :) i have been seeing Bridgette now for almost 6 months, she has been helping with my ‘used to be amazing’ skin which recently decided to act up! after facials, products and instructions on home care, today after putting on my custom blend makeup (of course from Bridgette, AMAZING! my clients love it too) i have to say my face is back to almost flawless. thank you Bridgette!

I’ve been going to Bridgette & her staff since 2006. I’m no cosmetics-​queen, but I’m practical about caring for my assets –skin, body, brain & budget.
I do facials every other month; waxes every other week; and gift Brigette’s treatments to friends & family.
My break-​through at FABS has been the effectiveness of the products: Ageless Beauty exfoliant has gotten me so many compliments. It’s changed the texture of my skin. The under-​eye peptide does wonders on mornings that follow less than rested nights (thank you :/​to my kids). Brigette’s brow shaping is subtle & gentle.
Since I DON’T wear make-​up, getting my skin care right & keeping my skin’s health optimal is crucial. I’ve been to other places, but once I found Bridgette– I was thrilled that I could finally stop looking.

I have been coming to the Face & Body studio for well over 10 years now… following Brigitte around and couldn’t be happier for her to have her own spa home in downtown San Mateo! I have had facials, waxing and massages done and can honestly recommend them all! The products are gentle on the skin, especially the wax. I normally would get a rash from other places who use cheap wax… there is no cutting corners here; you get what you pay for and it’s worth every penny!
Attention to detail and personal touch makes one feel at home here.
Always friendly and greeted with a smile by the staff; if I arrive early and there is time I will be taken in early otherwise I’m always taken in right on time. I recommend this place over and over again… telling people you can’t go wrong by going to the Face and Body Studio!

The prices and hours aren’t bad. I’ve only been here for waxing and they aren’t the best. Plus it seemed to be much, much, much slower than my favorite place.
Although my favorite place thinks waxing is not pleasurable so they are super fast about it. (and they are right).

I really like this place. I moved to San Mateo from SF last July, and I saw it while exploring downtown San Mateo one day as I was in need of a brow/​lash tint desperately. I have been going there ever since. The lady who owns it, Brigitte, has been a skin care professional for a very long time, and it shows. The other girls that work there are very good too. Everyone is nice. They do a lot of skin treatments, tattooing (eyeliner, lips, brows) massage, among a myriad of other spa treatments. They have a masseuse there who is very tiny, but STRONG. I went there for a deep tissue massage and felt like a billion dollars afterwards, it was so good.
Give this place a try if you haven’t already. Very calming atmosphere. They do sell their products, and they will not let you leave with the wrong thing for your skin. I guarantee that. I was wondering what was wrong with my skin for a long time, and was using very expensive products that were all wrong for me. Brigitte took one look at me and said I had rosacea, and needed oil free products. She was right, and I switched over and my skin looks great. She knows what she is talking about–
Come here ladies– you will not regret it!
