Established in 2008.

The Studio Shop Annex is an offshoot of our popular Burlingame location established in 1915. The Martin/​Benson families have owned the business since 1955. The owners are joined by the entire staff in their commitment to continue the tradition of quality and personal service.

I have had all of my recent paintings and photographs framed here. I work with Katie, and she is patient and knows just which frame and mat will work best with each piece. She will try to find pieces of remnant frames from other jobs to save in cost. Their work is top rate and I can’t recommend them more highly.

For years now I’ve been sending Katie/​The Studio Shop Annex pieces from my personal collection, as well as items to be displayed in my employer’s office. We’ve worked together to frame at least 15 pieces and she’s been great every time!
From small certificates, to large scale posters, and fine art prints, the work is always impeccable – high quality, cleanly fitted, and tasteful. Once I’ve consulted Katie on how to handle a piece, I never have to worry about how it’s going to turn out, which is really reassuring given the cost of quality framing. I just recently dropped off some cast wax sculpture to be shadow-​boxed; I can’t wait to see the finished product!

I hate the type of person I was today. I arrived right after TSSA closed and I knew it. Excuses aside, I really needed some matte board for a print that will be in a show way sooner than later and was unable to find it in my local San Francisco. After a referral, I made the drive over and was greeted with a smile and awesome service. I feel bad for not catching the girl’s name, but she had glasses and was extremely helpful. Summarizing, she showed me a ton of different boards, helped explain what they were all about, and guided me towards what I needed. Awesome interaction and awesome shop.
I will definitely be back.

haven’t gotten my framed art back yet but can say that Gary and Janet handled my intake with the utmost patience, knowledge/​expertise, professionalism and good naturedness. Very pleasant and satisfactory experience thus far. Also, price wasn’t as high as I thought it’d be, so I was pleased in that respect too.

It is always such a pleasure to do business with people who take pride in their work. This is the case with The Studio Shop Annex. This shop is the little sister to the venerable Studio Shop in Burlingame so prices are more moderate but the quality of the framing materials is excellent and the staff are very experienced and professional. I’ve had several pieces framed here and while my art is nothing special, with the right framing the pieces really pop. The staff really understands the fine points of choosing the right frame and mat with the correct proportions. They also carry a fun collection of home décor items. This is a great place! Love it!

I am late leaving a review. They framed a poster sized photo of mine over a year ago and did a great job. Not cheep but very good work. I do believe you get what you pay for so I would use them again if I have the chance. I am very happy with my framed art.

Mr. L and I got married almost 10 years ago and our wedding pictures and ketubah languished in a box unframed. I wanted to take them somewhere I could trust, but I knew it would be an expensive endeavor. When I saw a Groupon for Studio Shop Annex and read that it was a highly rated framing shop, I seized the opportunity to get our photos and marriage contract professionally framed.
Not only did they not disappoint, but they exceeded our expectations. Plus, they couldn’t have been nicer or more professional.
This is not a bargain framing store. This is a full-​service place where they will frame art beautifully. And if you’re on a budget, they have some gorgeous high quality premade frames that cost less and might just fit the size and look of your art.

I finally found my Vegas painting after a 5-​year search so I wanted to get the perfect frame. I found this place through a Groupon deal and brought my prized painting there. The girl who helped me was super nice and very helpful in her suggestions. I decided to step away from traditional frames and went with a bright red one, which the girl promised would bring out the vibrant red colors in the painting.
My only gripe was that it took almost 3 weeks for my painting to be completed, when I was told it would be 1 – 2 weeks. However, once I set my sight on my beloved Vegas painting, I was in love! I included the pictures of it here. It’s just so exquisite and my bf and I love how the painting has brightened up our apartment.
This place is not cheap but you get what you pay for. First-​class quality.

This is THEE place for framing in the area. I have had several pieces done here and they do an excellent job. Katie is creative and very knowledgeable.

I had a complicated mat I needed to get cut for a Christmas present and Katie here at the Studio Shop was awesome. She was super patient and helpful and let me look over her shoulder as she got the placement of the many, many cuts exactly how I wanted — even with my super short notice right before the holidays! I will be back next time I need custom framing or mat cutting done.
