Description

Specialties

Throughout the World, Food is the great unifier. At THREE we are doing our part to keep our guests — tasting, experiencing, and celebrating through food. We have always felt that the friendliest and most communal area in a restaurant is the bar. We’re taking that atmosphere to the entire restaurant. Share some appetizers, share some laughs. Meet up with old friends, and make some new ones. Let the food be enjoyed and the drinks and stories flow. THREE’s team holds a deep appreciation for the integrity of ingredients. Creating a menu from scratch, that is authentic, seasonal and at all times respectful of resources are at its core.

The THREE menu features Regional California Comfort. It is designed to give you a broader experience and enjoy a range of flavors in one visit. We use the freshest seasonal local ingredients, including vegetables from our own hydroponic garden.

Our selection of craft beers, whiskies and wines is simply the best. THREE’s Craft Booze Menu is a labor of love; all natural all hand crafted.

We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.

Parking is available on the street as well as two city lots ½ block from the restaurant. The Downtown CALTRAIN station is 4 blocks away.

History

Established in 2013.

San Mateo natives and friends, Eleni Lolas and Alicia Petrakis, opened Astaria Catering in 1995. With eight successful years as caterers, their passion for people, food, and entertaining grew into Astaria Restaurant and Bar. After 10 successful years, they have redesigned the interior and the menu and reopened as THREE Restaurant & Bar.

The idea of THREE began long before her name was chosen. Many hours of the last year and a half at Astaria were spent forming the foundation of THREE. Days and nights of long conversations shared between the friends that make up our dedicated team.

Like us, THREE is casual, kindhearted, spirited, passionate and fun.

It’s about sharing delicious food and great times. We look forward to welcoming you to THREE.

Alicia P.

Business Owner

We are deeply passionate about the food we serve and the level of service we provide to all of our guests at THREE. As an owner, there is nothing more satisfying than seeing guests enjoying their experience at THREE. Our dining room has opened up to accommodate larger groups. We love seeing guests «passing the plate» together. Although we designed the menu to be easily shared, it is also possible to have a very traditional dinning experience at THREE. It is our passion for food and people that pushed us to create this approach. We appreciate the ethnic diversity that the Bay Area has to offer and have woven the flavors of this melting pot into our menu.
