You know I’ve spent way too many hours looking for the best gas price. Then going out of my way to get there every time I needed gas. Well, it took a long time but I figured out my time was valuable. This Shell is right on the on ramp/intersection of 80 on my way to work. It takes 5 minutes to fill the bike and be on the freeway. That alone is is a great reason not to look for cheaper gas. The kicker is that while running Valero gas then filling up with the Shell gas and getting on the freeway I could feel the shell gas reaching the engine a sudden increase in power and even a noticeably smoother running engine. because a Valero is on my way home I used to stop there occasionally but after three identical experiences I only stop at this Shell now. For the record Costco gas seems to have the same effect as the Shell and is much less expensive but completely out of the way for me and the lines can be crazy. This Shell station is only fairly clean, they have a car wash which I haven’t used and I haven’t set foot inside the store. Having said that The gas is high quality and the location is convenient so 4 stars to you El Portal Shell!

Not the cheapest shell gas station in the area and not the most expensive gas station in the area. I come here when I dont mind spending the few extra cents because its right next to the freeway entrance. But sometimes its cheaper than the ones i’ve came across so its a go to typa gas station.

No credit card reader at my gas pump. Just a gaping hole where it used to be. I went inside to pay and the gas attendant said the card reader was stolen. :/ Also, an older gentleman in the parking lot was staring me down as I was pumping my gas. I couldn’t tell if he was giving off a lecherous or shady vibe but either way, I was not comfortable. Hooray for weird adventures in gas stations. Nice guy working there, though!

Not much to say about this gas station. I simply stop, pump, and leave. It does have a car wash that you can take advantage of(so I added a star), and it is located near the freeway. So if you fill up, you can be on the road in no time. On occasion, there are«homeless» people«volunteering» to pump your gas or to clean your windshield. They may look kind of scary, but for the most part, completely harmless. Give them some change or a dollar and they will thank you, and go to the next person/car. On a final note, there is a snack shop, but I never go in there since I pay with a credit card at the pump. I do think that it should be MANDATORY that the staff are non-smokers or not allowed to smoke while working. I have seen them puffing outside, and I’m pretty sure GASOLINEISSTILLFLAMMABLE, the last time I checked!
