Totally bummed about this place. It’s been one of those places I’ve passed a million times and never thought to go in. I had actually stopped for Pronto’s next door but they were closed so I thought I’d give El Frijolito a try. The beans and rice that came with the juevos ranchero’s he served me were obviously left over from the day before. Yech! They juevo’s ranchero’s were bland, flavorless. The produce was not fresh. I was really hoping this place would rock but that just was not the case. Steer clear.

These are my new daytime taco jams. Located next to a slightly run down carwash, this tiny stand serves up some mean ass tacos. Served traditional style w/meat, onions, cilantro, and red sauce on small, warm, corn tortillas, the carne asada and al pastor have the charred, chewy, and tender bits that I love. The red sauce could be spicier, but it compliments the other ingredients well. Not going to complain. Since they’ve been under new management, the tacos have noticeably improved. I haven’t eaten anything else on the menu, but my friend couldn’t say enough good things about her lengua burrito.
