I want to give them a low rating for the ONE reason that they only take cash and don’t have an ATM on premises… but I love this place so much I have to give it 4 stars. Run by a cute little Asian couple that are always happy and smiling, this place is easy to like. Small selection crammed into a tiny space, but it’s great as far as mom-and-pop stores go. Grab some chips, some cold beer [the stuff you’d find in a gas station or 711 — bud light, 40’s of Old E, and the off 6pack of kirin or negro modelo] or a candy bar. They have some random groceries that are slightly overpriced, but what can you expect? There are a bunch of neighborhood markets around here, but this is the only one within walking distance of my place that sells beer… so I make it a regular stop. edit: 4 january 2009: I love this place even more. I went there new years eve to grab a bag of chips pre-drinking debauchery and got the usual friendly smiles and hellos [open on new years eve at 10p… nice]… the next day I walked in to grab a juice and got a halted english«Oh Hello… Haven’t seen you since last year!». She was obviously pleased with herself for the joke. Very cute when english isn’t your native language… Anyways… The owner noticed that I wasn’t getting my usual fistful of sour patch straws and decided to be helpful and threw some free candy into my bag. «Here. try this. might like. OK. Bye. see you!»:waves:smiles: what MORE could you ask from a neighborhood store? Not only do they recognize me … and apparently my shopping patterns, but they throw in free goodies. to me, this equals awesome.
