My dad took my 2012 Land Rover in to have the break pads replaced. I was told at the dealership that the front pads were the only ones that needed to be replaced. When my dad dropped the car off at South Shore Auto Service they recommended replacing all four, so we did.
Immediately after picking up my car I noticed that every time I pressed the breaks they were squeaking, very loud. My husband told me to «calm down» that they were new and that the noise would go away. Well… it didn’t. So one weekend I took the car back and asked them to fix the problem. About 30 min later I got a call and they said that in order to stop the squeaking I now needed to replace the roters (sp?). HOWEVER, since this was not done when they replaced the break pads (because we were not told this needed to be done), I was going to have to pay, again, for new break pads as well. I believe we paid initially $ 800 for the break pads and the roters were going to be another $ 400 – 500!!!
Frustrated, i picked up my car. Now I am driving a beautiful, 2012 Land Rover with with breaks that sound like a school bus. It is embarrassing… I’m pissed, but not sure what I can do.
Should have sucked it up and had the work done at the dealership, instead of trying to save a little money. I guess they are the ones getting the last laugh.

my car is old and needed alot work. after the repaires (tune up and new starter) and servicing my air conditioning it worked like a clock. the cost was ½ of the dealerships cost. my car was ready on time. the owner mike is very knowledgable. I will go back for my oilchage from now on too.

From oil changes to major fixes, we’ve had great service and results at South Shores Auto. Mike tells us options, works until the problem is corrected, and is always professional. We’ve managed to keep our 98auto running past 220,000 miles… and with minimal help from Mike, we hope to reach 300,000!
