My maid of honor found Selma online at the last minute before my wedding, after a friend-​of-​a-​friend who was supposed to do my hair proved unreliable. I am SO glad that Selma was available! She did an amazing job and I was so happy with the way it turned out. Selma really made me feel that I was in capable hands the whole time. My mom and maid of honor also looked great!

The beauty salon’s owner, Selma, has been my hair dresser for the past 16 years. Exactly!!! She’s that amazing! I was living in Marin County when I first made an appointment with her in Corte Madera, where she used to work. Then, I moved to SF and continued going to get my hair done with her. Now, I live in the Peninsula and am still going to San Rafael. It’s worth the drive! Although I’ve tried several hair stylists throughout the years to see if I could switched her but I couldn’t find anybody that did an excellent job on my hair as she always does.
I have sent many friends on her way and they’ve always returned.
Just by looking or touching my hair she knows what I did, what I should do or shouldn’t do to avoid damaging my long hair.
Anyways, I really recommend Selma because she’s not only a terrific professional but also a great person.

Went to Selma for a Brazilian Hair straightening treatment and couldn’t have been happier. Selma gives 5 star service with attention to detail. A diamond in the rough. Will definately be back and tell all my friends.

I dont know what took me so long to write this review. 16 years to be exact.
Im 26 years old, and Selma has been working her magic on my hair since I was about 10. I HAVE NEVER LEFT HER SALON UNSATISFIED. EVER… I have a couple of times cheated on her with other hairstylist, just to run crying back to her and beg her to fix it. Which she does, and I know she wants to kill me, but she doesn’t. she just works her magic and my hair is amazing again. She’s taken me black, brunette, to blonde, to highlights, to ombré, from short, to long, back to short, to clip on extensions, to bangs, to bobs… you guys get it. If you want a hair professional that knows what shes doing. go with Selma. Plus, it doesnt hurt that she’s also an amazing and caring woman. Love you Selma! Thank you for being so patient with my crazy hair choices!

I love Wendy! She tried to talk me into bangs for ages, but I finally relented and boy am I glad. I look 10 years younger. I kid you not, my co-​workers squealed! And the color is perfect, always! Try Wendy, you’ll love her too.

Easy to book an appointment. Selma was very friendly and professional. My hair was exactly what I needed afterwards. Only negative: the facilities are a bit drab. But really, I’m looking forward to my next hair apt!

I can’t tell you how much I loved my experience with Selma, at Anything for You Salon and Day Spa. I am a destination bride who called every salon in San Rafael in search of my day of hairstylist. Selma answered the phone with confidence, stories of experience and had reassured my untrustworthy hesitations within 5 mins.
I arrived at her lovely loft salon, sight unseen 2 days before my wedding. Selma greeted me with open arms and a wide *+smile+* Unbeknownst to me she had broken her femur (Thigh bone!!) nearly 4 weeks prior and would be completing my trial and day of hair, from a bar stool, fresh from surgery recovery! This woman has style, sass, class, and most of all STRENGTH. She was incredible from the first brush of my tangled mess, to the final placement of my custom bridal jewelry headpiece. She even offered her personal makeup brushes to smooth my smokey eye in her finishing touches.
In addition to my bridal trial and day of «up-​do», Selma herself did 3 of my 5 Bridesmaids hair, all of which, loved their final look, it stayed all night, and accentuated their natural hair, styles and face shapes from the first try.
Selma had an assistant who worked with my other 2 bridesmaids and although both of them had a weary first spin in her chair, they both asked for something different and were happy with the end result. One of my girls had very curly red hair and it seemed to feel «overworked» and frizzy the first time around, and the first felt it looked young and «prom like» at first.
Selma, really went above and beyond for myself and my girls, I am so thankful that they are open on Sunday’s and available for my special day.

I just had my first waxing experience here, and it was lovely. It was practically painless.
I will definitely be back.

I just visited this salon for the first time. I followed Wendy here from the last salon she worked at. SHe is really great and I highly recommend her to anyone! SHe really listened to what I wanted, was honest with me and does a fantastic haircut!

The very first time I went to Selma’s salon I was devastated in reason of a bad previous hair cut and highlights. Selma treated my hair with so much love! I was really scared to let anyone to touch my hair after what I went through with the previous hairdresser. Selma is kind, professional, and she makes you feel like you are home! I definitely recommend her to anyone! Just make sure to make an appt. in advance, because she is really busy!

I’ve had a Brazilian Blowout here twice and a color and hair cut once. Selma is an expert! She does an amazing job and her prices are very good! I highly recommend Selma for any of your beauty needs!

I have always loved coming to Sel for all my waxing needs. I went here all through college and made regulars out of all the friends I brought. When it comes to waxing there is no one better than Sel. I would have her give me a Brazilian wax (which she is the best at being from brazil), eyebrow, and underarms. I always love my results as did all my friends. When it comes to your eyebrow she will make them look better than ever. Her prices are the best in the area for waxing and so is she.

I love this salon. Been coming here for years and have recommended it to many friends and family who have also enjoyed it. Selma, the owner, is professional and extremely knowledgeable. I first came to her because it is so darned hard to find someone in Marin to cut curly hair. She does a great job with it. And she can use henna for haircoloring too (though I now have moved to an organic hair coloring that she offers since my hair went too gray for henna!). She also does hair/​nails/​etc for a lot of wedding parties and proms. I haven’t used this service but everyone always seems very pleased. AND they are very affordable! Try them out!

Selma has been doing my hair for over almost a year now. She is great! My hair has never been so long, healthy, and beautiful. She really knows how to work with all different hair types.

I just got my curly hair relaxed by Selma and I could not be happier. I have never had this done before and I was a little worried about the outcome — but now I can’t believe I waited this long! Selma knows what she is doing, is confident in her skills, and makes you feel like you are in such good hands! I usually never return to a stylist and I plan to make her my permanent person. I can’t stop looking at my gorgeous hair!
