Atlas Languages is a document translation company based in the San Francisco Bay Area. We provide high quality translation services and reliable delivery. Our clients are confident they will receive final translations that are accurate, consistent, culturally sensitive and faithful to the original documents. With each project we undertake, we offer high quality work delivered on or before the deadline and prompt response to your calls or e-​mails. Also, with each project we undertake, we strive to provide our clients with the best translation service they have ever experienced.

Atlas translations are completed by native speakers, professional translators with expertise in the subject matter. We also take special care to ensure that the translator’s dialect is exactly appropriate for the country or region where your translations are going to be used.

History

Established in 2008.

The company is owned by Maria D. Perez Vergara, a native of Spain who settled in Marin County twenty seven years ago. Prior experience includes the coordination of translation and interpretation department for a major company in San Jose, California, scheduling interpreters for medical or legal assignments and proofing all incoming translated work submitted in Spanish. Specifically, our translating project experience includes legal documents, student transfers, training material, medical forms, newsletters and miscellaneous correspondence.

Meet the Business Owner

Maria P.

Business Owner

Before establishing the company, Maria worked with lawyers providing assistance to clients with little or no knowledge of the English language. Her initial experience and introduction to the translation business was at Century School of Languages, a company based in San Jose, California, as Assistant Director and Coordinator of the Translation and Interpretation Department. During this tenure, Maria also coordinated the evaluation of the TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language), a test required for non-​native applicants at many English-​speaking colleges and universities. After moving to Marin County, she worked for two major Class Action Settlement Administrators translating, editing and proofreading material in both English and Spanish.

Maria completed two years of training at the University of Granada, Spain, in the Interpretation and Translation Department. She is also a member of the American Translators Association and the Northern California Translators Association.
