Brian Knutson (BK) is an excellent carpenter and did a terrific job modifying a large shelving unit for us. He was prompt, friendly, clean and delivered exactly what he promised, when he promised. In addition, his rate is more than reasonable. I’d recommend BK highly for any home carpentry project.

Brian was hired to build an outdoor trash cute to allow easy disposal of trash and recycling from a second floor balcony on a historic house in Mill Valley. It was first thought that the chute could be built on top of the existing trash enclosure that was there. Brian knows best. He showed why it would not work out and detailed out his recommendation for the correct project. What can I say. He described what he was going to build but his vision was amazing when all was said and done. It blended with the historic house it was build against and looks like it was an original feature. The shingle job to match the house blew me away. Brian does top notch carpentry and never cuts corners on quality. We paid more for the work, but all great work costs more. If you don’t mind spending a bit more for a licensed contractor to do phenomenal work, Brian is your guy. He does many projects for us and always makes us happy to invest in the projects we do. Thanks Brian! You are so easy to work with and you take all the guess work out of the projects with the experience you have developed over the years. Glad to know you!

Brian Knutson is a gem of a person and a fantastic, honest carpenter. He replaced a sliding glass door with a window and a regular door with glass on the top (literally opening the side of the house to do it) and I could not be more pleased. He built railings, ramps, a decking, steps and fixed many small things inside and outside the house reducing the risk of falling as I am handicapped. The best thing about Brian is he listens to what you want and how you want it. He understood what I imagined and did a superb job. I could not give him a higher recommendation. He does things right down to the minutest detail. He also took everything away and left me tidy and DONE!

Brian is awesome… He has worked on our home in Mill Valley on multiple projects, including updating deck railings, installing new doors and windows, installing new trim, and helping with both kitchen and bath updates. He has been incredibly professional, meticulous, timely, communicative, and kind throughout his time with us. You never feel with him, as I have with other tradesmen, like you are putting him out… his passion for good work is evident. He is also one of those amazing people to have on a project who can see not only his work, but also look at the bigger picture and save you time and energy (and money) in seeing how the pieces all fit together.
We would recommend him absolutely, and will certainly be using his services again in the future.

We were very happy with Brian’s work, diligence and his excellent customer service. Brian installed crown moulding and did a great job. He listened and offered helpful suggestions, communicated well and frequently about the plan/​expectations and completed the job beautifully and under-​budget (if you can believe that!). Brian is our «go to» person for construction work for us, personally, and for our friends. He is the consummate professional, e is scrupulously honest and a model for other contractors to aspire to. I recently had Brian convert an existing carport to a garage and his work was impeccable. He worked as general contractor and lead carpenter. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Throughout the construction process he was punctual. Super tidy. Respectful. Kept meticulous records of time and expenses. He brought in great subs. He basically was a pleasure to work with and I heartily recommend him. Plus we have a 14-​year-​old dog that was really freaked out by the noise and chaos of people coming and going. But she loved Brian! He always took special time with her to make sure she was calm and OK. Just a great all-​around classy guy!
