Carlo fixed my ’98 V70R’s transmission input seal, installed upgraded sway bars, and did a couple other things for a very, very reasonable price.
Customer service here is top notch; the job was done quickly, and my car drives great now! Now my only problem is driving it slowly enough that I can afford the gas.

The dealership told me I needed new brakes, but when CRO checked they found it had another 5,000 miles to go! Didn’t charge me anything! Hooray for honest people! I will be back.

We’ve been going to CRO for almost 7 years now. I had a V70 XC wagon, which I put quite a bit of cash into. When the repairs it started to need became a poor investment, instead of telling me to pour more money into it (and into their pockets), they told me to get rid of it, which I thought was very honest and selfless. Since getting rid of the Volvo, my wife has been taking her BMW X5 to CRO. They always do what they say they’re going to do. If it needs a bunch of stuff, Carlo will let you know which are the top priorities and which can wait. They’re not cheap but they’re not the most expensive either, I’d say prices are pretty fair for the region. Carlo is always to the point and never tries to bs you. His assistant mechanics seem to be the same way. My wife is happy so far with her service (though I have not had to take my Porsche in yet :-)).

In a word, these guys rock. I have been driving now for 35 years and I can say having taken a variety of cars to a variety of mechanics over the years there is no one that is as down-​to-​earth, sincere and honest as the gents at CRO. Granted the shop is not your five-​star resort when you walk in, personally I like that as it shows me their business is cars, not lattes, big screen TV’s and organic fruit snacks. These guys mean business and for that and the well-​being of my car I am forever grateful. I would take my Volvo nowhere else. Always inexpensive, always low-​key, always accurate and always kind. CRO rocks!

Jeez. Why didn’t I go here sooner. Carlo is a great mechanic as well as a great conversationalist and since I enjoy talking he is the man. He even turned me on to a film that I need to see. But back to the business. I went there after a referral from a friend who has gone to him for 15 – 20 years and he was extremely thorough yet the prices made me feel like I wasn’t being ripped off. The next time i showed up for a couple of minor repairs and he had one of his guys take me immediately and I was in and out in under a half hour as they had the parts that I needed in stock. The mechanic that I was going to charged 90 – 100 an hour whereas this place is closer to 60 if I am not mistaken. Aside from being a little difficult to find this place is definitely worth driving around the block until you find it. Now about that movie…

Shop was decent I suppose, was fairly messy and unclean which is always a bad sign. Service was ok, didn’t feel especially pleased with everything though. I would recommend going somewhere else probably but they’re ok.

Everyone at CRO is great. I have been using them intermittently for about 20 years or so, whenever I own a Volvo. This past June I had my neighborhood shop in the east Bay do a quick tune up for me. I have had a problem for a few years with my a/​c unit blowing hot and cold despite a cooling agent recharge and basic work up. The local shop finally said that the whole climate control module was going to have to be replaced and that would involve some computer stuff they aren’t set up to do. So anyhow, I called Carlo at CRO. I was just about to head out for a drive down I-​5 in late June with a toddler and really wanted to be cool! He offered to take a look at it, for free. Right then. They immediately checked the car out and actually did confirm my local shops DX but also found that if my temperature control dials are just ONE click above full cold, the A/​C works perfectly. Awesome! So, with that I thanked them profusely and made a Girl Scout promise that when the time comes, and I really do have to replace that dang module, they have the job.
Bottom line: when you bring your car here, they will do the job right. They know their stuff and are always willing to help you find ways to get the work done on your car without feeling like you’ve been sucker punched. (I do not know why ANYONE would go to Marin Volvo, that is like taking your paycheck and burning it). They are also really awesome about telling you about what repairs your car needs to have done right away and which ones can wait. They are just honest people.

This is my go to place for my Volvo repairs. The oil changes seems a bit expensive, but they have many inspections, but I do them elsewhere. All the repairs I have done has been well priced, promptly made, and never any issues. Highly recommended.

I love the mechanics at CRO and have been taking my Volvos here for years. I have had three Volvos (with a couple of other cars in between) over the last 14 years and when I was in the market for a new used car last year, the major reason that I bought another Volvo was because I knew I would be able to take it to CRO and again work with very reliable and very fast working mechanics. They did a used car inspection for me and were very honest about some problems that allowed me to negotiate a lower price on the vehicle from the dealer.

With my previous Volvo, I had taken it to my mechanic that I had been taking my Honda to and he told me that I needed a new fuel pump that would cost $ 1,200. I remembered CRO and took the car there for a second opinion– turned out to be a $ 10 fuel pump hose that was leaking!
The bottom line is that owning and repairing Volvos can sometimes be expensive but the mechanics at CRO are honest and fast. I wouldn’t take my Volvos anywhere else. Period.

They are good technicians, but they are priced the same, if not above what the dealerships charge. Their ‘bed-​side manner’ is terrible, if you want to chat for more than five minutes, don’t waste your time. They’ve got money to collect. I asked about general maintenence and they said, ‘oh, call me’. If you have a volvo, and you’ve got money burning a hole in your pocket, these are your guys. Otherwise, look elsewhere. Don’t waste your time.

CRO is great! We have 2 volvos and have been taking them there for service and repair for about 15 years. Not only are the prices reasonable but there is no sales pressure– they tell you what is wrong and give you an estimate– take it or leave it. Carlo has also gone over and beyond to try to identify a mystery problem we had with our 240, to the extent that he drove it around over a weekend to get the vehicle to repeat the problem. 2 thumbs up!
