Express Employment Professionals

Was sent to interviews where the company was really shady and couldn’t give me any details about the job.
It was almost like the position had been filled and they were doing interviews to save face.
The position also didn’t match my qualifications in any way and I was routinely offered short term jobs (1 day or 2 day) that were in no way related to my skill sets and paid shit.

DO NOT TEMP HERE.
It took about a month and a half for them to get me a job below the pay grade I was seeking, and that was from following up with the agent weekly to bi-​weekly.
I was severely unhappy with the position, so they promised me that they would be able to, «quickly move me and transition to another position smoothly»… Then four months later after being told NOT to reach out to any other employers because I am a, «great candidate» and, «to wait until employers are hiring after the holidays» etc. I finally got fed up.
That same day I went in to pick up my paycheck and found it was short.
I inquired with the receptionist about it, and she then informed me that THEY FAILED TO DOUBLE CHECK MY PAY and I had been getting overpaid. She then went on to tell me that they would need to take out the extra I had been getting paid weekly out of my next paycheck, which left… Nothing.
I need to pay rent, and now I can’t because of these guys.
Do yourself a favor, and pick another temp agency with some actual professionalism and integrity.

I cannot give a more positive response to this agency, especially Shawn Spalding. Everyone in this office is professional, friendly and has a genuine concern for finding the right position for you. They placed me in a contract job that was supposed to be 3 months with a public agency. I was there for almost 6 and when the permanent position was posted I was able to apply and I got it! I cannot recommend these folks more highly, I could not have had this amazing job without them.

While my experience with Express Professionals is very limited, I have to say the brief moments I had left a bad taste in my mouth. I went to their site regarding a specific job that a friend of mine told me about. I went online, saw the listing and applied. As instructed in the listing, I called their office. Before I could finish my sentence, I was interrupted being told that the job was filled. This was fine, but I went on to inform the woman on the line that it was still listed so maybe take it down to avoid this type of situation. Again, before I could finish my sentence — interrupted and then a curt goodbye and a hang up.
The following morning I received a voicemail from Veronica regarding my online application and was asked to return her call. No more than ten minutes later I go to return her call and tell her my name and that I am getting back to her. She a) had no clue who I was and b) had no clue what she called me about. While I am sure she makes many phone calls a day, as someone who also works in an office setting it seems very unprofessional to not have some sort of notation or records of who and why you’re leaving voicemails for someone, especially in a ten minute time lapse.
She asked me what I was interested in and I told her the company of the the job I was interested in. Well, that must have been the wrong thing to say because I pretty much got grilled about how and why I knew the name of the place. I’m not sure of the policies about this, but to be upset and have less than stellar phone etiquette isn’t the right way to respond.
The conversation ended with her asking if there were other positions I may be interested in. While I otherwise would have been open to this option, after her attitude on the phone I quickly said no. If this is the way things are done in this company, I don’t think it’s a place I want to be associated with. And with that no, once again a curt goodbye and click of the receiver.

We had a great experience with Express, from an employer’s perspective. I work for a small non-​profit, and as the administrator, there is no one except a small handful of volunteers who are able to do even a part of my job. When my primary office volunteer had a family emergency right before I was to go on vacation, Express was able to send me Karen, who did a fantastic job while I was away. She has a good understanding about ‘how things work’ here, with a huge variety of community members and personalities. I received only great feedback about her after I returned. She was a perfect match.
Travis, the manager at Express, is someone who I have worked with before and he has a high degree of skill in matching employee and employer. He checks in regularly and really seems to always have an understanding of our needs. He also returns calls and messages quickly — something that really helps my stress level when I’m scrambling to make sure someone can be here when I’m getting ready to go out of town!

I recently got an assignment thru Express Staffing in San Rafael, CA. Express gave me a 4 month admin assignment. My assignment ended early because the sick worker came back. Express left me a message saying: My assignment has Ended, they want to Thank Me for all My Hard Work and I did a Great Job. Express told Unemployment: My assignment was Terminated, I was chronically late, I made numerous mistakes and I had a Bad Attitude. They not only told a complete fabrication but they went overboard! It has been two months and I still havent got my Unemployment. I have $ 40 left. This company is beyond sleezy, run screaming from them. Do not work for them! I was speechless when I heard what they said about me.

We at All Seasons Catering have used Express Employment Professionals a number of time with great success. We have always been happy with the staff that they have sent to us, One time we used one of their staff over and over while one of our employees was out sick for an extended amount of time. Their office is friendly, professional and has worked hard to meet our needs even at the last moment. They have come thru for us every time we have called them. I highly recommend them.

In July-​2013, I signed up with Express Employment to find Bookkeeping opportunities in Marin. Most pleasantly surprised was I when an interview opportunity arose in Tiburon within a couple of weeks. Upon completion, there was a follow-​up second interview with the business owner that was extensive and reflected on how well Express staffing and the client had worked to find truly committed, great people with closely matched skill sets. That was a vow start for me, after being disappointed with more than 9-​other agencies, some as famous as AccounTemps/​RHI, Premier and Nelson.
When I learned that the Tiburon client had placed on hold any hiring, Express appeared to go full-​blast on finding other good opportunities for me, even if it is short-​term and temporary. Within days, the call came through for an interview in Novato and long story short: I had an interesting, satisfying 5-​week assignment that ended this week, completing most basic goals set.
Express staff were really concerned and caring about both my aspirations, expectations of job assignments. They were friendly, professional, authentic and cordial in all their communications. Even when I had some probing questions about a company or a position, they were factual and realistic and helped me do my best so that I can represent them well at a client’s office.
I also liked how the administrators Tracy and Peter recognized and promoted my professional growth and pursuits in certifications and recognition. It was a nice refresher to take some of their online tests to update skills and provide proof of experience and expertise.
It was a pleasant surprise when Tracy and Peter at the Novato office both took time to meet me, give me a feed back and ask how things were at many levels.
It was good to know they are serious and genuine about their contract employees like me and in providing high-​quality professional staffing service. I’ve even ‘over-​heard’ a few other contractors like me walking away with a smile and/​or good comments!
What else would I have liked from Express? Perhaps an open meeting with the client and myself in their presence, primarily to fine-​tune the job fit, work efrficiency and COST. Yes, co$t was something most clients of their mentioned since it costs them nearly twice as the paid wages for the contractor. i.e., I would like to see Express research and implement better ways to reward contractors like me with a higher wage + reduce the cost to their clients by exploring early the possibility of temp to hire situations. I would also like to see a periodic (Spring, Summer, Fall) gathering and socializing at their office of clients, contractors and their staff … giving them all a chance to appreciate and enjoy each other’s contribution — after all, without that people experience, business and money does not mean much. Also, personally for me, it would be great to explore some partly paid/​invested workshops with local professionals for faster track results.

I’m glad that there are people who’ve found employment with Express Pros. They are a small office, so I don’t know if this might affect the amount of jobs that come their way.
I had signed up there in the sprint/​summer of 2011. I had gotten a day job, 2 interviews (one got cancelled), and 2 job offers (at their office) within my first 4 months of signing up. I would say that a good 5 months went by when I didn’t hear from them at all. I would check in every 2 weeks. In the meantime, I had found temp work elsewhere.
Unfortunately for me, the job offers weren’t what I’m looking for, as I tend to be introverted, and I couldn’t imagine myself working b2b sales or a highly busy/​stressful front desk longterm. (I tend to like independent work, things that perhaps other people find boring or takes lots of concentration.) I even got offered the same front desk job, in their office, 3 times. After they finally understood what I was looking for, that’s when I didn’t really hear from them.
It should be okay to have specific interests when it comes to seeking longterm employment, but I’m not always sure that staffing companies are concerned with what the jobseeker wants. From a business perspective, I’m sure that they would prefer employees who meet their agenda, and take the jobs that they want them to have.
But I had mostly good experiences with Daniel Ramos when I did hear from him, except for one phone conversation when he was driving on the freeway and was rude; but I don’t recommend working a highly stressful job and talking on the phone during commuter traffic to anyone. Safety 1^st.

i was referred to Manisha from a good friend, and was i lucky.
i gave her my resume on a Friday, had an interview on Monday, and was working by Wednesday!!! and the company she got me into was a perfect fit!!! i dont think that it could get any better. everyweek i look forward to the short chats with the entire office.

I agree with the previous post on not understanding why there are negative reviews on this page. I started my job search slowly as I was already working full time and Manisha helped me find a job that I could use all of my experience with. I was employed right away! Not only were they able to find a great job for me, but the staff was so friendly and I really felt that they were there to HELP me and were interested in finding a position for me that I would be interested in, not just finding me any job available. I had a wonderful experience with this company and branch so far. Thank you!

I’m not sure why the only other review on here is negative because my experience with them was FANTASTIC!
I was sought out because of my resume, and yes, you go in the office and have an initial interview at their desk with others around but its just a basic introductory interview. They are trying to get to know you and what you are looking for and if they can help you! It took them only one week to get me the most perfect full time job that I’m currently still at. They are always available if you need them, they look and act very professional, very friendly, and most importantly they find people jobs! I was so fortunate to work with them because I would not of found this job without them. Pristine companies use Express Employment Professionals for hire. I didn’t even interview with the company I am at now; the company TRUSTED the word of EEP.
I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Express Employment Professionals to anyone in need of employment!

This place is a joke, there are so many better options out there. First of all, you interview right at their desks, completely out in the open. You can see and hear the person before you interviewing for the same job. They ask you meaningless questions like «without telling me what it is, describe your favorite color in 3 words» or «say the first word that comes to your head,» psychobabble with no real merit to it.
Daniel, the staffing manager is really full of himself and is quick to tell you how great he is and how he is just amazing for his age, such a «headhunter.»
They don’t actually have many jobs, the bate you in with phony Craigslist ads (which honestly most employment agencies do.“
