Established in 2012.

Functional Spaces Organizing was started after years of being a home organizer and business organizer unofficially for friends, family and colleagues. After a long career in the corporate environmental sector, Heather wanted to work with people — not PowerPoint presentations. Heather founded Functional Spaces Organizing, a natural extension of her organizing personality and environmental values, to help people live simpler, more relaxed and confident lives.

Recently dubbed «My Stuff Therapist» by a client, Heather has worked for years as an organizer whether it was for hire, barter or simply rescuing family and friends from disorganization and chaos. In 2012, after an extensive career in the environmental sustainability space, Heather founded Functional Spaces Organizing to help others feel a sense of relaxation and confidence that comes from having your affairs in order.

Heather has a wide range of experience that allows her to meet people where they are when it comes to getting organized. Through roles such as project manager, she has organized both people and high-​level campaigns and events. She has also worked with small businesses, where she has set up productivity and collaboration tools.

She earned her MBA the University of North Carolina, where she was voted «Most Outstanding MBA.» She lives with her husband and three kids in San Rafael, CA.
