My parents recommended Hi Tide because that’s where they took our ski boat when I was growing up… Both times I’ve tried calling to ask about a problem/​try to schedule maintenance, I have been put off by the manor in which my calls were received. Apparently they don’t need more business, as they have been incapable of answering simple questions in a professional and polite way; would NEVER take our boat here for that reason alone. Go to J&H Marine if you’re looking for competent, quality and affordable service. Very disappointed in Hi Tide, wanted to feel comfortable taking our boat here since we live locally. Speaks volumes that we’re willing to spend $ 120 in gas alone to take our boat somewhere else.

We found Hi-​Tide on foot when we had power boat issues on a cruise to San Rafael. We were so impressed with the attitude, expertise, and level of service that we now only use Hi –Tide for our Mercruiser engine parts, service, and repairs. Anthony is honest and has great fishing stories. You won’t leave disappointed.

This is the place to take your boat if you want good service at a fair price. I made the mistake of taking my boat to Ace Marine in Petaluma 2 years ago for an overheating issue which they did not fix and had my boat the entire summer. Anyways this review is not about them. Hi Tide Boats fixed my boat within 2 days and its been running great since. I asked the other place to also install a fresh water flush kit inside the engine compartment and they told me «Wow, thats going to be really expensive to do» well Anthony at High Tide told me it was simple and installed the kit for under $ 200.
Hi Tide will be servicing my boat from here on out.

Being a boater for 20 years, I love my competition ski boat. Unfortunately, she has taken a beating over the years. The salt water lagoon in my back yard has wreaked havoc on the inboard 5.7 Mercruiser

I first noticed that some minor leakage was starting to form on the elbows of my exhaust. Like any good boater, I decided to take the exhaust off and replace the gaskets while inspecting the heads. Well, to my surprise, there was some condensation starting to form in the number 2 cylinder. After a compression test, I knew it was time to service the heads.
I was in for a bit of repair so I went to High-​Tide and met Anthony for the first time. Anthony is a large man with a big attitude. He seemed a little gruff at first but we quickly became friends. Don’t let him fool you, he is a great guy. Anthony has 50 years of boating knowledge and when it comes to boating, there isn’t any question he can’t answer. Not only did he direct me to the local machine shop for my heads (T&G who did a fantastic job), he gave me step-​by-​step instructions on how to replace my exhaust, repack my stuffing box and other tips of the trade.
I am a loyal customer of High-​Tide and now a friend of Anthony’s. He has most everything you need in stock or he knows where to get it.

I found Hi-​Tide Boat Sales & Service by accident one day because his competition was closed! Anthony was very kind to me on a Friday near closing. I was looking for parts for my old mercury outboard I had just bought and he had the parts in stock. He advised me on how to go about the repairs and what else to look for that may need replacement on my motor. His advise was spot on and it is easy to tell that this guy knows his profession inside and out. I have been back many times for parts and advise on my boat that I am restoring and he has been a great help every time.
In his yard he has boat storage, a bone yard of used and hard to get parts along with a large inventory of new parts and a workshop with equipment to do what looks like anything to do with boats. This is the place to go for just about anything you need for boats and motors.
If you are looking to buy a boat or motor I advise you take it to him first to see if what you are looking to buy is worth it. He can definitely supply you with the parts and service to get your boat seaworthy and dependable. I have not met anyone with more experience in the profession and I have met a quite a few.

I have Been a customer of Hi-Tide’s for over 20 years! I have been to many boat sales and service centers in the Bay Area.
I have never been to a more honest repair shop period! also finding a part that may not be sold or manufactured anymore is still possible at Hi-​Tide.

I had my boat completely rebuilt and the engine serviced a few years ago and it is still working great. Anthony was terrific and did an A+ job. Anthony knows his stuff and does the job right. I am A 4^th generation sf bay area person. I grew up boating on the bay. I have met and run with a lot of characters that truly love and respect this temperamental and sometimes fatally dangerous bay. Most are home grown some are not. Anthony at Hi-​Tide at San Rafael is someone I would depend on in any adverse situation. Old school, he does not suffer fools. His work reflects his commitment to the values of nautical excellence.
