Very easy place to get lost in… lol
You can pretty much find anything home related at this place. They have vast isles of product and friendly staff.
They also sell Carhart Work wear along with other brands of outdoor work clothes.
They also are an authorized Honda engine repair shop for your lawnmower or anything yard related machinery.

In addition to quality hardware, tools, and tool rental & repair they have a very proactive, knowledgable, attentive staff. I recently brought a nail gun in for repair and was prepared to leave it and pay the repair fee… but the tech asked me to hang on for a minute while he took it back into the shop, only to return 5 minutes later with the gun in operable condition without a repair cost. Very cool, check Jackson’s out, they are great.

Great hardware store! They also have work clothes, hats, and other items. You can buy gift certificates here, too, and the staff are helpful.

I love supporting the little guys and staying out of big box stores. I love that this company at least says they are 100% employee owned — that’s rare these days. But everyone seems so grumpy all the time. Would be nice if I was met with a smile every now and then. And returning items here is a major headache compared to the big boxes. Again — I’d love to keep supporting this local business… but the service and return policies keep me driving a little further to HD. =+(

Pretty cool mom and pop establishment. I went there looking for new brushed nickel shower handles. They didn’t have anything in stock but they service rep was very helpful made some phone calls and was able to find some and even gave me a quote. The service is helpful and knowledgable not like the the big box stores and the products they have are all very good. I looked at the new shower faucet assembly and they had some pretty high end stuff which I had not seen anywhere else! I would definetly recommend going here and supporting local buisness!

I just discovered this gem of a hardware store, after a neighbor told me about it. I went there to inquire about an item and had a team member assist me. I went back afterwards to buy the item (bathroom light/​fan). Both times I was greeted at the door and offered assistance. They’ve got a huge inventory of hardware stuff, and if they don’t have it — they can order it. Looks like they also rent equipment too. It seems a lot easier to deal with a local store rather than a chain store. Love to support my local businesses.

My first time … And last!!! Pini s hardware in Novato is sooo much better. There is help on the floor and they are very very friendly! At Jackson’s Hardware I could not find a single person to help me on the floor and when I found the front counter I had to wait in line for a cashier to help me. The employee I asked rolled his eyes when I asked him for help!!! OH REALLY ! Bye Bye!!! Back to Pini’s!!!

This is where the contractors go, and where you can find people that really know what they are talking about. Better quality than the big box stores on most things, and way better customer service.

Jackson’s carries some essential items that other hardware stores do not. That said, EVERYTHING is much more expensive, so I don’t shop there often.
The employees (owners) are sometimes helpful, however often they are borderline rude and make shopping an unpleasant experience.

I love going to Jackson’s — they pretty much have everything you need — but more importantly they have real people who work there; they know what they are doing, always happy to help (the real kind of help, not the point-​in-​general-​direction kind of «help» you get at the big box stores.

I just got back from this fine establishment with a big smile! I had a Honda EU3000 generator serviced elsewhere, a lot of major work, and the thing would not start properly. The guys at Jackson took a quick look and saw the choke was not engaging properly on the inside (although seemed to be working from the outside). They unstuck it and it started fine.
The reason for five stars is (i) they helped me immediately, even taking the 150 lb. unit off my van with a forklift, (ii) they took time to see if it was a quick fix, and (iii) they charged me nothing and even refused a tip. I was in and out in 5 min. That is quality service.
I’ll be bringing more of my hardware-​related buisness to Jackson.

We spent a delightful half hour with Michael O’Sullivan looking for fixtures for our old bathroom that is to be remodeled. Michael’s knowledge of the products, his ability to understand the styles we were looking at made the experience a real pleasure. We left with pamphlets, brochures, model numbers, colors, information that we can now just hand over to our contractor. All done in just 30 minutes, we left with a smile on our faces and a sense of dealing with a very straight set of guys.

I came here in Jan 2013 as I was running out of town and had to make some quick decisions on a bath remodel before I left … this place is like Hardware Heaven. I was helped by John and then several other people when I let him go as I was just thinking about the many many options he showed me on a number of items. The virtual plethora and variety is astounding … they are definitely not the bargain store, but to retain such knowledgeable, HAPPY, genuinely kind people that seemed like a cohesive team, I’ll keep coming here from Oakland ANY time I want quality advice and a clear understanding of my options. I literally had to tell John he could go help other people because he was completely willing to be at my side until I was finished making all my decisions. He opened book upon book of manufacture’s catalogues going into all the pertinent details of what I wanted and comparing items. Yes, I could have gone to Amazon or another online supply place for cheaper price but the service is unparalleled and that’s what you pay for.
As someone who has done many a primal scream in a Home Depot (parking lot) and literally been fearful of a few of the workers there … I have nothing but the highest praise for the excellent service and amazing variety of Jackson’s.
It is unfortunate they are closed on Sundays and closed at 6p weekdays, making it a little hard for non-​contractors to patronize their store, but it’s worth fitting it into your schedule.

Good old fashion place. the staff know their stuff, period. you can get cheaper, but if i am doing a project, i want to do it right the first time, period. I do not want to go to the Big Box store and get lost in a maze of aisles, with a staff that just does not know the business.
Jacksons does it well.

I have a Stihl weed wacker that needed a little mechanical love, so I decided to take it to Jackson’s as they are my local Stihl dealer. My weed wacker has always been tough to start and had something broken in the throttle that nobody could seem to fix without replacing the entire assembly.
So to cut to the chase, I get this thing back and it starts on the second pull, plus the throttle was somehow fixed! Amazing! I have put over 10 hours on this thing since getting it back and I remain highly impressed. Not only did they go above and beyond with the service, they charged me at the original quote. No idea how they fixed my throttle, but I was not even charged for it. I realize that Jackson’s may not always be the cheapest, but it certainly is a great value. And I can say in all honesty, that my weed wacker has never run better.
One strange quirk is that the store is closed on Sundays. Why on earth a hardware store would be closed on a Sunday is a complete mystery to me. This is one of two days I normally have to work on my projects, so I have no other choice to but to take my business elsewhere and give someone else a shot at earning my loyalty.

Give one star for being situated close to my residential neighborhood. Give one star for being employee-​owned.
Take off one star for being expensive. Take off one star for making it difficult to find someone to help you. And take off one huge sky-​filling super-​nova for being CLOSED ON SUNDAYS. What… I’m supposed to take a day off work to do my projects? It’s clear who you think is important.

I stopped by today to buy a new lock for my residence and Mark helped me out.
Within 10 minutes, he gave me an excellent education on all the available locks and which one may suit me the best.
I asked for advice regarding a specific lock that a locksmith and told me about and Mark took the time to reseach the product and gave me phone numbers and names of two locksmiths that he would recommend that I get additional quotes from.
The information/​education that he gave to me was so informative and useful that I felt guilty for not giving him a commission for his services.
This is the 4^th time I have come here… and every time I do, I am always impressed with the knowledge and expertise of all the staff!

So, as with many household repairs, this shower head/​hose was not fixed in one trip to the store. Turns out I was missing a little O ring. I headed back up to Jackson’s and fortunately had Bob helping me again. He took the time to locate a generic O ring in stock (didn’t fit quite right), look in the Grohe parts manual, search Grohe website, and talk to Grohe customer service. He came up with a solution that went above and beyond in my opinion. Instead of ordering the missing O ring (and the missing little filter) from Grohe, he took the entire piece that attaches the head to the hose that he took from a new shower head. He ordered a new one to replace into that box, and I got the piece I needed right away and without paying shipping.
I’m starting to really appreciate this employee-​owned business!

Great place. Large, employee owned, and stocked with a lot of stuff. That being said, they are an independent shop and as such sometimes don’t carry everything you’ll need for a job. That’s supply-​chain life and exclusive distribution arrangements for ya.
Beyond that, though, the customer service here is outstanding, and it is a local affair. I like all of that.
