Specialties
Purveyor of limited lots and new release wines from California and beyond.
History
Established in 2012.
Stash Wines brings sought-after, artisanal wines, crafted in small batches, to casual wine drinkers, enthusiasts and collectors. You’ve never heard of this particular label before. Or you have, and you’re dying to get your hands on it. But where do you go to learn about the best up-and-coming wines from Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley, Capay Valley (huh?), Santa Barbara and beyond? Stash Wines.
Owner Scot Wagner curates a constantly updated «stash» of new wine projects just released to the public, along with wines that have been produced for several vintages, yet the production is very small so you won’t see it at BevMo, Costco or other big box wine retailers. He’ll share with you some tasting notes (blackberries, cigar, citrus, etc.) and also tell you the story behind the wine: the terroir, what he personally saw the last time he walked the vineyard with the winemaker, or the «valley gossip» about how a particular wine made its debut.
Meet the Business Owner
Scot W.
Business Owner
Prior to opening Stash Wines, I spent four years working in retail wine sales in the heart of Napa Valley, St. Helena. It was there that I learned, first hand, the who, what, where and why on what it takes to make the best wines in California and beyond. I have also completed my introductory sommelier certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers and have completed several classes in viticulture through Napa Valley College. In a prior life, I held a variety of sales and sales management positions in the healthcare industry for 12 years with an emphasis in Oncology.
