Crow Canyon Shell- Time 4 Smog

Great service will go again.

I have been to this gas station twice for smog checks. Both times I was surprised by small additional charges but I always believed in supporting local mom/​pop business.
But I have to share my negative experience about the car wash operation and the hostile owner. Several people (as posted) and I missed the drying cycle. At the end of the wash cycle, the blower would run, but the vents would get stuck and not back off towards my mini-​van. After a good 10 seconds, I moved forward towards the blower. The blower stopped and the whole session ended. My mini-​van still was still soaking wet.
When I asked the gas station attendant for another cheapest or just a blower run, he flatly denied it. He told me to dry it with the towels that were provided outside. Apparently, lots of people made the same mistakes because the stack of towels were very dirty and they looked more like well-​used rags.
Not wanting to put dirt on my wet car surface, I went back to the attendant and this time, he directed me to the owner, who was an old man with a grey hair. He offered to towel my mini-​van, which at this time, I accepted as a respect to the elder as long as he chose the cleaner ones.
To my surprise, as he walked over to the towel area, he started cursing loudly and calling customers stupid. Not wanting to hear the raving madness over an $ 8.00 car wash, I told him that he just lost a customer forever and left.

I have been going to this Shell Station ever since I moved to San Ramon and it has gone through many changes of ownership. The gas pumps are updated and pump gas very quickly. I hate pumps that take 10 minutes to fill your tank up. This station is right next door to a Chevron Station and is usually a cent or two cheaper. There is a car wash discount and the car wash is better then the one at Chevron.
Now the Smog place is a different story. I took my car there once and I will never go there again. They advertise a $ 29.95 smog but after all is said and done its $ 50. The original owners were a Mom and Pop gas station a repair shop but that’s changed. Just get gas and use the car wash.

This is a complaint about the attitude and discretion of the attendant at the Shell Station located at 2850 Crow Canyon Road, San Ramon, California 94 583. I filled up for gas and paid for an «Express» carwash service.
The carwash service did not do the «Touch Free Dry» portion as stated and advertised. I complained to the service attendant «Nazi» about this matter. She was not very helpful as she could not tell me that it did not do that. She did not seem to understand the complaint as she continued to tell me that some of the carwash service options include an underbody wash — totally out of topic. I told her that the drying state is written on the service package and that I would understand if it was out-​of-​order.
If, indeed, it was out-​of-​order then there should be a notice to that effect. I know that it should do the drying stage because I’ve had this express service done many times before. Nazi did not seem to care and was rude and very smug about it. I’ve contacted Shell Customer Care about this now.

Rude cashier– perhaps racist/​snobby to Asian people!

This car wash is the best self serve car wash around! Why? There is a bug brush at the start so you can brush off the rims and bugs from the grill. For $ 5 – 10 and 10 min of your time you can save tons of money on your car wash. As for the idiots who use it, I won’t rate them, but wait for the light to turn green before you drive off! It isn’t that difficult, but I guess that is America!

It was Friday afternoon and I needed gas and a car wash really bad. This station has a full car wash not a touchless car wash.
Since I got gas I got a $ 5 car wash. Pretty cheap.
I made my way over to the car wash where one car was inside getting washed and one was waiting in line. I pulled in behind that car and waited.
Then I see the car inside just pull up and start trying to leave before the drying session had even started. I guess she was in a hurry or to stupid to realize the wash wasn’t over.
Then the lady in front me just pulls in and the machine finished drying what should have been the other lady’s car. I just shook my head and didn’t pull forward.
I wanted to back up and leave but there were 2 more cars behind me!
I was trapped in stupidity. I got out went to see if I could push a button or something but the machine just wasn’t doing anything. Then the lady still inside just starts blaring her horn.
The woman behind me gets out and asked what going on and I explained what happened and she went over to the woman inside and told her to pull out and go inside.
As soon as she pulled out I hauled ass out of the car wash, (because I couldn’t back out).
The car wash you buy is good for 14 days afterwords. It was Friday afternoon and just wanted to head home not wait around for dummy’s to figure out a car wash.
Ill go back on Monday on the way into the office.
So the message today is:
PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS WHEN USING A CAR WASH!!!
UPDATE:
I went back on Monday and I am not kidding… The guy in front of me did the same thing and drove out before the drying started. I had to go back in and have them reset it. What the hell is in the water in San Ramon?
