Hoop Matrix

My son loves basketball, so for his big 10^th birthday I decided I wanted to plan a basketball party for him. I hadn’t had a birthday party for him since he was six, and I’ve been extremely busy and exhausted these days, so trying to put together a party myself like I usually do felt quite challenging. But after paying for a party package at Super Franks for his little brother a few months before and finding how easy it was, I decided that a similar (yet age-​appropriate) party package-​type-​deal was the route to go.
Scheduling with Randy was completely effortless. I provided the food and kids and Randy took care of the rest. All of the kids were entertained by all the games and drills and it was even difficult to get them all together for cake, haha. Everyone had a blast and it was a complete hit… probably the best party either of my kids have had with the least amount of work put into it. When I’ve had parties for them at home, it would take up to a couple days to clean up afterward; when the party at Hoops Matrix was over, everyone filed out and everything was clean in an un-​chaotic amount of time. Seriously, after five minutes I was like, «Whoa, that’s it?» Thanks to Randy Duck for making my son’s party run smoothly and effortlessly and memorable! I would definitely consider enrolling my son in lessons or classes at Hoops Matrix as well.

Solid basic skill drill. Coaches go after every little technical detail. They know what they are doing. Kids trained here look very good so we are staying with them.

Our son picked up a basketball less than 3 years ago and this year he made his high school freshmen team. As parents, we went through our own crash course on the basketball programs in the East Bay and were fortunate that his CYO coach recommended Randy and Hoop Matrix to us this past year. We had our son start semi-​private lessons with Randy in March and in that short time we have noticed tremendous improvement in ball control, shooting, game strategy and most importantly, his confidence. Even more amazing, is that our son will ask to be dropped off at the gym following a session with Randy (and they are hard work outs) and stay at the gym for hours to practice what he’s just learned.

Our son is a 16 year old sophomore at Cal High School and has been taking private lessons from Randy Duck sporadically throughout the last 3 years… only because our son also plays baseball, so we don’t work with Randy during baseball season. I was originally referred to Randy by Coach Hans Delannoy from San Ramon Valley High School, who spoke very highly of him. The results of the hard work that our son has put in with Randy has paid huge dividends, as 3 years ago he couldn’t even make the St. Raymond’s CYO 6^th grade A-​team. Then last year he made the Cal High freshman team and fought to get 4 or 5 minutes of playing time per game on a guard heavy team… our son is one of 6 guards on the team!
This year, he made the team easily and earned about 12 – 15 minutes of playing time per game… and actually led the team in scoring in one game and made great defensive contributions throughout the season. Aside from increased playing time, I can assure you that it was very evident that our son had moved past several of the boys on our team that had better skills than him just the season before. He was playing with more confidence than ever before! The common denominator in all of this success? Randy Duck, without a doubt!
I could spend paragraphs writing out all of the great things that Randy has done for our son, but I’ll summarize it by stating that if you’ve got a son or daughter that is looking to improve their basketball skills to get to the next level, then look no further, you’re search is over! I promise that you will not find a person out there better equipped to work with your kid than Randy Duck. He is an amazing individual that connects to kids on many different levels… and at the end of the day, our son is not just a better ball player, but a better person because of his time spent with Randy.

Two of my sons have gone to Hoop House for both individual lessons and for team training for the past year. I think very highly of this place. It’s a small facility, but it’s 100% dedicated to improving basketball fundamentals. Randy Duck does a great job with the kids. Great combination of instruction, encouragement, and discipline. My sons have improved greatly since going to Hoop House.
